In today’s episode, I’m on a rant! We’ve reached an era where having adequate bank support and an ethical relationship manager might just be a thing of the past. A simple overdrawn bank overdraft can be reason enough for the bank to drop your business. So, as a business owner, when it comes to business banking solutions, you need to protect yourself by spreading your money out and getting financial support for business from different institutions instead of just one. If you’ll remember, during 2008 or 2009, the banks were in big trouble. This trouble led to an even greater crisis that was felt on a global scale. Across the globe, governments and taxpayers bore the burden of bailing out financial institutions to help them get out of their funk. Recently, the public has fallen into a situation where many people have been left in awkward economic positions because of the pandemic. It's a well-known fact that many individuals and business owners have suffered significant losses since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic and its subsequent lockdown periods. Unfortunately, the banks and financial institutions have failed to return the support in a significant way. For this reason, there has to be a way that business owners can spread their money and not rely on just one bank for financial support for business. Watch the whole video to see why you shouldn’t do your business banking with just one bank and why you should explore banking solutions from more than one institution. --------------------CONNECT WITH PETER BOOLKAH:--------------------http://www.Boolkah.comhttps://www.facebook.com/Boolkahhttps://www.instagram.com/pboolkah/https://www.linkedin.com/in/boolkahhttps://twitter.com/boolkah--------------------ABOUT PETER BOOLKAH--------------------Peter Boolkah (AKA The Transition Guy) is the World’s #1 Business Transition Coach whose main passion in life is to work with talented and high performing business owners who are in the process of creating exciting, high growth businesses. Peter helps you to navigate and transition through the crucial growth pains that all growing businesses experience making it as painless and exciting as possible. It is important to remember that businesses do not just grow and develop on their own, it is up to us and our teams to make this happen by making every day purposeful. As businesses grow some parts of the journey will be easier than others and most owners do not have all the answers. So, why does every business owner need to become great in public speaking for leaders? In today’s episode, I speak to Tom Bailey, the founder of Success Through Speaking, about speaking on camera, podcasting for business, and the need for business owners to be able to communicate their message effectively in a world that's increasingly content consuming. In the past 10 years, video, podcasting and virtual events have enabled us to consume things differently. This transition affects business owners, who, unfortunately, can be reluctant to use those platforms. Their avoidance of speaking is understandable because some people prefer to stay out of the public eye. However, it's no longer advisable, nor is it pragmatic for business owners to shy away from public speaking for leaders. Speaking on camera, podcasting for business, and other platforms are actually very powerful tools, especially as the world shifts from corporate branding to PERSONAL branding. People connect with people. Business owners need to insert more personality into their brands. Succeed Through Speaking is a dynamic organization that helps entrepreneurs, coaches, and consultants become fearless speakers and leaders who can communicate their message to their ideal market with confidence, and position themselves as experts in their niche. Watch the whole video to see why business owners need to master public speaking for leaders, speaking on camera, and podcasting for business in a world that's growing more and more digital AND personal today.  -------------------- CONNECT WITH PETER BOOLKAH: -------------------- http://www.Boolkah.com https://www.facebook.com/Boolkah https://www.instagram.com/pboolkah/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/boolkah https://twitter.com/boolkah  -------------------- ABOUT PETER BOOLKAH -------------------- Peter Boolkah (AKA The Transition Guy) is the World’s #1 Business Transition Coach whose main passion in life is to work with talented and high performing business owners who are in the process of creating exciting, high growth businesses. In this conversation with Yaro Starak, we discuss the benefits of having remote teams and why many businesses are so reluctant to embrace the flexibility of working remotely outside of an office. There are probably many factors involved in why companies are dragging their feet. Many business owners don’t want to give up control. Many are worried that their company culture will suffer. But over the past 20 years, Yaro has proven that it IS possible to run a business remotely without losing any productivity. In fact, the way Yaro Starak sees it, he’s probably been even more productive due to the fact his employees have a greater degree of flexibility while working remotely.  nstead of tracking time spent at a desk, Yaro tracks the output of his remote teams. And he wouldn’t have it any other way. Even company culture has continued to flourish despite the distance between his employees. With so many options available to remote workers these days, it speaks to the cohesiveness of the company that many of them have turned down offers to work elsewhere. Remote teams seem to be the way of the digital age. Now, other companies are starting to catch on to what Yaro Starak realized a long time ago. Pretty soon the morning commute could be a thing of the past. Timestamps: 01:52 - Why companies want their employees to come back to the office 04:02 - Getting over the need to control people 07:58 - Working remotely & company culture 11:22 - The movement towards remote work 15:10 - Hiring challenges 17:12 - What is InboxDone? In this conversation with Donato Tramuto, we discuss the compassionate leadership gap that exists today, and how we, as leaders, can fix it. The old way of managing just doesn’t work anymore. An authoritarian approach to running your business doesn’t lead to trust, cooperation, or long-term well-being. What you need is a compassionate approach. In fact, compassionate leadership is what will make your job easier and more rewarding. So, why does this gap in compassion exist today? Well, as Donato Tramuto points out, the average age of a CEO is 59 years old. The average age of half of the workers below the CEO is under 40 years old. This often means that leaders and employees were brought up to view leadership and work in very different ways. This gap is also what creates age biases. Older people assume the younger generation has poor work ethic and are just technologically savvy. The younger generation assumes the older generation is no longer relevant or able to change. Both are false. The only way to break down these biases is with more communication, more trust, and more compassion. There's nothing weak about being kind. If there’s one thing that Donato Tramuto reveals in this interview, it’s that in order to make the world better, it takes all of us working together. And that can only start with compassion. Timestamps: 00:55 - The compassionate leadership gap 05:12 - The problem with age biases 11:48 - Why you need to build trust before culture 17:54 - How compassionate leadership can increase your well-being  -------------------- CONNECT WITH PETER BOOLKAH: -------------------- http://www.Boolkah.com https://www.facebook.com/Boolkah https://www.instagram.com/pboolkah/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/boolkah https://twitter.com/boolkah  -------------------- ABOUT PETER BOOLKAH -------------------- Peter Boolkah (AKA The Transition Guy) is the World’s #1 Business Transition Coach whose main passion in life is to work with talented and high performing business owners who are in the process of creating exciting, high growth businesses. Imagine being stuck in an office rental with stringent lease conditions when the pandemic happened. Not the most ideal situation to be in, right? Well, today’s guest was lucky enough to dodge this bullet. I talk to founder and CEO of Automation Wolf, Matthew Hunt, about the advantages of having a virtual office and distributed teams, and why team communication is key. As an experienced entrepreneur, Matthew has had multiple businesses. Over the years, he’s had both physical and virtual offices for his teams. He’s run 3 agencies to date, 2 of which have been fully virtual having globally distributed teams, which came in very handy once the pandemic hit. Businesses who get into commercial lease seldom have many rights, which means that the larger, pricier and more sought after the office space, the harsher the lease conditions. While having an office can be impressive for your clients AND it allows for very easy team communication with everybody gathered in a single space, it also comes with many liabilities. It’s a MASSIVE commitment. Add to that the current uncertainty that comes with a global pandemic. Matthew talks more about how he's managed team communication for the globally distributed teams that he's built for his businesses, and shares some tips on running a virtual office effectively, especially at a time when it's an inevitable set up for a lot of companies that want to thrive despite the current situation. Watch until the end to hear more from Matthew Hunt on what it means to run a virtual office with distributed teams, and still maintain effective team communication in today’s business landscape.  -------------------- CONNECT WITH PETER BOOLKAH:-------------------- http://www.Boolkah.com https://www.facebook.com/Boolkah https://www.instagram.com/pboolkah/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/boolkah https://twitter.com/boolkah  -------------------- ABOUT PETER BOOLKAH -------------------- Peter Boolkah (AKA The Transition Guy) is the World’s #1 Business Transition Coach whose main passion in life is to work with talented and high performing business owners who are in the process of creating exciting, high growth businesses. In this conversation with Roger Khoury, CEO and founder of Market Forecasting Academy, we discuss market vulnerability analysis and the benefits of accurately forecasting the market. You see, there are a lot of amateur investors out there who expect to get a professional-level of high returns out of their investments. All too often, however, they end up being disappointed. The thing is, they just don’t have the tools to minimize their risk. Not only that, but they end up adopting the conventional wisdom that tells them that higher returns require more risk, and that less risk entails lower returns. But through market forecasting using the market vulnerability analysis, this old way of thinking gets flipped on its head. As Roger Khoury explains it, when you can accurately predict what the market is going to do, you can ride both the ups and the downs. This kind of tool is invaluable for investors who want to be able to approach their investments with confidence and prudence, while still making consistent returns. Whether you’re brand new to investing or have been doing it for a while, market vulnerability analysis is the market forecasting tool you need so you can gain the confidence to enjoy your investments while steering clear of unnecessary risks.  Watch until the end of this conversation with Roger Khoury to learn more about forecasting the market so you can maximize returns and gain more control over risks. The world is changing, and so is the traditional office space and work environment. As a result, the idea of team productivity is also changing. In today’s episode, I’m joined by Michael Teape, co-founder of Teape Training International, to talk about post-pandemic productivity. The days where productivity meant being physically present in the office and showing up for endless meetings in the traditional office space are over. In the traditional work environment, productivity was judged based on the number of hours worked in a physical office than the actual output. In the past 18 months, we’ve seen so many changes suddenly brought onto us by the pandemic, including remote working, blended working and tech innovations. This has redefined post-pandemic productivity for all of us. However, many are still trying to operate on pre-Covid norms instead of shifting into the post-Covid economy. But teams are made up of diverse individuals who are ever-evolving and flexible. For this reason, the traditional office space and work environment must evolve with the times to prioritize team productivity over “looking busy”. It’s time to embrace the new way of doing business by revisiting the very meaning of productivity itself. Watch this conversation with Michael Teape until the end to learn more about post-pandemic productivity in the workplace. Preparing for the unexpected is not easy. But it's not impossible. We can take a few notes from today's guest, Helen Yu, about this. She shares 4 CRITICAL LESSONS which can help entrepreneurs in accelerating business growth, even in the midst of the sudden global pandemic that shocked us all. And she's learned this from her personal experience of climbing Mount Everest - not having climbed a single mountain in her life before this.Imagine having to climb the highest mountain in the world without any mountain climbing experience. Where do you even start? For Helen, this meant tremendous amounts of preparation during a time when Google wasn't yet everyone’s best friend. She tried as best she could with her resources at the time to prepare for something she hasn't ever done. She combed through library books, and got in touch with connections who've done it before. Preparing for the unexpected is not easy, and it becomes especially harder if you don't know what things you're likely to expect in the first place. This makes preparation a very important part of accelerating business growth, especially during unprecedented times like today. Similar to Helen Yu's journey, it's important that we prepare ourselves physically, mentally, and emotionally when we embark on new journeys to help grow our business. There are 3 more lessons Helen Yu has learned from her journey to climbing Mount Everest. Listen until the end to see what else you can do to start preparing for the unexpected and accelerating business growth today. You might be surprised to discover how much personal journeys can actually propel both your personal and professional growth.--------------------CONNECT WITH PETER BOOLKAH:--------------------http://www.Boolkah.comhttps://www.facebook.com/Boolkahhttps://www.instagram.com/pboolkah/https://www.linkedin.com/in/boolkahhttps://twitter.com/boolkah

Mental fitness is something that everyone can benefit from. With practice, you can learn to start coping with challenges effectively, rather than letting them control you. This is what makes Graham Whiley’s program so valuable. It provides you with the tools that you need in order to overcome obstacles that would otherwise prove to be overwhelming. At the core of Graham’s philosophy is the fact that you're in control of how much stress you suffer. Stressful situations occur in everyone’s lives, that’s for sure. But what you do in those situations is completely up to you. You determine how much stress you feel when coping with challenges. But just as a marathon runner starts by first running shorter races, you build mental fitness and strength over time. Day by day, you can teach yourself that you’re in control of your reactions. Take the pandemic, for example. It affected nearly everyone. And yet, who succeeded? Was it the businesses that buried their heads and despaired? Or was it the ones who looked for opportunities even when there seemed to be nothing on the horizon? You can bet it was the second group. In fact, Graham reminds us that even the simple act of looking for a solution can boost your mood and help you build your mental fitness. A simple shift in your mindset could make a world of difference. Timestamps: 01:08 - What is mental fitness? 03:02 - Why your response to stress matters 05:21 - What does it mean to really start coping with challenges? 12:08 - What are the first steps toward mental fitness?  -------------------- CONNECT WITH PETER BOOLKAH: -------------------- http://www.Boolkah.com https://www.facebook.com/Boolkah https://www.instagram.com/pboolkah/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/boolkah https://twitter.com/boolkah  -------------------- ABOUT PETER BOOLKAH-------------------- Peter Boolkah (AKA The Transition Guy) is the World’s #1 Business Transition Coach whose main passion in life is to work with talented and high performing business owners who are in the process of creating exciting, high growth businesses. Why is it that despite being in the same industry, adapting to change in business has been harder for some businesses than others? As you may already know first-hand, business adaptability is especially critical today, in the middle of a pandemic, with an unprecedented and continuously changing business environment. In today’s episode, I’m joined by mental health and psychology expert Kyran O’Neill. We take a look at a trend that’s making its rounds in the world that I like to call "same storm different boats". The pandemic has touched everyone. However, its effects have been different on different people, with some people feeling it more, and others less. We’ve seen this phenomenon during this global crisis where business owners in the same industry have had very different reactions to pandemic conditions. The only way to explain these differences in level of business adaptability is by looking into the psychology behind them. People interpret their environments differently. They may get the same external stimulus and see the same information and market conditions yet have different psychological responses. Adapting to change in business is crucial when the environment is constantly evolving. With the changing business environment and multitude of information presented to you at any given point, you as a businessperson need to filter it out and ensure that your team, customers, and business are safe despite the conditions. Having a more emotional response to external conditions has led many business owners to be less able to adapt to change. The bottom line is this: We’re experiencing the "same storm different boats" phenomenon in this global crisis. The old world and way of doing business is gone. Those who can adapt faster to the changing business environment will get ahead. Those who fail in adapting to change in business will be left behind. Watch until the end of this episode to hear more about business adaptability in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic.  -------------------- CONNECT WITH PETER BOOLKAH: -------------------- http://www.Boolkah.com https://www.facebook.com/Boolkah https://www.instagram.com/pboolkah/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/boolkah https://twitter.com/boolkah  -------------------- ABOUT PETER BOOLKAH -------------------- Hi, I’m Peter Boolkah, business coach, keynote speaker and winner of over 32 major coaching awards. I know how difficult running a business can be and how overwhelming it can feel when things aren’t going right. One thing I tell my clients is never stop believing in your dreams. Even if you feel your business is wearing you down, you can always find a way to reverse the trend and get back in the game. Many of the entrepreneurs I work with are great leaders and innovators. However, their businesses lack structure, systems and management. If you don’t have all these parts working in harmony, your business won’t reach its potential. Whether the ultimate goal is to keep or sell your business, you want to see growth year-on-year. My transition into business coaching came after spending 15 years at McDonald’s. Working for one of the world’s biggest corporate brands exposed me to all aspects of business and gave me the skills and experience to establish my own company. I know that many entrepreneurs learn by trial and error, but unless you have an endless stream of capital behind you, your chance of success is rare. You often need someone experienced who can analyse your business objectively and put emotions aside when big decisions need to be made.

If you want to begin really growing your business, you have to start embracing and mastering marketing. In this conversation with GreenPal CEO and founder Bryan Clayton, we discuss the various hats that a business owner has to wear, and why marketing is one that is absolutely indispensable. Why is marketing so important? As Bryan Clayton explains, marketing has to be a core competency of the business in order for it to thrive. It has to be baked into the company and ingrained in its DNA from the very beginning. After all, your customers will get to know your business through your marketing. And this means that as a business owner, you need to take ownership of your marketing. Mastering marketing is crucial to growing your business, and you should NEVER abdicate that responsibility. Marketing will allow you to discover the growth engine of your business. But only if you’re guiding the process. For more advice on building and growing your business, watch this entire conversation with Bryan Clayton. In today’s video, I speak to trauma and performance expert Dr. Don Wood about Covid-19's impact on business executives and owners. Over the last 18 months, many changes have occurred that may have been quite traumatic to most of us, whether we're conscious of it or not. Today, we talk about how the pandemic affected businesses and their leaders, and the effects of trauma that this pandemic has caused on performance. The pandemic has been a huge game-changer and can really be a trigger for trauma. If there’s one thing that humans fear the most, it’s uncertainty. In our lifetime, there’s never been a greater period of uncertainty than now. So you can only imagine how the trauma from this pandemic affected business leaders, as much as it's affected a lot of other people. The trauma that accumulates over our lifetime affects the way we act and make decisions. Everyone's familiar with our human fight-or-flight response to stressful situations, but there's actually 3 possible effects of traumatic experiences on us - the third one being to freeze. With the pandemic, many business owners reacted to the unprecedented uncertainty by freezing, just hoping the horror would end and that things would go back to normal. Despite the immense impact on business performance, some just decided to wait it out and give in to their helplessness versus doing the actual pivot that their businesses need. Dr. Don Wood says that, as a result, there’s sure to be a huge amount of emotional issues to follow after all of it being pent up during the freeze. Stay tuned to see what he suggests we can do to resolve our trauma and the effects of trauma on our performance. Timestamps: 00:38 - Trauma and how it can affect us 02:12 - The Freeze response and how the pandemic affected business leaders 06:25 – What can you do to mitigate your response to trauma 08:10 - Working through post-traumatic stress 10:22 – Storing trauma and how you can fix it 13:40 – Can the damage be reversed? In this conversation with Ross Kimbarovsky, founder of Crowdspring, we discuss the future of freelance, self employed jobs, and how businesses can adapt to a changing world. The thing is, the number of freelance jobs is on the rise. But remote work isn't for everyone either. Some people need the structure of a physical office space, while others thrive when they have the flexibility to work independently. For businesses wanting to create strong teams in the middle of these changes we face in the workforce, hiring is going to be a critical component. Ross Kimbarovsky shares that he doesn't just look at resumes anymore. To him, communication is the most important quality and so he evaluates a candidate’s ability to communicate through writing.  The future of freelance work is going to change the way businesses operate. But beyond the increase in self employed jobs and changes in the workforce, businesses will also have to change their messaging to reflect consumer expectations during this post-pandemic period. Watch until the end of this video to hear more of mine and Ross Kimbarovsky's conversation about the future of freelance and self employed jobs, other workforce changes, and how businesses should adapt to this changing world.  Timestamps: 00:32 - The huge shift in the workforce post-pandemic 04:00 - Ross Kimbarovsky’s approach to hiring remote workers 06:58 - What the future of freelance work looks like 11:53 - What entrepreneurs should focus on going forward  -------------------- CONNECT WITH PETER BOOLKAH: -------------------- http://www.Boolkah.com https://www.facebook.com/Boolkah https://www.instagram.com/pboolkah/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/boolkah https://twitter.com/boolkah  -------------------- ABOUT PETER BOOLKAH -------------------- Peter Boolkah (AKA The Transition Guy) is the World’s #1 Business Transition Coach whose main passion in life is to work with talented and high performing business owners who are in the process of creating exciting, high growth businesses. Preventing burnout at work is something that requires attention. Especially with the pandemic easing up, it’s perhaps more important than ever that we learn how to avoid work burnout. In this conversation with Sarah Dawn, we discuss the myth of making up for lost time, and how you can regain your lost income without burning out. The thing is, when you try to make up for all the time you lost at work or in your business during the lockdowns, there are side effects - namely, burnout. It's true that you need to regain lost income, but you don't necessarily need to regain lost time. By doubling the amount of time you work, you'll simply prolong the pain that you’re experiencing because it’s not sustainable. You need a strategy. Specifically, I’m talking about automating and delegating. Tech tools are an easy and cheap way to save you hours in your business. Unfortunately, people are reluctant to change. They’d rather resign themselves to the pain of work burnout than try something that could actually help them start preventing burnout at work. Delegation is equally important. Too many entrepreneurs become martyrs in their business. They think that if they’re not working, they’re not valuable. At a certain point you need to rely on the competent people that you have around you. Otherwise, you’ll never become truly successful. You don’t have to work around the clock to be valuable, and you don’t need to take on every task yourself. In order to start preventing burnout at work, take these two tips Sarah shares into consideration. Work burnout hurts both you and your business. By learning how to automate and develop a competent team for support, you can grow your business without sacrificing your happiness and health.  -------------------- CONNECT WITH PETER BOOLKAH: -------------------- http://www.Boolkah.com https://www.facebook.com/Boolkah https://www.instagram.com/pboolkah/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/boolkah https://twitter.com/boolkah  -------------------- ABOUT PETER BOOLKAH -------------------- Hi, I’m Peter Boolkah, business coach, keynote speaker and winner of over 32 major coaching awards. When society goes through a major change like this global pandemic we're experiencing now, there's a lot of pain that comes with it. But there are also opportunities for career transformation and career changes. In today’s episode, career educator and entrepreneur Misha Rubin shares some insights on how you can build a meaningful career with the unprecedented number of career possibilities that exist now.  With all the information we're taught throughout our lifetime, no one really teaches us how to search for fulfilling and meaningful careers. In the past, it was common for people to have just one career throughout their entire lives, but that’s changing. It's now quite unlikely that one person will stick to one career throughout their life. Some careers even disappear or become irrelevant through time. For this reason, it's become increasingly important to know how to embrace career transformation, and carve out a meaningful career path for yourself. It’s been a painful and grueling year for all of us. But where there’s adversity, there’s also opportunity. There are many career possibilities brought by all the innovations made in the midst of a global crisis. Industries continue to transform, and with that comes new ideas and opportunities. Employers are now more open than they were before to remote working. There’s never been a better time to take leaps for your career transformation, and to start new ventures with the vast pool of information that’s out there. If you're willing to learn, and are bold enough to make career changes or start your career transformation, you can carve out a meaningful career for yourself with the multiple opportunities that are available now.Ready to take that career leap? Management in the industrial age meant having to see a person physically present, and being or “looking” productive. Measuring productivity was rather archaic. But employee time management has changed a lot with the post-pandemic blended working environment. As business owners and leaders, we'll have to do a better job at managing employees remotely, focusing less on standardization, and encouraging employee autonomy. If you do a simple Google search, you’ll find a whole lot of content about productivity. With working from home, homeschooling, household responsibilities, and balancing everything in between, productivity can get really hampered. So what can we do to actually get our time back, and do the things we want to do? Employers and managers now need to allow employees to manage their own time as an entrepreneur would, to whatever degree is realistic. In managing employees remotely, since managers don't necessarily see employees, it's easy to fall into a tendency to micromanage. But micromanaging is a HUGE waste of energy and time for both managers and employees.People are trying to transition into this post-pandemic working environment by mirroring their office environment at home. But what we REALLY should be doing is moving to managing by outcomes. We need to make sure that both manager and employee are really clear on the parameters - the WHAT, the WHY, the WHEN - but give the employee the FREEDOM to figure out the HOW.Over-standardizing and over-prescribing your processes is unnecessary. When we tell people how to do things, we inhibit their ability to come up with new, innovative, different and, sometimes, even better ways to accomplish your goal. When it comes to managing employees remotely, simply guiding employee time management while still allowing space for employee autonomy will be a lot better in the long run than micromanaging. -------CONNECT WITH PETER BOOLKAH:---http://www.Boolkah.comhttps://www.facebook.com/Boolkahhttps://www.instagram.com/pboolkah/https://www.linkedin.com/in/boolkahhttps://twitter.com/boolkah---ABOUT PETER BOOLKAHHi, I’m Peter Boolkah, business coach, keynote speaker and winner of over 32 major coaching awards. The pandemic has caught everyone off guard, especially with the sudden need to shift to digital communication. A lot of us haven't necessarily been used to this, but what if we could close the gap between online communication and in-person interaction using a simple method? Digital Persuasion by Erin King is the ultimate guide for breaking through the restrictions of digital communication by learning a more effective communication style. Many people already struggled with communication pre-pandemic, and those difficulties have been highlighted even more since the move to digital communication. The world has changed, and it likely won't be returning to the way it was. We then need to learn how to bridge the gap between being our in-person self and our digital self. In this video, we tackle how we can address this with Erin King.Erin has been running 2 eCommerce companies and 1 social media agency. She's spent a lot of time working with sales and marketing organizations, helping them figure out how to level up their behind-the-screen communication. She has tested hundreds of strategies and campaigns, which taught her what communication styles work and what doesn’t. Depending on where you are in the world, you may find that most of your communication has gone online. And you'll find that people simply don’t type like they talk. A 2019 study actually found that people are 34 times more persuasive in person than they are on screen. A lot of our communication has become asynchronous - from emails that are read hours after they're sent, to comments that are replied to days after posting - save for video calls, digital communication has definitely been different from the face-to-face and real-time conversations that we're used to.Online communication has paved the way for us to lower our inhibitions. We tend to lack restraint and show up online in ways that we wouldn't be bold enough to in real life. While it can be positive in some aspects, we can end up talking about OURSELVES, OUR agenda, and what WE want a little too much - and the word “I” is the least persuasive word in communication, not to mention how the intention behind it can also be misinterpreted. If your audience can’t see facial expressions or gestures, getting your intentions and meaning across can be very difficult. They're probably also loaded with messages in their inbox which means you have to make sure that your message and communication style stand out. And there’s a certain magic phrase when sending messages that can help you learn effective digital communication. Listen to the entire episode to hear about this and MORE TIPS from the book Digital Persuasion, as shared by the the author herself, Erin King.--------------------CONNECT WITH PETER BOOLKAH:--------------------http://www.Boolkah.comhttps://www.facebook.com/Boolkahhttps://www.instagram.com/pboolkah/

