Which impact do remote working people have actually?   People who can work location independently, among them digital nomads, are no longer a nichy niche of a few crazy people out there. Officials and governments start to take this movement seriously. Good for them as there are amazing potentials out there.   Goncalo Hall from Portugal is seeing those potentials, too, and came up with a project no smaller than a digital nomad village. Yes, read again if you can’t quite believe it.   The very first time of this project took part on the Madeira of Portugal.   Listen to a story of an unprecedented enterprise.   In this episode you will learn about... Which challenges and details Goncalo and his team had to consider when merging a local environment with the digital nomads world Which were the key features that made this whole project a success Where the next nomad village is going to happen (whoop whoop!)   __________________________________ Really useful links and material: Digital Nomad Village Madeira: www.digitalnomads.startupmadeira.eu At 04:42 Goncalo speaks about Edo Sadikovic of the rural coworking and coliving project Sende which is located in Galicia, northern Spain. Coliving deluxe next level? Voilà, Katia has it for you! But wait! Until the first digital nomads had walked through the gates of this place there were a few hurdles to take for Katia and her partner.   It might be more than counterintuitive, especially when pursuing a location independent lifestyle, to commit yourself with maybe the biggest thing you’ve ever did in life.   Put your romanticism aside for the next 30 minutes and hear what it really means to have such a mammoth project only even starting.   In this episode you will learn about... How Katia transitioned into a nomadic lifestyle in a time when the term “digital nomad” did not even exist yet What it takes in the core to start your own coworking and coliving project Why you can’t simply transform your guesthouse into a coworking and coliving project (spoiler alert: you’re not covered with a somewhat faster internet connection than before) How you can buy your own castle tomorrow! (Okay no, that’s a lie)   __________________________________ Really useful links and material: Chateau coliving: www.chateaucoliving.com At 04:47 Katia talks about the Nine Coliving Project in Tenerife: www.ninecoliving.com At 26:26 Katia is talking about a cat café which is a concept that first came up in Japan. It’s a café full of cats. Music: Dan Lizard – Happy feelings

Something that gives you money no matter where you wish to be. But what about not having just any random remote job but actually something you care about, you love to do? Natalia Komis from Remote Mission is combining exactly that and is going to share some great insight with us how to get there.   In this episode you will learn about... How to find and get a purpose remote job What companies will really look for in the future Why not everything is gold that shines in the digital nomad world If you have the dream to get on this level you should listen to this episode right now! __________________________________ Really useful links and material: Remote Mission: www.remotemission.com Music: Dan Lizard – Happy feelings

It's been said that Covid-19 has accelerated a bunch of processes which would have otherwise taken much longer under "normal" circumstances. This is certainly true for remote work and everything that revolves around that topic - such as rural coworking and coliving projects which are to become a serious alternative to living in the (big) city. Miloš and Stefan from Serbia are working on such a rural coworking and coliving project called "Nomadica". They take you on a little journey on how to get started and why they region offers great advantages for their project. Nomadica is representative for many more projects of this nature that will appear on the map in the next years - Economadia keeps you up date, feel free to subscribe to our newsletter! __________________________________ Really useful links from the podcast Link Nomadica: www.nomadicateam.com Link to Pozlan (next bigger city with airport is Niš): goo.gl/maps/fpUNvsRTBjFS3LNb7 Mokrin House: www.mokrinhouse.com Coconat Berlin: coconat-space.com LinkedIn Miloš: www.linkedin.com/in/milos-rajkovic-92581517a LinkedIn Stefan: www.linkedin.com/in/stefan-tasic-3b32a91b4

It is when we have bad experiences when we learn most. When shit hits the fan and we have to go through rough times we grow most out them. Our initial idea at Economadia was how the concept of an eco-village and digital nomads could actually go together. That was back in 2016. A few years down the road and with Covid-19 in our world, this thought does not seem to be that far off anymore. But hold on a minute! Creating whatever intentional community is not a walk in the park. Scott discloses a few very great insights of his attempt to create an eco-village in South Africa – and how it miserably failed because of one thing you might not even think of.
