Have you ever had a perfect “Shark Tank” idea but not known how to do it? A product you want to create but you know nothing about funding or manufacturing? My guest didn’t either but she knew she needed to solve curvy busty women’s issue with athletic bras!    And she did just that! Bloom Bras is the most size inclusive line on the market ranging in sizes 28C -56L designed with NASA, shipping and packaging experts and Oprah's corset maker to bring the vision to life.   Now she is part of supporting creative people like you in finding manufacturers and getting your ideas and your products off the ground.   We talk about: After running a half marathon with an underwire bra under her sports bra, she had no skin left from all the chafing she know she needed to make a difference for herself and all the other women out there. She had written the business plan 15 years ago and now was the time! Her struggles finding a manufacture to work with a new start up company and worked around this using kickstarter and the massive community she created around supporting other female entrepreneurs. Sustainability in manufacturing, and how Elyse built a factory in Sri Lanka that uses solar power and wind power, and how they use local labor to actually manufacture the product so that they’re not having to travel. How in order to be successful you need to step into the discomfort of saying "I have a great idea and I need money and you need to believe in me". How important it is to create a community around supporting other women's dreams and their business.   You can check out Bloombras at on Facebook at Facebook.com/bloombras, Instagram at instagram.com/BloomBras or on their website at https://bloombras.com/   Give them some love on social media and check out their bras today!   Let’s change the world. So often we give thanks for our family, for your home, for abundance but when do you even stop and give thanks for yourself? When do you ever pause and actually look in the mirror and say thank you, when you look at the woman in front of you? When do you actually look at her and say: I love you. I appreciate you. You're amazing. If you're like most women, that doesn't happen. And so today's episode of The Purpose Girl Podcast is all about gratitude for yourself, love for yourself. And I cannot wait to break it down for you and share why you need this self gratitude.   In today’s episode I talk to you about: How most people express gratitude in a way that loses it's luster over time, and I share with you a more effective way to implement it in your life How gratitude will literally change your life and help you live your purpose and feel so alive by rewiring your thought patterns. Do you suffer from anxiety, nervousness, or critical inner voices? Have you experienced your share of trauma? I’ve had a lot of crappy stuff happen in my life. I’ve had traumas, both “little t and big T traumas,” and I’m sure you have, too. I also have a history of anxiety. However, what I also have are tools to help me work with my nervous system, to work with the traumas, to manage my anxiety, so that I can forge ahead and live my purpose and help women all over the world to live their own purpose. In today’s episode I’m going to share with you some of my journey with anxiety and the tools I use to manage it so that you can learn and use them as well. I talk about: Stress responses and trauma responses in our bodies The importance of setting aside space in our days for ourselves Moving the stress and anxiety physically out of our bodies Slowing down to reduce reactivity Listening to and learning from the inner voices Thanks for listening, love! I want to share what I did that day with all of you, my listeners, who might not have been on the call. As women we have so many pressures put upon us from society, from friends or family members or coworkers, from the media, about not being enough… Not thin enough or young enough or rich enough or curvy enough, and so on! At the same we’re often afraid of being too much! What will others think if we show up as the big, bold woman we truly desire to be? This fear of being thought of as too much holds so many women back, and there is a reason based in evolutionary biology for why we have this fear. In today’s episode I talk about: What it means to be “too much” Why many people feel threatened when a woman is “too much” How I support clients to take up more space and not worry about being “too much” How my new program, Goddess Unleashed, supports women in being “too much” To register for the free 1-hour event, Women’s Global Happiness Day, held at noon and 8 pm ET on Monday, October 18, go to: https://carinrockind.com/wghd2021/ To learn more about Goddess Unleashed, and to sign up, please go to: http://purposegirl.com/unleashed