Building rapport with clients is essential for client attraction and client retention, especially during this pandemic when we're beginning to transition into a blending workspace and environment. So how can we enhance selling relationships to equip us to work within today's context? Today I speak to Kathleen Cutler, a high ticket closer, about how best we can bridge the gap between traditional sales techniques and the virtual space to build and keep client relationships. If you’re waiting for things to go back to “normal”, it’s just not likely to happen anytime soon. So, we need to change our mindset and skill up in preparation for the move. With the advent of artificial intelligence in the past 10 years, we’ve become lazy with client relationships. We’ve become automated and unblended in our approach when it comes to building rapport with clients. But the lockdown has just highlighted even more the importance and value of forming selling relationships. Despite the movement to virtual, it's important that we build the same level of familiarity and trust as we have pre-pandemic. While many entrepreneurs believe that the visibility building aspect of sales is the most important, having a website, putting up an Instagram or Facebook page or having a LinkedIn profile is just not enough to keep the customers coming and buying. It's really in the relationship building aspect that you can actively make those sales.Watch until the end of the video to hear more of Kathleen’s recommendations for building selling relationships, especially with high ticket clients. You can also find Kathleen’s Masterclass at https://kathleencutler.com/ --------------------CONNECT WITH PETER BOOLKAH:--------------------http://www.Boolkah.comhttps://www.facebook.com/Boolkahhttps://www.instagram.com/pboolkah/https://www.linkedin.com/in/boolkahhttps://twitter.com/boolkah--------------------ABOUT PETER BOOLKAH--------------------Hi, I’m Peter Boolkah, business coach, keynote speaker and winner of over 32 major coaching awards. Although the pandemic has changed the way businesses operate, many companies have not updated the way they hire employees. In today's episode, I share a conversation with Ira Wolfe, author of the best-selling book Recruiting At The Age Of Googlization. We talk about the several things that you should keep in mind when hiring staff so you can keep up with our fast-changing world.Finding people with the right skills and attitude is not as easy as some may think. There are a lot of people out there, but less of the people are suited to performing at the level you expect them to. What does it take to perform in today’s rapidly evolving companies? First of all, people need to be able to embrace change. Grit and perseverance are useful, but they don’t help you adapt when circumstances require it. When you hire employees, look for people who are willing to adjust the way they operate. When hiring staff, you should also look for mental flexibility. The ability to hold two opposing ideas in your mind at the same time is crucial due to the many perspectives and approaches available to us.Then there’s unlearning. Try to recognize the things you are doing wrong in your hiring process. The faster you pinpoint those problem areas, the faster you will be able to make improvements.Hiring staff in itself is not very hard. But learning to hire employees who will fit the culture and systems of your organization is much more difficult. With these tips that Ira Wolfe and I discuss today, you can enhance your hiring process and get better people who will add more value to your company.--------------------CONNECT WITH PETER BOOLKAH:--------------------http://www.Boolkah.comhttps://www.facebook.com/Boolkahhttps://www.instagram.com/pboolkah/https://www.linkedin.com/in/boolkahhttps://twitter.com/boolkah--------------------ABOUT PETER BOOLKAH--------------------Hi, I’m Peter Boolkah, business coach, keynote speaker and winner of over 32 major coaching awards. In today's video, I talk to Tracey Bissett, financial coach and the CEO and CFO of Bissett Financial Fitness Inc. We chat about financial fitness heading into a growth economy, the importance of financial literacy and strengthening financial acumen for entrepreneurs, and how to build a reliable financial foundation to achieve financial stability. Generous handouts were given to businesses in countries like the UK and Canada over the course of this pandemic, and they needed to be there for our industries to survive. But with economies starting to open up, danger has been coming up with subsidies beginning to wind back. While some companies remain to be in a strong financial position despite the pandemic, there are a number that have had to rely on subsidies for financial stability. And now that governments are slowly cutting on support for businesses, only those able to stay on top of their numbers and watch over their financial fitness can quickly pivot to make changes so that their businesses adapt. Financial literacy and getting entrepreneurs to strengthen their financial acumen will ultimately lead to sound business decisions, especially when coming up with strategies through these tough times. To be accountable for the financial results of your business, you have to KNOW YOUR NUMBERS. That doesn't mean you have to do the bookkeeping or accounting yourself, you can definitely bring in outside help for this. All it takes to build a great financial foundation is to orient yourself with what your bookkeeper deals with and learn how to ask questions. When you don't understand specific details, start by asking open-ended ones which can then help lead you to ask more specific questions. Whether you want to seek the help of a financial coach or not, it's ON YOU as a business owner and leader to build on your financial acumen and consistently look after your company's financial fitness. While finance may not necessarily be your strong suit, small improvements lead to significant outcomes!  -------------------- CONNECT WITH PETER BOOLKAH: -------------------- http://www.Boolkah.com https://www.facebook.com/Boolkah https://www.instagram.com/pboolkah/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/boolkah https://twitter.com/boolkah  -------------------- ABOUT PETER BOOLKAH -------------------- Hi, I’m Peter Boolkah, business coach, keynote speaker and winner of over 32 major coaching awards. What does it mean to future proof your career and company? As humans, we are naturally inclined to deal with the most immediate and pressing of needs. But, according to Maulik Parekh, for leaders and CEOs, future proofing careers and businesses means having to focus on imperative factors like embracing artificial intelligence, digital transformation and the gig economy. Maulik Parekh was inspired to write his book, Futureproof Your Career And Company, after realizing the extent to which everyone was focused on surviving the pandemic vs looking long-term. So many leaders took their eyes off the horizon, forgetting the growing trends of artificial intelligence, digital natives, and the gig economy. The business landscape has changed, and it continues to change. So, as a business leader, if you don’t prepare for them, you may come to experience a different kind of pandemic in the next 10 years. Businesses that have managed to embrace the internet have undoubtedly emerged victorious during this pandemic. But some still fight this need for digital transformation, especially when they start to think that it's about buying the latest and the greatest technology out there, and then putting it into their legacy system - which isn't the case.  In fact, digital transformation isn't mainly about technology.  The thing is, as business owners, we all want financial freedom. However, unless we find a way to get our money working for us, we risk creating a job rather than a business.  Wealth mentor Jackson Millan talks about how he grew up watching his parents working hard without truly being able to generate wealth for themselves, and how this early experience made him want to teach people the language of money - something that is not taught in school. When his job as a financial advisor didn’t feel quite right to him, he decided to carve out his own space teaching people how to have financial freedom.  When it comes to COVID, most small business owners were grossly underprepared. One of the biggest problems was that people didn't have an emergency fund that they could draw upon. One thing Jackson teaches as a wealth mentor is that there will always be another potential disaster. In order to have financial freedom and generate wealth, you need to be prepared for that possibility.  At the core of Jackson’s work is the Profit Accelerator Framework. This is a method that he has developed that allows business owners to set a profit goal and work backwards from there. With a clear destination in mind, it becomes much easier to figure out the steps you need to take to reach your target.  If you want to generate wealth, you have to learn to adapt. With a wealth mentor like Jackson Millan, you can make sure you always stay relevant and continue to grow well into the future. It is important to remember that businesses do not just grow and develop on their own, it is up to us and our teams to make this happen by making every day purposeful.  