Dr. Don Wood developed the Inspired Performance Institute after spending years researching how trauma affects our minds and our lives. Dr. Wood began to understand that events and experiences throughout our lifetime continue to play a role in how we experience life in the present. He also realized that there was a better way of treating the issue. “Teaching people to live with, manage and cope with the daily stress doesn’t fix the problem. The solution comes from understanding it’s source and providing a long-term permanent solution”.Dr. Wood’s background experience has come from spending time in the for profit and non-profit world. This combination provided a unique perspective on problem solving. He used these skills to develop the Inspired Performance Institute and the NEURO XP program.Dr. Wood has written two books about his research including the science about how our minds work and why we experience our own unique perspective of the world. Both books are focused on how we can all make the desired changes by allowing our mind to reset and reboot. He has spoken on these topics domestically and internationally.Join us for this amazing episode. Join Kimberly and April as they talk about what's in our beauty and household products. Do you even know? Check out this episode. Jana Madson - BIOHi. 👋 I'm Jana Madsen. Did you know that in the United States, 1 in 2 women and 1 in 3 men will develop cancer in their lifetime? Scary, right?!? I'm the ONE in "1 in 2 women."At age 36, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, and 6 months later, thyroid cancer. Talk about a 1-2 punch! 🥊With no family history and no DNA anomalies, I've spent the last 7 years trying to figure out why I got cancer. 🤷♀ I can't exactly put my finger on it, but the short answer is "environmental factors."Since that a-ha moment, I've been cleaning up my life. "Control what you can control" is not just a catch-phrase, it's the way I live my life now. I started with food and then moved on to household items and personal care products.🤔 Did you know that your pressed powder might contain asbestos-contaminated talc?💄Or that 60% of lipsticks test positive for lead?🚫 That parabens (a common ingredient in lotions and body care products) have been found in breast cancer tissue?😲 Or that 80% of the ingredients in our personal care products have never been tested for safety? It's true‼️ Your skin is your largest organ, absorbing up to 60 percent of what you put on it.I've made it my personal mission to share what I've learned so others can clean up their act too. One year ago, I decided to partner with Beautycounter, a clean beauty brand, who's mission is remarkably similar to my own.I can't wait to give you the tools you need to shop for safer products and introduce you to my favorites.
