Kurtis Blow was the Clash's first introduction to rap. Rap music and seeing young people on the streets of NYC with boomboxes inspired The Clash to write ‘The Magnificent Seven’ as a salute. Their Time Square show spurned on a riot for the first time since a Frank Sinatra show.