As businesses grow some parts of the journey will be easier than others and most owners do not have all the answers. Getting clear on what Jim Collins calls your Profit per X - that is, the economic engine that drives your business - is going to help you achieve your 3HAG and BHAG goals down the line. However, many entrepreneurs put off this critical planning until quite late in their development process. For Shannon Susko, planning out your Profit per X right away has enormous benefits. First of all, Profit per X comes from the Hedgehog Concept of Jim Collins. The Hedgehog Concept, which allows your business to transform from 'Good to Great', comes about from answering these 3 key questions: 1) What are you deeply passionate about? (Knowing your Business Purpose) 2) What can you be the best in the world at? (Knowing your Core Business) 3) Can you make money doing it? (Knowing your economic engine or Profit per X) Putting the answers side-by-side with the Key Function Flow Map of your business will allow you and your team to get a clear idea of the non-fiscal elements of your business, and how they contribute to your overall profitability. This sets the team at the same level of understanding about your business. According to Shannon Susko, what's good about establishing the Profit per X early on is that it gives everyone confidence that the BHAG is something that's achievable. It allows everyone to see how they're going to sustain and make money with the company. Your BHAG and 3HAG statements then don't appear too far off, knowing that your Profit per X, otherwise known as the economic engine of your business, will propel you to reach those goals. By using these concepts from Jim Collins as tools to gain clarity on your business, your team will be able to move forward CONFIDENTLY together. In this enlightening interview with Shannon Susko, she describes the origins and meaning of Metronomics and why alignment in business is the key to long-term success. The word, Metronomics, was created by looking at what goes into building up a system in business. Shannon Susko realized early on that systems allow businesses to grow faster because they take away much of the day-to-day struggle that entrepreneurs often grapple with. But a good system is more than just a plan. In order to truly achieve alignment in business, you need to build a team that is fully behind your goals and objectives - which is one of the keys to Metronomics. It is important to understand that Metronomics is a progression. Shannon Susko emphasizes that it is a regimen that is practical and adjustable. Just as a health regimen helps us to get our bodies in shape, this is a prescribed approach that will really get your business going in the right direction. One important aspect of this is connecting a culturally-strong, cohesive team to a well-designed plan. When you connect players to a plan, you end up with an entire team of high performers rather than just individuals. When you use Metronomics to create alignment in business, you can unify all aspects of your business systems. This will allow your business to be much more successful because you'll get to focus on what matters most.  ------------------- CONNECT WITH PETER BOOLKAH: --------------------  http://www.Boolkah.com https://www.facebook.com/Boolkah https://www.instagram.com/pboolkah/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/boolkah https://twitter.com/boolkah  -------------------- ABOUT PETER BOOLKAH --------------------  Peter Boolkah (AKA The Transition Guy) is the World’s #1 Business Transition Coach whose main passion in life is to work with talented and high performing business owners who are in the process of creating exciting, high growth businesses. With “Metronomics,” Shannon Susko has created a proven system that helps accelerate business growth plans. In this conversation, she breaks down what this system entails and why it is so impactful. As she mentions, everyone wants to focus on the 3HAG systems because they're tangible. But there are four other systems that are equally (if not more) important. There's a cultural system, a cohesive system, a human system, and a coaching system. Unfortunately, many business owners pay little attention to these other systems because they are not as obvious as things like strategy, execution, and cash. With “Metronomics,” Shannon Susko adds to those crucial 3HAG areas and offers a prescriptive approach that any business owner can follow. At its core, a business is a team. And what do all successful teams have in common? They have a repeatable system, a high level of openness and cohesiveness, and an expert coach who can remove blind spots. Whether it’s in sports or in business, these elements are the keys to remaining successful year after year. This book goes beyond the hard edge systems and focuses on the people that make a business what it is. Once you have your system down, it will set you free because you will have more time and energy to devote to other aspects of your business. What “Metronomics” offers above all, is a practical and prescriptive approach that leads to impactful results. I hope you enjoy this fascinating conversation with Shannon Susko! If anything in this video resonated with you, be sure to “like,” share, and subscribe to the channel!  -------------------- ABOUT PETER BOOLKAH -------------------- Peter Boolkah (AKA The Transition Guy) is the World’s #1 Business Transition Coach whose main passion in life is to work with talented and high performing business owners who are in the process of creating exciting, high growth businesses. There are always going to be challenges faced by entrepreneurs. What often separates the successful businesses from those that fail is how adept they are at dealing with adversity. In this conversation with Mitch Russo, he describes the challenges that he faced while building an eight-figure business, and how he was able to overcome them. One of the key principles that Mitch adhered to from the beginning was to sell a quality product to the right people. Once you figure out who to target, it makes marketing a whole lot easier. You can orient your marketing to match precisely the people who will be interested in your product. One of the biggest challenges faced by entrepreneurs is recession. But as Mitch explains, he has a unique way of dealing with adversity. When he experienced the last recession, he decided that he was in a period of expansion. Just because the economy is suffering as a whole doesn’t mean that you have to suffer along with it. The final piece of advice that Mitch offers is to make sure you have a coach who can hold you accountable. Having a coach is an effective approach for dealing with adversity because a coach can help you to think outside of the box and pivot when your old business model is failing. Despite the challenges faced by entrepreneurs, there are always possibilities for continued growth and success. Mitch Russo shows us that even in the face of adversity there is always a way forward. Is fear holding you back? Fear in business is a lack of certainty about what the future holds. But what matters is not whether or not you feel fear; rather, it’s how you choose to deal with it. This past year has been tough for many entrepreneurs. Yet, some people have found ways to thrive. What often makes the difference between failure and success is one’s relationship to fear and uncertainty.  The key is to not focus on things that are out of your control. Take the pandemic, for example. There were many things that were out of our control. In order to feel comfortable again, many people chose to watch more TV or eat more junk food. But if there’s fear holding you back, you need to focus on taking control of your situation. Rather than succumbing to the fear in business, look for new opportunities. Ask yourself what kinds of doors your situation has opened for you.  This is what Brian Lovegrove helps his clients with on a daily basis. He frees them from their fears by showing them how to take action and avoid paralysis. The world has changed in the past year, and it will continue to change. If you can learn to take one step at a time and embrace new possibilities rather than run from them, then you will be able to eliminate fear in business. And when there’s no fear holding you back, you can achieve amazing results. If anything in this video resonated with you, be sure to “like,” share, and subscribe to the channel! How can you double a business during a recession? The answer lies in pivoting your business, increasing advertising spend, and taking calculated risks. Ad Lab is an excellent example of a business that has managed to double itself, seeing exponential business growth throughout the recession.  Lockdown has been rough on many businesses. Some businesses responded to the uncertainty in the market by reducing business costs for fear of revenue loss, but unfortunately, many of them have still suffered significant losses.  