As women we have leashed ourselves to the fear that if we shine too brightly we’ll make others feel bad, or that they’ll judge us for it, or that we’ll fail and look stupid, or that we won’t be loved. We’ve put this leash around our own necks, or we haven’t removed the leash that society has put on us, and so we tend to play small. My own leash used to be the belief that if others saw my imperfections, if I didn’t have the body or the husband or the job they wanted me to have, that I wouldn’t be loved. What is your own leash? I have programs that help women uncover their purpose, and that help them launch a purpose-based business, but what I’ve learned is that the first step to any of this is unleashing ourselves, setting ourselves free. And so I’m thrilled to announce a new program, Goddess Unleashed, to truly help women to break free of what leashes them and finally live free as the wise, wild goddess that is within them. In today’s episode I talk about the four steps to unleashing: Say Goodbye to the Good Girl Rise and Alchemize Claim the Wise, Wild Woman inside Live as Her And whether or not you join Goddess Unleashed, you do NOT want to miss this episode! Sister, I hate to break it to you but "bad" decisions are just part of life. You dated the person who wasn't good for you. You stayed in the job that you hated with the terrible boss. You got into the numbing out cycle of addiction. You keep looking for something outside yourself for validation and love. Well, Sister, I'm here today with an incredible guest to talk about accepting all these parts of ourselves - and then choosing to shift them into purpose.  Melissa Monte considers herself a guinea pig for bad decisions. And today she has a wildly successful business and podcast that helps us to turn our lives around when we tune in and find ourselves in a place we don't want for ourselves. Today, Melissa and I are talking about: How we can find ourselves feeling lost after experiencing trauma, and how when we don't address those things they come out in other ways, and how we can then rewire our brains FOR our own benefit.  Melissa's personal story of growth, and how she realized she was in a better place after a series of traumatic events but that she was not much happier. And then, of course, what she did about that! How Melissa turned some of the most traumatic things that have ever happened to her - like going to jail for someone else's crime - into her purpose. What analysis paralysis is and how we can get out of that cycle. How to go inside and investigate the feelings and emotions we have without it being so scary (hint, it's never not scary...) And so much more.  About Melissa Monte:  Melissa Monte is a mindset coach and host of the podcast Mind Love. After spending a decade being what she calls a "guinea pig for bad decisions," she became obsessed with learning what makes us humans tick. Now she teaches people the tools that turned her life around. Through raw stories and inspiring interviews, her podcast Mind Love highlights the incredible role of the mind in creating a life you love waking up for. One of the biggest things that hold back women from truly living their purpose is falling prey to the Good Girl Syndrome, saying yes when we mean no, agreeing to do things we don’t really want to do, suppressing our own wants and needs in order to do what others ask or expect of us. In today’s episode we’re blowing up the Good Girl Syndrome so we can step into being the wise, wild, unleashed woman that we were born to be. How to know if you have Good Girl Syndrome Get clear on how being a Good Girl is impacting you and your life What to do if you’re a people pleaser, you “should” all over yourself and you lack boundaries How to know when to say “yes” and when to say “no” How to take back your power, and shift from being a Good Girl to becoming a wise, wild, unleashed woman. Think about some of the things that really make you happy. Now, how often do you do them? Probably not as often as you really, truly could, right? And why is that? If you’re like me and so many others, your brain probably comes up with a whole host of reasons why you can’t do some of the things that would really make you happy! This is so common, AND, this is something you can change! In today’s episode I talk about: Why our brains throw up roadblocks to doing what makes us happy. How we can overcome those blocks. How I shifted from, “I can’t,” to, “How can I?” and how you can, too. The judger path vs. the learner path, and how this framework can help you view your options very differently. The importance of both/and, instead of either/or. This is SUCH a juicy episode! I want to welcome AnaLuisa as a new sponsor of The PurposeGirl Podcast! I grew up saturated by messages that women deserve less than men. Maybe you did, too. Like so many women, I settled for the crumbs instead of expecting more, because that’s what I thought I deserved. It’s taken me a long time and a lot of personal work to unleash myself from those old, unhealthy beliefs, and in this episode I want to help you do the same! I’m talking about: The subtle – and not so subtle – ways in which women have been told that they deserve less than men Where are you accepting the crumbs instead of demanding and expecting the whole damn cake? How I’ve come to understand the importance of treating myself How we can develop self-compassion as a tool to overcome our old stories of being unworthy An exercise I call a “desire deep-dive” The importance of saying – and believing that – I Am Worthy! On paper, some people seem to have a perfect life – a loving spouse, healthy happy kids, a successful career, a comfortable home – and yet they struggle with crippling anxiety or depression. I’m