Hey, y’all. I am Shay. This is thebuzzr podcast. On air indie, from my pad to yours over the airways.Today in the show, THE BANQUETS! “The Banquets are an alt rock/pop 4-piece that formed in Leeds during 2018. They’ve been described as “a modern-day Fleetwood Mac” and have attracted wide acclaim during their time as a band.”Gemma Dee, Leon Russell-Hills & Sir Francis Watson join me to discuss the band updates & spin their new release “Mary Mary”.Thank you for tuning in tonight. Enjoy the show!Cheers!Shay Tracks "The Pieces" 11:42"Mary Mary" 21:11 Band Bio The Banquets are an alt- rock/pop trio from Leeds with talent in their souls and ambition in their hearts. They had an explosive arrival to the music scene in 2019 and 2020, making an appearance at the Great British Folk Festival, and supporting the likes of The South (formerly The Beautiful South) and legendary icon Toyah Wilcox. The Banquets’ music is a simple mix of rock, blues, and pop music, whilst maintaining the great tradition of British rock. The musical influences of the band stretch far and wide, and go right back to the early 20th century blues scene. Their sound is hugely impacted by the music that has flowed out of America over the last century, and like most British music, it reflects back that sound and rubs in some northern British magic.https://youtu.be/Qa7hGZAxgWIIndie music, Indie Music Video, Country Folk Music, Carol King style delivery. Hey, y’all. I am Shay. This is thebuzzr podcast. On air indie, from my pad to yours over the airways. Today on the show, the rock band The Metal Byrds from Houston, United States. Lead singer Suzanne Birdie and guitarist Sly Rye share the band’s new music off the latest release. Think classic metal rock with a Nirvana edge. Love this band! Thank you for tuning in tonight. Enjoy the show! Cheers! Shay Tracks "Absolute" 11:13 "Life Of The Party" 24:58 From the Band The Metal Byrds band are born musicians. London born Suzanne Birdie, has a power-pop rock voice, that compliments Sly Rye's ripping rock riffs and lead guitar solos in every song! These catchy songs are throwback to a time where female front-women dominated the radio waves with rocking sounds. A time where Hair Bands and Classic Rock & Roll ruled the world. "Our sound comes from our individual influences over the decades.  Sly Rye's guitar playing style has been influenced anywhere from classic rock all the way from metal to alternative rock. Suzanne's singing style is heavily influenced by all the great women in rock history. From Joan Jett, Pat Benetar, Stevie Nicks and Heart. We are not the typical cookie-cutter sounding rock band, and if you listen closely, you will hear a sound like none-other." says the band of creating songs together. The Metal Byrds have received rotation on both international and national online and FM radio stations, and have a fan base that keeps on growing.  Currently having three songs from their latest album, that have risen up the radio charts to reach #1, they maintain at least one song on any given time on a top ten chart, every week since the beginning  of 2020, as well as being featured on several explosive and popular Spotify playlists that feature other great up and coming Indie Rock bands and musicians. Their fourth full length album, 4, available now online, for streaming and purchase on BandCamp, Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon Music, iHeartRadio, Deezer, Tidal, Napster, YouTube Music, and YouTube. Hey, y’all. I am Shay. This is thebuzzr podcast. On air indie, from my pad to yours over the airways. Today, Wild Love. The band members came together from Ireland, Turkey, and New York) to become a popular act after moving to Nashville, United States. Brandon Gorman and Michael Crecca (New York) join us. Sit back for some attitude driven hook heavy rock pop. Thank you for tuning in tonight. Enjoy the show! Enjoy the show! Facebook Link Spotify Youtube Instagram About the band Meet WILD LOVE, your new favourite band. In an era of pop music where many bands feel the need to drop their guitar to make pop music, Wild Love is doing anything but the sort, and intends to bring a little attitude back to pop music… The band hails from all over the world from Ireland to Turkey to New York. They quickly made a name for themselves after moving to Nashville to play larger venues like Marathon Music Works, festivals like Live on the Green, and receiving support from Nashville’s largest independent radio station Lightning 100 across all their singles. Since