Spoon: Day 1

By Bill Shunn

In 1993 Britt Daniel and Jim Eno formed the nucleus of Spoon (named after a Can song). With influences from bands like Wire and Pixies, their debut album, Telephono, came out from Matador in 1996 and immediately attracted a small but fanatical fanbase, some of whom still think it's their best album.