sure some of you can relate. I know I can. My guest today has experienced this as well and has made it her mission, her purpose, to help others navigate their emotions and sensitivities in order to truly be happy and thrive. Stick around and hear Melissa Bernstein of Melissa & Doug fame talk about: Why she never felt like she fit in with this world Her thoughts about suicide and how she coped with existential depression The impact it had on her to not fully accept who she truly was How inner darkness fueled her creativity How she made a shift from this dark place and turned her life around Her new passion project, the entirely free ecosystem that she and her husband Doug have created, Lifelines, to support people, show them they’re not alone, and help them find meaning in their lives You do NOT want to miss this episode! About Melissa Bernstein Melissa Bernstein, along with her husband Doug, is the Co-Founder of the toy company Melissa & Doug, which has created over 5,000 children’s products and sold billions of dollars of toys since its inception. Raised by educators, Melissa and Doug started the business in their garage in 1988, and they’ve been on a mission ever since to provide open-ended, inventive, non-technology playthings for young children. Throughout Melissa’s remarkable career, she kept secret her lifelong battle with severe depression and anxiety. She reveals her struggles in LifeLines, her first book, which she wrote to help others who are also suffering. As women we’re often judged for the decisions we make related to work and family: How can you work full time and have a child? That’s not fair to your baby! Being a full-time mom and not working outside the home is so old-fashioned! How can you place work above family and choose not have kids? And sadly, it’s often women who are the most cruel to other women for exactly this! Well, I’m calling BS on all of that! No one has the right to tell us how we can or can’t make our lives work, how we must balance work and family. We get choose what we want, we get to create new rules, and I talk about how you can do exactly that, including: Why we must unleash ourselves from those old rules Why it’s important for our kids to see us live our purpose Why I hired a coach before going on maternity leave How I set up my family for financial success even while I took time off to have my baby Why it’s important to have a plan to make things easier How to rethink your time and your schedule to have what you want How you can stand in your worth, and why it’s so important You can NOT afford to miss this episode! In the chaos and craziness of our everyday lives, with so many distractions jumping out at us and demanding our attention, the one thing we all truly need to feel more at peace is greater mindfulness. Sister, I’m making a ton of money by living in my purpose. Like, more money than I’ve ever made. In the month of June I made almost as much as I made in all of 2020 (details on how much that actually was in the episode!) Do you want to know a secret? …you can also make a ton of money by living in your purpose. It’s true! I’ll even take it a step further – you DESERVE to make a ton of money, and you deserve to be PAID for your purpose. For your contribution. I WANT you to make a ton of money. I want us ALL to make tons and tons of money because I have realized that when women run the world, everyone will be better off. Today’s episode is all about: The money I’m making, how much I’m making, and how I’m doing it. My new realization of what my true purpose is. Why money is critically important, and how you can do so by making a difference. All the ways you can be in my energy right now, to get out there and make BANK doing what you LOVE. The concrete steps you need to take (that I have also taken!) to make money with your purpose. Happy Pride Month, PurposeGirls! To all of you who are out, questioning, and/or closeted, I’m proud of you, and I love you! While many queer people wear their identity with pride, many of us also have had challenging or traumatic experiences connected with our queerness. Today’s guest on the PurposeGirl Podcast is no stranger to the complicated and the incredibly beautiful sides of being queer. Suzanne Falter is an author and podcaster who helps busy women find happiness through self-care. After losing her 22-year-old daughter, Teal, in 2012, Suzanne’s work has evolved to help busy women learn more about self-care– a lesson she learned in her grief. And she helps women all over the world actually find the time for self-care, even when it seems impossible. Talk about a Goddess on Purpose, right? In today’s episode, Suzanne and I talk about: Suzanne’s personal coming out story, and her mindset around the process of sharing her truth with her family. My bisexuality, and how a painful and abusive experience I had with my first love – a woman – has led me to doing this intimate healing work. Suzanne’s writing, examples of her favorite lesbian characters she’s dreamed up, and how she finds inspiration from her own life for her writing. The tragic and sudden death of Suzanne’s 22-year-old daughter, Teal, and the impact that Teal’s passing has had on Suzanne’s life – including about the letter Teal wrote her 6 months before she