the move, through the singing and songwriting of frontman Brandon Gorman (Ireland), the production of guitarist Michael Crecca (New York) and groove of bassist Saygīn Geçener (Turkey), they’ve taken their lively, attitude driven rock sound and channeled it into hook heavy pop songs for a new era of Wild Love. Wild Love is stepping in front of the filter. With no bullshit anymore with their lyrics, sonics, or how they present themselves. They do everything with honesty on their upcoming single ‘I Hate That I Need You’, out September 1st, 2021. As honesty is the best policy, and as cliché as that sounds, it’s been their mentality that they have been operating under since they started making new music. Taking their music to the next level and seriously, they are just doing what comes natural, feels good, feels like them, and not overthinking it. “The title and lyrics kind of say it all…like, I think the way it’s written, it’s just my internal monologue that slipped out as a song…granted, I swear a lot more in my internal monologue, so I guess this is just a PG version of it, but still,” Brandon comments on the song ‘I Hate That I Need You’ genre(s) indie rock, pop rock, pop, indie pop, rock; with similarities to Wallows, and The Academic. The attitude of 90s/2000s pop punk bands like Green Day and Sum 41, the sonic and lyrical tone of bands like Blur, The Vaccines and Franz Ferdinand, with the sheen of modern pop bands like Valley and The Academic. She blends electronic and pop elements seamlessly with sultry, powerful vocals and deep lyrics to create a sound that is distinct in its complexity. Source. Click here Videos Facebook Twitter Youtube Tiktok Spotify Instagram Link Zane Coppard Bio Supplied by ZaneCoppard.com Zane Coppard is a multifaceted musician who brings aspects of his avant-garde experiments into a beautiful union with pop music. Pulling from vast musical influence, not only those famed from the present and past but also having been steeped in music at home as a child, Zane has garnered a unique ability to express many aspects of the human experience through what he creates. With a musician for a father and being surrounded by alternative arts at home, Zane was made to choose his instrumental path at a young age. From 8 years old he had been trained as a drummer, playing in bars and clubs at 14 and going on to tour as a session drummer for various groups including, most recently: Dralms, Belle Game, Evan Konrad and the heavy psyche band Crosss. During this time he continuously made music under his own monikers 1000 Petal Lotus and dounpour (both being heavily experimental ambient projects) as well as Smash Boom Pow, a band he shares with his brother Ulysses. In his sophomore album, Of Self (Bonfire Records), Zane draws attention back to what is most essential but overlooked in our outwardly focused society – the Self, just as the title indicates. Not only a reminder and reflection for himself, this work allows the listener to interpret as it suits them and their own human experience. Personal sentiment is layered throughout the album with Jasper Miller (Outback, Diamond Cafe) on additional synth and drum programming, Dougal Bain (Layten Kramer) on strings, Ulysses on guitar, as well as mixing and mastering and Zane’s partner Mikayla on background vocals. ~ Mikayla Koch Click here Videos Facebook Instagram Youtube Bandcamp Spotify Link Linkedin Previous Next

Alternative rock 4-piece band Plastic Poetry joins us from Glasgow, United Kingdom. The original broadcast aired on February 26th, 2021. Enjoy! About The Show Alternative Rock 4-piece band Plastic Poetry joins us from Glasgow, United Kingdom. The band’s latest, self-produced EP is a collection of songs that deal with loneliness in the modern-day society, early adulthood and the fears that arise from facing the future. The lyrical work of this band is outstanding! We feature two tracks from the album, Post Romantic Collections, Volume 1. The band formed in 2017 in Glasgow. The singer Victor Deschamps and lead guitarist Adrien Bordes originally met in Munich in high school and started writing songs together. After graduating and emigrating to Glasgow, the band was officially formed with Jamie Linskell and Andrew Scott-George joining on drums and bass respectively. Later that year (and before even playing a single show), they recorded their first self-titled EP at 7 West Studios with producer/sound engineer Chris Marshall (Gerry Cinnamon, Baby Strange, the Dunts…) before going on to build a solid