The St. Anthony's football team ended their season with another loss to their rival Iona Prep over the weekend in the NY Catholic League semifinals. After trailing 21-7, the Friars came back to send the game to overtime with five seconds remaining. Iona came away with the win in double-overtime, sending them to championship game. St. Anthony's ends the season at 6-4 with many starters returning for next season.

The St. Anthony's Friars took home a big win in the Catholic Football playoffs over the weekend with a 42-28 win over Cardinal Hayes. The Cardinals bounced the Friars from the playoffs in the previous two seasons, and now St. Anthony's will get another crack at top-seeded Iona Prep, who St. Anthony's held the lead against for the majority of the game and lost. That game will be on Saturday.

The Friars picked up another win before the start of the Catholic Football League playoffs with a big win over St. Francis Prep by a score of 44-7 in the final week of the regular season. They now gear up for the quarterfinals where they have received a home game against Cardinal Hayes. St. Anthony's beat Hayes earlier in the season, but the Cardinals are hot, coming off an overtime upset over Archbishop Stepinac, who beat the Friars earlier in the season. The big game will be at Friday night at 7 p.m.

St. Anthony's lost a rare in game in the Catholic football league two weeks ago, but on Saturday they went up against the Number one team in New York State. The Friars held a 20-point lead in the third quarter, but fell apart in the fourth, coming up just two yards short of the win at the very end of the game. The Friars will have a very good chance of seeing them again in thee playoffs, after their final regular season game of the year on Saturday against St. Francis Prep.

The St. Anthony's Friars football team responded a in a big way on Friday night after losing to Archbishop Stepinac 40-36. On Friday, they put all of that behind them in a 42-6 beatdown over Moore Catholic at home who was previously ahead of the Friars in the Standings. St. Anthony's used the passing game on the offensive end once again with contributions from two quarterbacks this week. They now gear up for a big test next weekend as they take on Iona Prep who is No. 1 in all of New York State.

The Friars loss their first league game of the year in dramatic fashion on Saturday as the Archbishop Stepinac Crusaders used big plays in the fourth quarter to beat the Friars despite trailing by nine in third quarter and by three with two minutes remaining. The Friars will now regroup for another tough league game Next Friday for Playoff positioning.

St. Anthony's has been on a roll ever since a loss in week one and continues to rise the New York State football Rankings. This week the Friars took down St. Peter's by a score of 42-8 improving their record to 3-1. They will head home for a contest with Archbishop Stepinac on Saturday afternoon.

Dante Torres and Korey Duff Jr. shined once again for the Friars as they look to continue their win streak, heading into the bulk of their CHSFL schedule, now holding first place while rising in the New York State Rankings.