died. How my husband, Josh, helped me to feel safe enough to really explore and accept my sexuality. Suzanne’s mission and gift for the world. The message of pride: being who you ARE. The term alienation refers to the situation in which somebody is forced out of connection with others, particularly his or her loved ones. Alienation can take many forms and hurts someone mentally and emotionally, manifesting in relationship, health, work and other issues. If you’ve been alienated, what do you do? How do you reconnect with your loved ones? Where do you turn? One of my Goddess on Purpose alum, and Goddess on Fire MasterMind clients, Rebecca Knight, was alienated from her kids for 10 years. In this episode of The PurposeGirl Podcast, I’m joined by her, as she is now the cofounder of the P.A.I.R Community and a certified coach. She turned her pain of a tumultuous divorce from her narcissistic husband and later separation from her children into her Purpose of helping others through it. In this episode, Rebecca and I discuss: The concept of alienation, its consequences and its several categories Narcissism, and the important role it plays in alienation Some useful techniques to heal from alienation and how to FORGIVE How vital it is for alienatees to connect with a community that can provide support and tools to cope with their situation How COVID has created a global form of alienation You can follow Rebecca on Facebook (PAIR Community | Facebook), Twitter (https://twitter.com/PAIRCommunity1) and Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/p.a.i.r.community/). I have been honest with all of you that pretty much all my life I have suffered from anxiety. And the last few years, between all my miscarriages, running a business, now having a baby… I can frequently feel not only the mental and emotional strains of my anxiety and stress, but also the physical ones. I am seriously SO happy in life, but my body still feels the physical pain of stress. And I, like so many of us, need to learn how to care for our physical bodies and how to destress. In this episode of The PurposeGirl Podcast, I’m fortunate to be joined by soul sister Katy Kern, a wellness practitioner and coach who offers a holistic approach to stress relief. Katy is a recent graduate of my Goddess on Fire Business Mastermind – which is opening for enrollment soon! Be on the lookout! – and I have loved watching her step into her purpose and into her purpose-based business. Katy and I of course talking about stress and long-term healing, but she also walks me through some relief exercises that you can follow along to, too. By bringing multiple tools and resources together, Katy facilitates long-term relief from pain, management of stress, and ultimate well-being. Katy shares with us how attending to a yoga practice some years ago was the starting point of her very own healing journey, through which she has learnt several ways of approaching a balanced well-being of body and mind.  Katy and I talk about: How there are many levels of healing and pain relief, and all need to be addressed to really get to a state of relaxation. The science behind the physical response to stress, so you can understand why getting a massage feels good but then days later you’re ready for the next one… Actions you can take on a regular basis to help heal your own body, physically and emotionally. How to learn your own body’s cues so you can adjust as needed. A walk through of a self-massage and acupressure session that you can do on your own at home. About Katy Kern: Katy is a wellness practitioner and coach, offering a holistic approach to stress relief. By bringing multiple tools and resources together, Katy facilitates your long-term relief from pain, management of stress, and ultimate well-being. www.Facebook.com/groups/219883419458347 www.instagram.com/katy.kern https://www.katykern.com/   Connect with Carin Rockind:  Follow Carin on Instagram Join the PurposeGirl's Happiness Network Facebook Group Subscribe to the PurposeGirl Newsletter Check out The PurposeGirl Website Buy Carin's Book - Wonderful You!  Love this episode? One in eight couples – or 7.3 million women in America alone – go through infertility. I am 1 in 8. But there’s an aspect to my journey to motherhood that I’ve never shared, and in this episode, I share the full truth to help other women and couples get pregnant: We used an Egg Donor. I felt so much shame around this, as many women do with egg and embryo donation. But now I'm proud of it, so in this episode, I share my journey - the whole thing... the shame, the fear, the decisions, the pain of Mother's Day when trying to conceive, and more. I share to help women going through this - and to help you create ANY dream in your heart. Even if you’re not on a fertility journey, even if you never want kids, you want to hear this episode because it will touch your heart and inspire you like no other. I bawl, I laugh, I bear my soul. Recording this wasn't easy and I wasn't sure I could share it all. But my purpose in life is to inspire women, and when I reminded myself of that, I knew I needed to share ALL of it. This is the Mother’s Day podcast episode everyone needs - the love story of how a little boy and I came to be connected forever. So, grab some tissues and settle in to listen to the most intimate and vulnerable episode I’ve ever made for you. Because I love you.  