reputation as a live act, playing venues such as King Tut’s on multiple occasions or playing the Songs From Northern Britain festival in Stockton-on-Tees in October 2019. Plastic Poetry’s influences range from British guitar bands (The Smiths, Belle & Sebastian, Franz Ferdinand etc.) to French folk music (Gainsbourg, Françoise Hardy…). In February 2020, Plastic Poetry started releasing a song every 2 weeks on their YouTube channel, the compilation of which is their latest release, Post-Romantic Collections, Vol.1. The Banquets’ music is a simple mix of rock, blues, and pop music, whilst maintaining the great tradition of British rock. The musical influences of the band stretch far and wide, and go right back to the early 20th century blues scene. Starting as an art project with a friend, ATTE has now elaborated into a sound that encompasses influences past and present combining energy, emotion, and power. Band Leader, Aaron Lavigueur, relocated to Banff, Alberta in late 2019 to become both re-inspired and refocused on building his dream of being a working musician. The move has paid off in spades with the release of the second track of a new album, The Long Con and with the addition of new bandmates, Chris Cushman (bass), Ryan Pionteck (Lead guitar), and Terry Blanchard (drums).  The Long Con features 6 exceptionally strong tracks that demonstrate a drastic step forward for Aaron and All The Time Everywhere. The release of their second full-length album “Unlimited Power“ is out September 3rd. Tracks - "Unlimited Power" 11:07:44 "Red Dawn" 19:30:48 From The Band Source - Press Release Shredding like they never shredded before, New Jersey rockers Shred Flintstone release their second full- length album Unlimited Power on Sept. 3rd. With a near-lethal injection of energy, the album rips from start to finish, showcasing a cohesive blend of gritty bass, guitar and drums, with vocal melodies that gel like they were born to be there. The trio features singer and guitarist Dan Barrecchia, bassist Ed Weisgerber, and drummer Joey Giambra cranking out track after track that keep you entertained and wishing you were watching them live. “The songs were recorded live,” front man Dan says. “This is the actualized sound of us, which is awesome because we haven’t captured that before. We were channeling some weird energy in the months leading up to recording the album. We created a mood board of macho man figures as a funny critique of hyper-masculinity and an ironic way to hype ourselves for the record and bring that energy into recording at the same time.” The pent-up energy shows through super-tight drumming and a shimmery crunchiness in production. Unlimited Power was recorded at Kaleidoscope in Union City, with Jeremy Delaney engineering and mixing the tracks. “I think it’s definitely our most concise record,” bassist Ed says. “We made sure everything gelled, taking our time and using only the best takes that we were most excited about.” Shred Flintstone kick off their release with a show at The Broadway in Brooklyn, NY Sept. 2nd, the day before the album drops. Mike was a ska/punk singer and songwriter for 5 years, a reggae keyboardist, & a jazz, funk, and acid-jazz drummer. Mandy grew up in the heart of the US, singing with an Orchestra Children’s Chorus, an Opera Children's Chorus, and in musicals. She's sung country, jazz standards, rock n’ roll, and loved “hard folk” like Indigo Girls, classic rock like Pink Floyd & experimental artists like Bjork & Tom Waits. Both developed a taste for the roots of American music. They've explored nearly every genre of music in covers and gigs. They give older songs complete reinterpretations and pour their hearts into passionate, evocative originals. August 16, 1977, we lost the “King of Rock ‘n’ Roll” Elvis Presley. RIP Elvis. We feature String Bone today. Southern Ontario songwriter Barry James Payne is the architect of String Bone. String Bone brings Payne’s true life narratives close to the ear with tender arrangements supporting his gruff sincerity, well worn by the rumble of the road. The career of Payne in music has spanned from performing to working the back end. He is the founder of the first Canadian Songwriter’s Association. The artist is a gift to Canada. An incredible talent. “Americana to the bone, Canadiana in the heart & soul.” Enjoy the show! Tracks "Waiting For My Dying Day" 31:38:40 "Two Stars Collide" 39:50:88 From the artist Source Americana to the bone, Canadiana in the heart & soul Heart and home are often elusive