Have you ever tried to study for long periods of time, getting distracted at every turn. Maybe it was something tedious at work that frustrated you to no end. Over my years I have learned that I can not learn that way. Not truly learn. Changing habits or truly learning something new comes From experiments that lead to experiences. In this episode I share some gold for dyslexics who find themselves self sabotaging change.  Want to be on the pod and share your story? >> https://www.videoask.com/fzg9j7p5j Get On The Waiting List For Our January Course >> https://tcd.truthaboutdyslexia.com/The-Confident-Dyslexic Join our Private Facebook Community Here >> https://www.facebook.com/groups/adultdyslexia  Support the Pod on Patreon and get some cool videos along the way! >> https://www.patreon.com/adultdyslexia Subscribe to watch 'My Dyslexic Life' on Youtube here >> https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6eO96kabO3y66aUeaEKbIg

If you have a mind like mine - you will get this podcast. One thing I keep being reminded of in my life is that we all have a bias. A bias of believing that the people we surround ourselves with make up the greater world. The true fact is.... they don't. But if our minds tried to comprehend that fully they probably would explode. I was reminded recently that not everyone is fully aware of the ADHD - Dyslexia combo and how linked they are. In this episode I look at preposing a new way to look at it. Dyslexia is a label. It is a label that with it brings a set of common traits. One of those traits is many of us have much much much more more powerful visual minds than the average person. Some of us have nurtured our visual minds, others have ignored it and taken it for granted. In this episode i wanted to share some thinking around how to see the visual mind and a new perspective shift I have had in the last little while. A question I never really had when I was younger was - Do I also have ADHD? It honestly never crossed my mind. For me personally I realised it was part of who I am when a friend asked to grab a coffee and find out more about the work I was doing in the Adult Dyslexia space. He mentioned he had just been diagnosed with ADHD and told me his story. He said one of the things that he learned was that if you find yourself tapping your foot in meetings or at boring times. It was a common sign of ADHD - It's like you are trying to speed up a super slow situation. Of that whole conversation that stuck with me like it had been glued on. As I noticed myself doing it I dug deeper & went to get diagnosed. I actually started by watching a video on ADHD - see the link below for that. Since then the ADHD & Dyslexia connection has only grown - I wanted to share my take on it. Do you sometimes feel hopeless at taking credit? Really accepting that you have done something super well? Is it more likely that you don't really sit with how awesome you are and just run to the next thing? Maybe you have even learned to pretend that you are thankful. If you are like many dyslexics we really struggle to take credit for what we do, to sit in the happiness zone. We feel like we winged it. Move past it on to the next thing at speed and try to not stop long enough to enjoy it. In this episode I show you - you are not along, why it happens and give you a few dyslexic friendly tips to help you out. #dyslexia #dyslexic.

We talk about Reading, Writing & all that stuff (spelling, tracking and more).  We dig into trigger words and similar things - the words people truly struggle with and why. Many of you will be thinking... maybe he has a few things up his sleeve to let us in on. Well you would be right. In this episode we will talk about: - How all kids operate in a dyslexic way up until the age of 3 or 4 - How the phrase 'A picture says 1000 words' can speak to the dyslexic mind with 1 key change - What key challenges come from Dyslexia that no one told you about - Why adults need to understand what happens at the root of dyslexia not just at the leaf level. This podcast is to help Adults with Dyslexia come to terms with the way Dyslexics think. It is super powerful and I hope you love it. Adult Dyslexia is one of the biggest hidden challenges I believe in the world today. Many people live with it undiagnosed, comparing themselves to others and asking - 'why don't i measure up?' Using tools to navigate life that were never mean't for them. It's like at school Dyslexic's were gifted a 6-speed manual Ferrari for a brain - but were only ever taught to drive an automation corolla. It's tough. This is the first episode in a new series as a starting point for Dyslexic's just starting to listen to the Truth About Dyslexia - It is my story. Through it you will get a taste of who I am - learn some lessons on what Dyslexia is and just maybe you will listen on to more. This podcast is 1000% FREE and designed to offer real 'aha' moments that will change peoples lives. I hope you love it and want to spread the word.

The present moment, over thinking - trapped in my head. My head sometimes seems like a prison, me like a robot and like I am not in control. But occasionally i get glimpses of the present moment in reality. They are beautiful. If you struggle to be present - this is for you.

In a recent coaching session - i had a little Aha moment. A realisation about being present in my dyslexic mind. It is one of the reasons I value coaching & helping people is that with every session I grow. I found it so valuable it deserved it's own podcast. In this pod - I touch on: Being Grounded & Present in the Dyslexic Mind Do you have to be present only in reality? How can you bring this practice into challenging times Why I believe Multi-tasking is not as it seems If you enjoy the pod make sure you share it and review it.