In this emotional, challenging, beautiful episode, I share: The "secret" I've carried around using an Egg Donor and why The shame, fear and pain I had to overcome to make this decision All the different things we tried – doctors, health changes, birth specialists, fertility specialists, IVF and more - to get pregnant The beauty and wonder of egg and embryo donation How for many women, Mother’s Day isn’t just brunch and flowers, but a time of grief, trauma, pain and remembering loss My personal history with miscarriage, and how common it is The traditions that Josh and I developed to still make Mother’s Day special in the past and how we’re integrating Shay into our traditions now that he’s here Join me, Sister, for this emotional beautiful episode. And please share this episode with every woman you know who’s experienced infertility, miscarriage, challenging births, or any difficult emotions with Mother’s Day. “Girls can be really, really mean.” How many times have you thought, felt, or said that? So many women I work with – me included – have deeply seeded sisterhood wounds. So many women I connect with share that they were isolated, rejected, teased, and even bullied by the girls we thought were our friends when we were younger. It’s painful, embarrassing, and has long lasting impacts. It’s one of them many reasons why the work we do here at PurposeGirl is so important: to heal the wounds of sisterhood and learn how to lift other women up from a place of authenticity and joy. Because sister, there’s enough of everything – clients, money, time, joy, leadership, opportunity, connection, and more – for ALL of us. Your success is not at the deficit or loss of another woman, it is to HER benefit, too! Just like her success is yours.  So sisters, in this episode of The PurposeGirl Podcast, I’m fortunate to be joined by Molly Galbraith, cofounder of Girls Gone Strong (GGS), the world’s largest platform providing evidence-based, interdisciplinary health, fitness, nutrition, and pregnancy education for women and the health and fitness professionals who work with them. In this episode, Molly and I dig into: How we all have likely been on the receiving and giving side of a Sisterhood wound, and how that can be reversed in adulthood. The fact that much of our society creates a false sense of scarcity for leadership and “success”, which leads to the development of a false hierarchy amongst women, that ultimately creates a system of competition. Tools you can use to turn your jealousy and comparison into inspiration and opportunity. Some details about Molly’s brand new book! Today I took a pause to appreciate and feel grateful for my life. I still find myself in such wonder as I watch my 9-month-old son, Shay, view the world with such curiosity and excitement. I’ve been trying to instill some of the same in my own life. To slow everything down and find the beauty in all that is around me. The anxiety and stress may be overwhelming. But, sister, I got you. Today’s episode of the PurposeGirl Podcast is a guided meditation in which I’ll lead you to feel gratitude and joy, as well as help you to envision the purposeful life you desire to create for yourself. Each little action counts, sister. And my guest today is the perfect example of this in practice. If each of us believes our actions have impact, we WILL change the world. What’s my purpose? How do I figure it out? Where do I even start?   In this episode, I break it allll down for you: Why purpose has been so hard to “find”, where you need to start, the first step you need to take, questions and inquiries to journal on to get there and taking imperfect powerful action.   I seriously make it sooo simple.   Women come to me usually in one of two places: “I have absolutely NO CLUE what my purpose is, please help me find it” OR “I know my purpose, but I don’t know what to do next/with it.”   My PurposeGirl Process works either way, but in today’s episode, I’m answering what to do if you don’t know your purpose at all.   There are 5 steps to take and they will likely surprise you as it doesn’t begin with thinking about what “career” you want.   Rather I believe that the question “What do you want to BE when you grow up” has messed us up both in terms of career and purpose. Maybe you want to “be” more than 1 thing! Purpose comes down to BE, DO, IMPACT and I’m excited to share it all with you!   In this episode, I’m talking about: How you’ve been looking for purpose in the wrong places and how to change that What purpose anxiety is, the science behind how it is actually holding us BACK from uncovering purpose, and how we get out of it The true definition of purpose and how to apply it to your life Defining “your part” in repairing the world What you need to get curious about   The major components of Purpose Want to be a Goddess on Purpose? Ever feel anxious about Purpose? Like what is the first step?? I got you. When stressed about Purpose, women are typically in one of two places: You know your purpose and don’t know what to do next, or you have absolutely no idea what your purpose is. Today’s episode addresses both to give you the first step either way. My guests are two incredible soul sisters, two of my dear friends and clients, two Goddess on Purpose alum who each found me in one of those places: Deahna Byrd-Taylor and April Codd.  