for those whose spirits are drawn to the open road. Sit back, buckle up and ride along with String Bone down winding highways, around sharp turns, on great escapes and daring rescues with searching songs in pursuit of home for an unbound heart. An unbreakable bone nut creates the essential contact point between a guitar's strings and the wooden body; String Bone draws the chaotic vibrations of the restless heart closer to its desire for gravity with songs of adventure bearing the weight left behind. Southern Ontario songwriter Barry James Payne is the architect of String Bone, and brings listeners to a collection of artfully designed songs and stories with "Love & Highways", his latest full-length recording. String Bone brings Payne's true life narratives close to the ear with tender arrangements supporting his gruff sincerity, well worn by the rumble of the road. Many of Payne's songs on 'Love & Highways' as well as his debut 'nadir' drive through darkness, betrayal and remorse towards love, light, escape and freedom on the road ahead with String Bone at the wheel. Payne shares struggles with relationships, and wrestles in the aftermath of lost wishes and broken dreams with an eye towards the next adventure. Unraveling ten melodic originals and two well-chosen covers from Neil Young and Radiohead, 'Love & Highways' features a full complement of players including pedal steel by Steve Wood, electric guitar by the album's producer Shannon Lyon, cello by Ben Bolt-Martin and violins by Payne's 'Rant Maggie Rant' band-mate Lindsay Schindler. In the passenger seat on "Love & Highways" is a stellar collection of guest vocalists including Sarah Jane Scouten, Mae Moore and longtime String Bone collaborator Ginger St. James, who also co-wrote 'Where Do You Go'.  Violinist Lindsay Schindler also contributes to trio harmonies on a soaring cover of Neil Young's "Birds" with Trent Severn collaborators Dayna Manning and Emm Gryner.  Roman Tome (New Country Rehab) contributes background vocals to "Somber Eyes", as well as percussion on five of the album's tracks. "Love & Highways" was recorded by Shannon Lyon at Lyon's Lake Studio in Point Clark and Bayfield, Ontario at sessions through 2015 and 2016, with additional sessions at Stratford’s Knox Presbyterian Church by John Hazen (Loreena McKennitt, Rita Chiarelli, Harry Belafonte). He has shared the stage with Juno (Canada's Grammy) nominees and winners and some among them include Bill Bourne, Danny Michel, Emm Gryner, Luke Doucet, Loreena McKennitt, Linda McRae, Jenny Whitely and he has collaborated with the likes of Ginger St. James, Shannon Lyon, Bob Egan (ex-Blue Rodeo, ex-Wilc https://youtu.be/XkGy9gck92Y Video conceptualized, directed and edited by Emma Hefkey: emmahefkey @ hotmail dot com Song: Waitin' For My Dyin' Day Artist: String Bone (with George Leger III) (Written by Barry James Payne and George Leger III) https://youtu.be/DAzjn99qHCk

For Venice Beach duo Movie Club’s fifth studio album, they put together a record that illustrates the tension, horror and small victories that the last year has made us all feel at times. From the action-packed opening riff of “Badlands” to the textured underbelly of “Ghost in the Machine” the EP spans the whole spectrum of moods - and because the songs omit lyrics, the whole world can relate.“We consider our job to be like painting with our instruments,” drummer Jessamyn Violet says. “We have to express everything through sounds and dynamics, letting listeners interpret their own meaning.”Jessamyn Violet (drums) and Vince Cuneo (guitar) formed Movie Club in 2018, and their sound has continued to evolve in unexpected ways. For the first time, the group included horns on all five tracks. David Ralicke (Dengue Fever, Ozomatli) came into Fonogenic Studios on day two of recording with his flute, baritone and tenor saxophone. He also brought a custom effects rig, making his layers otherworldly. Tim Lefebvre (David Bowie, Empire of the Sun) laid down bass lines on the tracks, for his third time guesting on their albums. Mark Rains (Paranoyds, Death Valley Girls) mixed the record at the legendary Station House Studio. Brain Lucey (Green Day, Black Keys) finished the process at Magic Garden Mastering.“Working with this team of talented people that understand our approach to music has been invaluable,” guitarist Vince Cuneo says. “We always try to add new voices to every record because collaboration is why this project exists and continues to grow.”https://youtu.be/bqD45vDYePE?list=OLAK5uy_kTjeXeSvbO7FsgV8pC-SE8ysKScZSAfcAhttps://youtu.be/bbU7pxN9gW8?list=OLAK5uy_kTjeXeSvbO7FsgV8pC-SE8ysKScZSAfcA Facebook Spotify Youtube Instagram Link Previous Next

