Northwest Guilford started out flat on offense and Ardrey Kell was able to capitalize and execute as they rout Northwest Guilford 62-7. Early turnovers from the Northwest offense gave Ardrey Kell short fields and before you knew it, it was 21-0 in the 1st quarter alone. Ardrey Kell having an explosive and effcient offense was able to pour it on rather quickly and Northwest couldn't get out the hole. With this being the last game of season, Northwest Guilford's goal for the offense is to rebuild, reload, and prepare the next group of guys for the championship run. With the playoffs on the line, the Vikings absolutely needed to win this last regular season game and they delivered coming back to win against Southwest Guilford 37-33. Down 14-8 at the half, the Vikings exploded in the 3rd quarter scoring multiple TDs thanks to starting QB Tanner Ballou. The momentum casued by offense allowed the defense to get key stops late in the game and Southwest couldn'r capitalize. In a must win situation, the Northwest Guilford Vikings came up short against the Southeast Guilford Falcons 17-15. Northwest stuffed Southeast in the end zone for a safety with under five minutes left to cut the score to 17-15, then Northwest drove the ball to the 8-yard line with under three minutes left. The ball slipped out of Tanner Ballou’s, Vikings starting QB, hand on a keeper and was recovered by Southeast Guilford’s defense. Southeast then proceeded to run the clock out to walk away with the win. Coming off 3 straight losses, the Vikings were in a desperate need to come out with a win and they did more than that when they dominated the Ragsdale Tigers 51-6, improving their record to 4-4. Being able to regroup as a squad and play for one another was the motto for the Vikings this week and it showed on offense dominating in the trenches and gaining a lead early. The defense only allowed one score late in the 4th as the backups and younger kids for the Vikings were able to get some reps in and provide for their team. The Vikings look to carry this momentum next week when they host the Southeast Guilford Falcons, whom are currently on a 3-game win streak.

Northern Guilford, the #2 ranked team in the state, were able to explode on the ground for 291 yards and 4 TDs as they beat Northwest Guilford 48-14. Penalties and turnovers hurt the Vikings early and it allowed Northern Guilford to get an early lead. For the past three games, the Vikings defense has had some issues stopping the ground game and Northern Guilford was able to make them pay for it. Coming off a loss against Grimsley, Northwest Guilford comes up short against the Page Pirates 34-13. The Vikings were commanding drives diwn the field, totaling 219 yard in the first half to be down only a score at the half. Page were able to score on a couple of turnovers from Northwest Guilford absolutely dominating on the ground 51 times for 351 behind Page's star RB, Trevon Hester (28 carries 240 yards 3TDs). Having long fields to work with due to penalties didn't help the Vikings either. The top ranked Whirlies were able to rout Northwest Guilford 55-21 to improve 5-0 on the season. Guilford had a 14-7 lead early in the game until Grmisley was able to get things under control after an interception gave them all the momentum that they needed for the rest of the game. Multiple costly turnovers for the Vikings led to TDs by Grimsley and they were able to score 27 straight in the 3rd quarter to ultimately pull away. Northwest Guilford travels to take on Page who is currently on a two game win streak.

Coming off a bye healthy and motivated, Northwest Guilford were able to wreck havoc once againt with their shutout win against Western Guilford 43-0. Defense flew to the ball stopping every run and pass Western Guilford threw their way. The offense starteed slow commiting penalites and only getting one score the entire first half but they were able to remain calm and they pulled away in the second half. Coach Wallace mentioned his kids need to stay level headed and keep faith in their ability as they host the undefeated reigning champs, the Grimsley Whirlies

Northwest Guliford traveled to R.J. Reynolds to take on the demons and their high powered offense did not disappoint racking up over 300 yards throught the air and completely shutting out the demons in the second half to win 41-21. Coach Wallace prasied the athletic ability of his receivers and how they came out and made plays they never made before. They host the Western Guilford Hornets September 17th after the bye week.

Due to complications with Covid on North Davidson's side, the game has to be postponed on saturday and it was a good one for Northwest Guilford. After a blowout loss to East Forsythe the past week, NW Guilford bounced back with their own blowout win versus North Davidson 43-14. Only allowing a score each half, the defense was able to key in every drive and stop the black knights from putting the ball in the endzone. QB Tanner Ballou was absurd going 16/24 222 yards 4 passing TDs and 1 rushing TD. Amazing performance for a QB on his 2nd start ever. They travel to play Rj Reynolds next week.

Vikings head coach Kevin Wallace joins Tyvon Hodge as he discusses his week 1 loss against East Forsythe 48-7. A young and inexperienced team is causing some growing pains for the Vikings as they try to work out the kinks next week, when they travel to North Davidson.