Deahna knew exactly what her purpose was – to to be a holistic health coach – but didn’t know what steps to take to make that purpose and passion into a career. She was stuck in fear. April didn’t even know what the word purpose meant when she first found me. She just knew that she felt unhappy, stuck, and going through the mundane motions of life. Two totally different blocks, and through the coaching and support each woman received in the Goddess on Purpose program, they have both taken not just steps but HUGE jumps towards purpose. Using their examples, in this episode I will teach you how to pursue your purpose, taking that first step. In this episode, April, Deahna and I talk about: What to do if you don’t know your purpose and you don’t know where to start How to get unstuck when fear paralyzes you What Sisterhood has to do with Purpose and what to do if “mean girls” have taken down your self-esteem in the past. How to discover what is possible for you  How impactful the Goddess on Purpose program was for these two very different women and what it will do for you The way to amplify success  The two words that will dictate your life (I bet you can guess what they are) Want more PurposeGirl?? Do you ever see “other people” doing cool things and you think “well that’s for other people... Not for me...”? Nothing is more disempowering. I just spent 7 glorious weeks LIVING in a multi million dollar home in Miami Beach, going to the beach or pool every day, taking boats out on the water, working and luxuriating in paradise!! Years ago I would have thought that was for other people. “The lucky ones”... “the beautiful people.” Since, I’ve learned the steps to make happen it happen for me (and for you) and surprise - it all comes down to Purpose. (Because we make our own luck and we ARE the beautiful people, Sister!) The answer for all you desire, all you want for yourself and your loved ones and the world is found in the magic of Purpose. And in today’s episode of The PurposeGirl Podcast I teach you how to get it all with 4 simple steps. No more wishing. No more feeling empty inside or like you have to accept crumbs. I won’t allow it. Your wildest dreams can be your reality. Mine just did... All using Purpose. When you’re on purpose, sister, anything and everything is possible.  In this episode, I talk about:  How AMAZING and juicy our 7 weeks in Miami were, and how my time in Miami is evidence you can bank as proof that your desires are possible for you. How we did it including figuring out finances and childcare, getting creative so you can too. The #1 research proven tool to get on your way that you cannot live well without (Olympic athletes and top pros use it too!!). How to overcome any obstacles to dreams with ease. What to do if you have no money to pursue the dream? (My story of being broke twice) How you can use the way your brain works to your advantage! Sister, I want you to have all the deliciousness in your life that you could possibly desire. And I really believe that the key to unlimited possibility in your life is, you guessed it, purpose. There is so much power in purpose. In you finding YOUR purpose. It isn’t just the thing that gets you up in the morning. No, sister. It’s a verb. MJ (Mary Jane) Grant shares with us how being a proud CODA (Child Of Deaf Adults) defined her life purpose – translating and interpreting the human heart.  For MJ, being a CODA wasn’t “pain” or “struggle,” but the world is not set up to support deaf people. People would call her parents dumb, and now caring for her mother with dementia, she’s risen up to share the very real experience and challenge with others in a documentary. She will open and break your heart and show you how to persevere with joy, grit, and purpose. You will LOVE her and this episode! It's a fact that no one is exempt from going through tough times. More often than we'd like we find ourselves dealing with really difficult situations than can be frustrating and unfair, making us feel powerless. But even though most of us may fall into these negative ways of feeling, we ALSO can find truly meaningful gifts hidden among the adversity.   In this episode, MJ and I laugh (she’s become a good friend), we cry, we dish on joy and rollerblading and all things to rise up from trauma. She’s a lifelong learner who grew up with a passion for connection and skillful, nuanced communication, excelling in the daily work of connecting others while opening hearts along the way. In this episode, MJ and I discuss the following: The importance of accepting yourself -and HOW to accept yourself – plus how not doing so can lead to identity struggle, depression or worse. How to overcome external judgements. How to turn hard situations into fertilizer for personal growth. An upcoming new paradigm that embraces difference and accepts everybody as special in a unique way. Regardless of how hopeless a context may seem, remember – you always get to choose! Watch “So Happy to Meet You”, the short documentary MJ did for the International Dementia Conference