Michele Sorensen, affectionately named the Tea Goddess by her friends, has been serving Afternoon Tea with love & passion since opening Tea at 1024 in Downtown Honolulu in 1999. During the recent pandemic shut down she started a weekly LIVE Tea Chat series on Facebook. “I thought since we were all in lockdown, that it would be a great opportunity to reach out to my fellow tea enthusiasts from around the world and chat with them on a LIVE format. I started in April and have interviewed over 37 business owners from England, Ireland, Africa, Australia, all across the US and locally here in the Islands as well,” says Michele. On Michele’s personal side she travels around the world competing in Ironman races. She is an 8 time Ironman Finisher and has qualified for 3 world championship slots by winning her age group.

Kimo Lauer grew up in Honolulu where he discovered his passion for the visual arts. There he attended Otis/Parson School of Art and Design and began his successful photography career. After finishing high school in Reno, I got my BA from the University of San Diego in 2014, and then went on to get my MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2017. Currently, I am the Creative Director at the Honolulu Design Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. I was introduced to art and design by my father, founder of the Honolulu Design Center, at a very young age. It was always something that interested me, and after going to college and falling in love with all of my art classes, I knew that was my path.

Danielle Groff comes from generations of artists with her grandfather being a significant source of her inspiration. Groff describes her beginnings as an artist as a “mindless hobby” which expanded throughout her home community on the North Shore and later the world! Her paintings embody the sense of happiness and aloha found in her North Shore community which makes them appeal internationally. Her whimsical artwork usually features marine life, seascapes, other Hawaiian landscapes, or significant sites such as Anahulu Bridge. Featuring an array of complementary colors that aren’t usually found in nature, Groff’s work is unique and soothing to view. Her work has been featured in the Maui art gallery, in the Outrigger as a solo exhibit, and more. Groff has been offering painting classes to teach her “Groff Art” style to others after finding a passion for teaching art. These regular classes are on the last Saturday of the month at the Ka Makana Ali’i location of Pictures Plus.

In the 90’s, Lanai was part of Hoku nominated comedy trio “The 3 Local Boys.” With four albums under his belt, you might remember such hits as “Rice Rice Baby,” “I’m A Filipino” or the song that went national, “Me So Hungry.” Lanai is no stranger to international and local TV shows such as Food Network’s Great Food Truck Race, Co-host with Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations, Jake and the Fat Man, Da Braddah’s, Baywatch Hawaii, Hawaii Five-0, and he has also been in a variety of local commercials. He has been touring the mainland doing stand-up comedy openings for Henry Kapono, Andy Bumatai, Augie Tulba, Wayne Brady, and Damon Wayans, to name a few. As a 25- year radio veteran, Lanai co-created the Island 98.5 radio station, and currently is on air in Tokyo and Fukuoka, Japan.

Meet Chris Ramelb Christopher Ramelb, a native of Kaua’i, started his wine career in 2012 as a business analyst for Southern Wine and Spirits after earning a Computer Science degree at University of Hawaii at Manoa. He has since twice represented Hawaii at the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs National Young Somm finals, won the Clore scholarship for the top score at the Certified Sommelier exam, and earned the coveted Johnston Medal in 2016, achieving the highest score for all Advanced Examinations in the calendar year, beating out hundreds of candidates across the globe. He furthered his wine studies on the floor at Vino and Alan Wong’s, and eventually took the post of opening Wine Director at Senia, where he helped earn the restaurant a James Beard nomination for “Best New Restaurant”, and a spot in Wine Enthusiast’s “America’s Top 100 Wine Restaurants” in 2017. He rejoined Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits as the Restaurant Sales Manager and Director of Wine Education in 2018, the same year he first passed the Master Sommelier examination. He loves consuming and learning all things alcohol and is committed to furthering the drinking and hospitality culture in Hawaii. Meet Halia Parish Hali’a Parish is extremely multifaceted. As an actress, singer and dancer she’s performed and taken lead on multiple stages such as Legends in Concert and Disney World. As an artist and professional hula dancer she shares her passion for culture by teaching music to children at Hawaiian charter schools. She’s obtained her Masters Degree in Business Administration and Bachelors in Speech Communication leading her to also take on a career as a television host and entrepreneur. Meet Moani Hara Moani has been in the entertainment industry for 20 years. First as a model, holding the title of Miss Hawaii USA in 2014, and also acting and commercial work in LA. She even played a feature roll in the movie "Snatched" alongside Amy Schumer. You can also catch her in numerous print works, and featured with Ala Moana shopping center. Being born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, this local girl has gained experience making connections within the community as well as being able to create and nourish connections on the mainland. Moani is driven and constantly is searching for how she can push her limits and broaden her horizons in everything she does.