Together, along with bassist Bill Black, they recorded Presley’s first single, “That’s All Right (Mama).” The audition made music history. Alt-rock Brisbane-based, Australian band Flint is on the show today. Frontman Tony Rosenberg and guitarist Peter Jenner are our guests. Both are songwriters for the band. We spin the band’s debut single “Colours” off their debut EP Follow The Embers out in July. Flint has an unique classic rock inspired song that will hook you as a fan. Great band! Enjoy the show! tracks: "Colours" 13:42 From The Band Tony Rosenberg (vocalist / lyricist) and Peter Jenner (songwriter / guitarist) have been playing together for almost three years now, and writing as Flint for almost two. John Doyle (bass) and Brian Foulds (drums) joined the band in late 2020 and the fruit of their efforts is (will be) the band’s debut EP, a five-song compilation of rock music with an edge. Flint began as a desire to create a sound that is not obvious, but which traverses several realms of rock. Odd tunings, unexpected chord progressions, peculiar percussion are blended carefully with lyrical musings that take listeners on a roller coaster ride of moods, feelings and ideas. At one moment, a listener may hear something remotely familiar; however, before they can digest the sound, it is transformed into something unforeseen, or was it?https://youtu.be/HzLb7Dl5bag Production - JK Media Director - Kezia Bennett  Main actors: Tony Paterson, Katia Rosenberg Supporting Actors: Isabella Beltrao Previous Next Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Bandcamp Link Link

Hey, y’all. I am Shay. This is the on air indie show. Welcome & enjoy. Episode 56. First, music history for June 22nd. In 1971 Joni Mitchell released her fourth studio album Blue. Music critics now regarded the album as one of the greatest albums of all time. In July 2017, NPR chose Blue as the greatest album of all time made by a woman. Today we welcome autism expert Dr. Lynette Louise. We also know her as “The Brain Broad”. She is an artist, an author, an academic, a brainiac and a healer. A fascinating guest whose work helps you to look at yourself and your world with renewed possibilities and understanding. We showcase her music on today’s show. Enjoy the show! tracks "Crazy to Sane" 11:06 "Unfinished" 221:57 "Biofeedback" 31:26 "Brainiac" 46:10 https://youtu.be/--EMsnVTNVM In this video Lynette is both the BRAINIAC and the MANIAC! She seeks to help herself by screaming at the part that loves to soak and sit in the pain and guilt. The MANIAC prefers to stay unhappy by staying focused on her shame and refusing to look at the parts of her life that make her feel in love with being alive. The BRAINIAC (or positive thinking part of herself) keeps trying to be heard. BRAINIAC is from the CD 'CRAZY to SANE' and is available on Amazon as well as CD baby. Enjoy this music video about being of two minds until you're not. https://youtu.be/qmYtJTqmSDc The Brain Broad, Lynette Louise explains, "In my life many romances came and went as people ran from my autistic children. My thanks to Annie Potts, Scott Lawrence, Shawn Reaves, Denise Crosby, Dar Shelton, Andy Allen, Ron Whitaker, James Vaughan, Jory Shelton, Tawd Dorenfeld for sharing your celebrity, your love and support! This song celebrates the fact that we're all beautiful and endlessly unfinished and if we look in our own backyard we just may find that we are already loved. Then we rewind out of our pain and rewrite the story we tell ourselves about the people in our world. "Unfinished" is a state of being." https://youtu.be/oY65LBqUNxc Years ago before I was The Brain Broad I was Lynette Louise looking for Johnny :) To accompany my first C.D. I made this claymation/live action music video. Even then I involved my children in my projects. I love family businesses. If you like the zaniness great. If not you may need your head checked https://youtu.be/wxX4q5pyobchttps://youtu.be/l0AbL_5UuQI Helping Children all over the world Lynette Louise aka The Brain Broad specializes in autism and other family or concurrent conditions. In Uganda it was Autism and Seizures. In America Autism complicated by PANS and suicidal tendencies. In Israel Autism and sensory integration, speech delay, and depression filtered through the family members. EVERY episode is full of fun and learning and amazing children.