Other businesses have done the opposite, choosing instead to invest more resources in advertising and take more risks. That has definitely paid off.  One such business is Ad Lab (The Advertising Lab).  So how did David Newman manage to double his business during the lockdown? David is the founder and managing director of Ad Lab. His company has positioned itself as a specialist in Magento websites, helping companies grow their sales online. During the lockdown, his business intensified its advertising and helped other companies grow their revenue in different marketplaces. Recognizing that sales is the lifeblood of any business and that advertising is a brilliant way to increase sales, his business has exceeded its target multiple times in a very short space of time. Time Stamps: 00:30 – How did David’s journey begin? 01:08 – How setting targets pushed David's company to exponential business growth. 02:24 – Adapting business strategies to lockdown constraints. 05:00 – Why increasing advertising spend during the lockdown was important. 06:15 – The importance of companies being confident in their advertising. 07:38 – Where has the biggest growth come from in other businesses? 10:50 – There’s no more going back to normal. 12:16 – The danger of the “short wind” in pivoting your business. 13:12 – So, what’s next for David Newman’s business? 18:09 – Looking forward: setting future targets. Agility in business is more essential now, during the pandemic, than it has ever been. Most businesses need to reinvent themselves as agile start-ups simply because so much has changed in a short space of time. My guest today, Simon Severino is the CEO of Strategy Sprints. Having run a business for 17 years, Simon has created a system to help make it easier for you to run your business. He's created a blueprint (which also includes reporting systems and 274 templates) for how to run an agile business that is also resilient, regardless of what's going on in the world. In our conversation, Simon and I discuss the challenges of running a business and how to overcome them. The truth is, running a business is hard. You might have one week you feel like you’re moving forward, followed by two weeks of what feels like moving backward. There’s always something changing, so many moving parts, and that’s why it’s absolutely necessary to have agility in business.  What does it mean to be agile? Is it to be the biggest, strongest or fastest? Or does it entail being the fittest? “Your company needs to be built more like Lego than like Duplo". Discover exactly what Simon means by this, and how, with the right reporting systems and strategic tools, you can be like this too. It's time to start changing. Remember, failing to learn is learning to fail. In a world where we constantly experience change, learning how to adapt to a new way of thinking is essential. In today’s video, Francis Cholle discusses his bestselling book “Squircle.” What is a Squircle? According to Francis, Squircle is the result of a “square and a circle coming together.”But what does that mean? Circle represents our ability to thrive in chaos, while square represents our logical state. Squircle is where your logical mind and instinctual attitudes come together to enable you to develop a new skill set. Basically, in today’s world, every day is a move from predictability to uncertainty. Everything needs to be reinvented at any given moment because a newer kind of decision-making logic is necessary in order to cope with the change. The reality for the business world is that the pandemic has placed us in the biggest case of unpredictability that we’ve ever seen. Fortunately, a lot of entrepreneurs have managed to adapt in many ways. Knowing how to adapt as you go is critical for survival. As Francis Cholle says, “You have to lose time to gain time.” The old way is gone. Remember, failing to learn is learning to fail. Writing a bestseller can seem almost impossible to any aspiring author, but can you write a bestselling book without the stress and time-consuming elements of the publishing process? The answer is yes. Vikrant Shaurya, the CEO and founder of bestsellingbook.com, wrote his first book when he was 19 years old. He made $27. That’s how he began to understand how the publishing world works. He realized that business owners, thought leaders, coaches, and consultants know that they want to write a book to share their ideas. They have amazing ideas and stories to share, but they lack time to write books about them. That was the gap. He saw it, and he went for it. But why should you write a book? As a thought leader in your field, publishing a bestselling book increases your credibility and sets you up in the public eye as an authority on the topic. You want to set yourself apart from the crowd and establish your authority. A bestselling book can help you generate leads, secure speaking engagements, and basically allow you to pitch for anything. How can you go about it?There are many different avenues you can pursue to get your book published. Writing a bestseller is possible. With the new Clubhouse app getting a lot of hype in the media lately, I have decided to do a Clubhouse review to give you my perspective of this new and intriguing social media platform. This is a relatively new platform that has only been out since May. Since it grabbed my attention, I decided to give it a try. So, what are my thoughts? I have to say that I like the idea of Clubhouse. This is a platform that centres around drop-in audio chats. Essentially, it is like having a bunch of live podcasts that you can choose from. However, a major difference between current podcasting and the Clubhouse app is that in these conversations, you as the listener have the ability to participate. When a speaker is finished, you can ask a question. Now, my Clubhouse review wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the downsides that I noticed. One thing that I noticed was that the rooms sometimes had 2000 people listening. When you have rooms that big, it becomes very difficult to participate. I also noticed some people spending many hours on the Clubhouse app. It can be addicting. You have to be intentional about what you want to get out of it if you’re going to avoid wasting time.Overall, my Clubhouse review is positive. This is an app that has the potential to be great. Just remember to be intentional, and be selective about who you choose to listen to.If anything in this video resonated with you, be sure to “like,” share, and subscribe to the channel!--------------------CONNECT WITH PETER BOOLKAH:--------------------http://www.Boolkah.comhttps://www.facebook.com/Boolkahhttps://www.instagram.com/pboolkah/https://www.linkedin.com/in/boolkahhttps://twitter.com/boolkah--------------------ABOUT PETER BOOLKAH--------------------Peter Boolkah (AKA The Transition Guy) is the World’s #1 Business Transition Coach whose main passion in life is to work with talented and high performing business owners who are in the process of creating exciting, high growth businesses. What are some of the investment opportunities that are out there? Venture capitalists have been making good use of their revenue in order to invest in industries that are starting to get more popular.A lot of investment opportunities have shown themselves for a variety of companies and industries. And these organizations exhibit a lot of potential for growth in the future. There are so many new ideas that have changed the marketplace. And together with them, new payment systems have been helping with their growth. Before technology made it easy to create communities or start social networks, fewer venture capitalists were aiming for these sectors. But as more people started using things like social media and online education, investment opportunities began to show themselves. And venture capitalists have jumped on the chance to invest in startups that were organized around those areas.--------------------CONNECT WITH PETER BOOLKAH:--------------------http://www.Boolkah.comhttps://www.facebook.com/Boolkahhttps://www.instagram.com/pboolkah/https://www.linkedin.com/in/boolkahhttps://twitter.com/boolkah--------------------ABOUT PETER BOOLKAH--------------------Peter Boolkah (AKA The Transition Guy) is the World’s #1 Business Transition Coach whose main passion in life is to work with talented and high performing business owners who are in the process of creating exciting, high growth businesses. Today I'd like to share my takeaways and lessons from Bill Gates derived from the past year. Despite everything that's happened, have you been feeling gratitude for what humanity has accomplished?Everyone is so busy with making a profit and being individually successful that we have a tendency to forget our essence as human beings. We forget that with unity and working together, we can accomplish so much!Despite being faced with something that threatened our survival, one thing we can be proud of is how we've been pulling through so far.And with all the advancements we've made in the previous year alone in terms of medicine, it begs the question, what other goals can we accomplish by working together?--------------------CONNECT WITH PETER BOOLKAH:--------------------http://www.Boolkah.comhttps://www.facebook.com/Boolkahhttps://www.instagram.com/pboolkah/https://www.linkedin.com/in/boolkahhttps://twitter.com/boolkah--------------------ABOUT PETER BOOLKAH--------------------Peter Boolkah (AKA The Transition Guy) is the World’s #1 Business Transition Coach whose main passion in life is to work with talented and high performing business owners who are in the process of creating exciting, high growth businesses. Being a leader means setting a good example for others to follow. On the other hand, bad leadership can have a corrosive influence on an organization. Take Donald Trump, for example.Every outgoing president has certain privileges when it comes to granting pardons; however, Trump’s use of pardons can only lead one to question his character.Paul Manafort was convicted for meddling in the 2016 elections; Roger Stone was convicted for lying to Congress about Hilary Clinton's leaked emails; Charles Kushner was convicted and sentenced to two years in prison for tax evasion. Then there's the Blackwater contractors who were involved in the 2007 Fallujah massacre, and Michael Flynn, who was convicted for election tampering. It is simply bad leadership to give these convicted individuals pardons. But it’s not just Donald Trump who engages in nepotism, nor does it only take place in the political sphere. Being a leader in business carries its own responsibilities, it’s privileges, and pitfalls. For example, when managers reward employees who are performing badly, it sends a damaging message to the rest of the organization. It erodes team unity and causes internal divisions that are often difficult to repair. How would you feel if you were passed over for someone who consistently performed worse than you?Bad leadership frays the fabric of any organization, whether that’s a business or government. Being a leader means making your team better. That means holding people to the same standards, and rewarding based on merit, not connections. If anything in this video resonated with you, be sure to “like,” share, and subscribe to the channel!--------------------CONNECT WITH PETER BOOLKAH:--------------------http://www.Boolkah.comhttps://www.facebook.com/Boolkahhttps://www.instagram.com/pboolkah/https://www.linkedin.com/in/boolkahhttps://twitter.com/boolkah--------------------ABOUT PETER BOOLKAH--------------------I’m Peter Boolkah, The Transition Guy. For every chance you don’t take, there’s a potential for a missed opportunity. A decision not to hear an offer could leave you feeling regret years later.I’m thinking about Elon Musk's claim that at one point he offered to sell Tesla to Apple. Apparently, Tim Cook wouldn't take the meeting. At the time, Tesla was developing the Model 3. Unfortunately, Tesla ran into massive manufacturing issues. They couldn't get the cars out quickly enough, and when they got them out, there were defects. He was running out of money, and he had overextended his cash due to the delays. So, he had to look at the options. And he was looking to sell Tesla at one-tenth of its current market value. That is a HUGE bargain, and a massive missed opportunity. Apple has done lots of acquisitions and is cash rich. I wonder what Tim Cook was thinking in turning down one of the greatest opportunities in business? That being said, how many of these Tim Cook moments have you had? I know I’ve had several; many of them I’ve come to regret. The model 3 is now the best selling luxury car in the US. Imagine, to be able to buy such a successful company at one-tenth of the current market value. What an incredible missed opportunity. It just goes to show that you’ve got to stay open to opportunities in business. You never know when the next one will come knocking.--------------------CONNECT WITH PETER BOOLKAH:--------------------http://www.Boolkah.comhttps://www.facebook.com/Boolkahhttps://www.instagram.com/pboolkah/https://www.linkedin.com/in/boolkahhttps://twitter.com/boolkah--------------------ABOUT PETER BOOLKAH--------------------I’m Peter Boolkah, The Transition Guy. Many companies have well-crafted strategies, but unless their people learn how to execute a plan, nothing will come to fruition. This is the primary reason why so many companies out there are failing to execute their plans. At the end of the day, having a strategy is great; but getting people to implement it is something entirely different. Business plans are all about growing the company and creating lofty goals. But is your team equipped to execute a plan that is truly ambitious? Strategy and execution need to go hand in hand, otherwise you go nowhere. Why are people a point of failure for so many businesses? To use a football analogy, there was a lower division team that was recently moved up. However, after one season they were relegated back down. The problem was that they didn’t have the substitutes to sustain a high level of performance throughout the season. When it comes to a strategic plan, people often come in with energy. But over time the company starts to regress back to where it started because the team doesn’t step up.Find out who on your team wants to learn, grow, develop, and deliver fantastic results. These are the people you need to mentor. When you have a team that’s able to execute a plan effectively, you’ll have a much easier time achieving the results you want. Make strategy and execution a key part of your success in 2021.

Have you taken time out to do business planning for the coming year? What does your plan look like for 2021?I'm still amazed at how many businesses go into the next year without planning out what they want to achieve. What's the difference between all of those companies that succeeded in 2020 and those that did not? If everyone has the same opportunities, why does one person take advantage of them and another person doesn’t? It often simply comes down to planning. People say to me that it's difficult to do business planning with so much uncertainty out there. But the thing is, there's always going to be uncertainty. There's never going to be a perfect time to plan, and there's never going to be a perfect plan to create. But it’s still important to start planning for 2021.By going through the planning process, you give yourself the best opportunity for success -- even as things around you change. Think about where you want your business to go, and stick to that plan. Just because you don't have experience planning, don't let that stop you. Find someone who can help you go through the business planning process. By planning for 2021, you’ll have a map that will help direct you through uncertain times. Once you know where you’re going and how to get there, the path becomes a whole lot easier.

The answer is, it depends! Certain industries, like the medical industry for example, are hot commodities right now. These types of companies are selling for big multiples. If you're in a "hot" industry, then YES now is a great time to be selling. However, the reality is that for most industries now is NOT a good time to sell. If you're in hospitality or retail, it's actually a really bad time to sell. With that said, one person's loss is another person's gain and when it comes to buying a business we're fasting approaching "buy time!"I believe that by Q2 of 2021 many businesses that are currently being artificially propped up and sheltered from the recession will unfortunately have their bubble popped. When the economy starts to turn in Q1 or Q2, these companies will really start to feel the heat. Access to cash will become harder and, most likely, their credit ratings will have taken a hit meaning creditor payment terms will change. As they will be asked to make payments upfront, and managing their cashflow will become harder as cash reserves dwindle, a lot of these companies will be up for grabs at a discount. If you're a buyer, there will be a lot of potential deals to be had. You'll need to be shrewd with your business valuations. Don't pay over the odds as there will be plenty of excellently priced opportunities.By 2024/25 as we progress into the next economic cycle, investment will pick up and I think that'll be a great time for selling a business again. If you're buying a business, or if you'd like my help putting your business for sale in order to get the maximum valuation please get in touch with me at http://www.Boolkah.com