that was founded by HammondCare in Australia (https://youtu.be/3py3DHOfW2w). You can check out the journey she has documented at her Instagram and Twitter account (@mjgrant) and also at her YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4eyyELBabLfNrHMsEeBNMg). Thank you so much for listening, love, and if you aren’t following me already, you can find me on Instagram and Facebook. May you live purposefully, may you love yourself, and may you love life!! Bye for now! XO, Carin About Mary Jane Grant Mary Jane Grant AKA MJ came into the world with a magical curiosity for life. Born to two Deaf parents in Sanford, Maine, MJ is a lifelong learner who excels in the daily work of connecting others while opening hearts along the way. She is a proud CODA (Child Of Deaf Adults) and a native user of American Sign Language (ASL), who grew up with a passion for connection and skillful, nuanced communication. MJ has learned, loved and thrived through every chance encounter with the individuals she has met along the way. Her joyful, intuitive nature reflects a warmhearted tenderness and instinctual resilience that emerged early in life and led to a career as a professional sign language interpreter. She has worked with Deaf communities across the U.S. while managing her company, Mary Jane Grant Sign Language Interpreting Services, in between moments of happy chaos at home. But her real gift in the most simple terms? She translates and interprets the human heart. In recent years, MJ walked alongside her father, who passed in 2019, after his battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy while being the primary caregiver for her mother who is living with dementia. Having navigated the healthcare system, MJ discovered the tremendous barriers to care for Deaf seniors. It is MJ’s mission to open the hearts of others and ensure her mother, Carmen, as well as every other Deaf senior, has access to the highest quality care to live their best life possible.

Have you ever found yourself chasing goals with a lot of effort, feeling like a hamster in a wheel, only to feel disappointed and empty after achieving them? You do do do and still aren’t happy?! Sad but true, most of us were taught to go after generic goals like a prestigious degree, a big salary or a fancy house, rather than to look deep into ourselves to figure out who we are and what we want for our lives.  In this episode of The PurposeGirl Podcast, Jessica Zweig, award-winning entrepreneur and one of the nation’s most preeminent branding experts teaches us how to BE before we DO. She and I have so much fun diving into how to create your personal brand and have ultimate success. Jessica was a “DO’er” with a seemingly successful business, but under the facade, she was broke, in debt, and suffering. She shares her deep transformation journey that led her to a very final conclusion: first, you just have to be you. In this episode, Jessica and I discuss the following: The #1 first step to true purpose (and it’s not what you think). How to shift from VICTIM in your life to the powerful CREATOR who creates whatever you desire. The key mindset tweak that will change how you think about failure. Why personal brand matters and how to create it. The key to personal branding (gulp – vulnerability) and how to do it. Small baby steps you can take to move forward. A detailed step by step guide to build an authentic platform for marketing your brand, business and purpose. Everyone can relate to grief right now – with COVID and lost jobs and political turmoil and and and… there is so much to grieve it can be overwhelming. But if you are able to transmute your grief into power, it can literally be life changing. Grief is one of the most powerful emotions in the spectrum, so being able to actively harness it and make that shit into fertilizer can truly change everything for you. There is power in that deep emotion. There is power in your pain, sister. And we are here as your sisters to witness you wielding it. In this episode of The PurposeGirl Podcast, I’m fortunate to be joined by Sara Chizek, a Grief and Sensuality Coach who empowers women to harness the energy of grief, anger, stuckness and turn this energy into joy, pleasure and power to unlock their desires. Sara shares with us how losing her father at the age of 4 lead her to do some serious questioning of her beliefs in her adulthood. She has harnessed her grief and used it to power for goodness in her life. In this episode, Sara and I discuss the following: How so much of what you may be seeking to numb – consciously or subconsciously – is much more nurture than nature. The common source of our need for validation. How emotions are stored physically in the body, and how this has an impact on our overall health. How grief is actually useful data for us. How most people are afraid of facing grief since they believe that if they “go there” they won't be able to make it back. Sara leads us through a practice on grief, one that is powerful and transformative that I know you will find useful. You can learn more about Sara's work on her official web page (https://sarachizek.com/). You can also follow her on Instagram (@thesarachizek) and facebook (@sara.chizek). Last but not least, don't forget to check out “Grieve and Glow”, her 10-week group program to make grief your superpower and reclaim your sensual radiance, beginning in February 2021. Here’s a super juicy episode that empowers you to start and/or grow your purpose business. Today, I’m pulling back the lace curtain and sharing with you all the details of MY purpose business – money, clients, impact, all of it. I want to help you connect with what is possible for you, your business, and your purpose in the year 2021. If you’re scared to start uncovering and understanding your purpose because you think you won’t make any money, that you’ll fail, that the world will end (or any other story we all tell ourselves!) I got ya. This episode is for you. I used to feel the same way, and if only I had known what was to come once I finally started saying – no, SCREAMING! – YES to my purpose, YES to my desires, and YES to my dreams. Because, sister, if I can do it, so can you. Read that again. If I can do it, so can you. In this episode I will share with you: The real revenue numbers for PurposeGirl LLC from 2020 – yes, specific numbers! – and how that compares to how much I made in corporate America. What I’m spending that money on right now. How many downloads of the PurposeGirl Podcast we got in 2020, and where women are tuning in all over the world! How MASSIVE my ripple effect is, and how huge yours can be, too The 3 concrete, science backed steps that you can take to have the same – if not better – success in all the ways you want that I had. Being anti-racist is part of all of our purposes. It’s the only way to elevate the world. But white people aren’t experts on race, so how do I (or you, if white), do it? After the brutal murders of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor (and others) this summer, I wanted to know what I could do. Many of my white clients and listeners asked the same - where do we start? This episode gives you answers. Gives you the first -- and second and third -- steps to take. It’s our responsibility as white people to educate ourselves towards being as anti-racist as we possibly can and to use our voices for equality. Admittedly, the conversation feels hard and awkward (for me at least), but we need to have it - to see our blind spots, learn and grow. That’s what this episode is about. Feel into - how is race part of YOUR purpose? Your happiness? After the tragic murders of innocent black people during the summer of 2020, I woke up to my whiteness. As silly as this may sound, I identified so strongly with being Jewish that I didn’t actively realize that I was white. But now, I’m actively stepping into the shoes of my whiteness, and I see how if I want all women to live their dreams, I must do more for racial justice. So, I’m using my privilege – and my platform – to elevate the voices who are more expert than me. And I’m learning. Let’s learn together. Today’s PurposeGirl Podcast guests use their platform – The Kinswomen Podcast – to help educate people all over the world about racial justice conversations, communication, and marketing. Yseult Polfliet and Hannah Summerhill are great friends who help people have the difficult interracial conversations that need to be had. In this episode, they helped me share a story of racism I’ve never shared (it’s POWERFUL) and allowed me to ask them questions we all need to consider to have racial justice and to be an anti-racist. In this episode you will: Learn the first step to take if you want to help with racial justice. Learn the importance of making the shift between “doing well” and “meaning well.” Be led through questions you can ask yourself to uncover where your inner work needs to begin to become more anti-racist. Be challenged to push your own limits of what you imagine and understand diversity to be. Understand how to start the work in your own community, and with your own individual actions. Hear my personal story about racism. Understand the fact that it is almost always the oppressed communities that are doing the work to liberate themselves, and that it’s past time that communities of power use their position and privilege to work towards liberation. Recognize that we all have blind spots, and that finding them is messy, but necessary. Let’s raise our voices together! About The Kinswomen Yseult Polfliet and Hannah Summerhill are founders of the Kinswomen, a podcast and platform that aims to bridge the gaps between women of color and white women, and have conversations on race and racism from a place of love and compassion. Kinswomen has been named best of 2020 by Elle, Cosmo, and Marie Claire. In addition to their podcast, they facilitate anti-racism courses, and work with companies on their anti-racism journeys. That inner voice is calling to you – will you answer? Inside each of us is the call of the Goddess, or as I like to say, a purpose; something we were all meant to do and meant to be. This call is powerful beyond measure, and if you listen to it and really pay attention to what is being told to you, it will not only guide your life, but provide the opportunity, too. This has manifested for me in creating PurposeGirls – my calling is to inspire, and to light women up. Today’s incredible, passionate, brilliant guest has listened to her calling – as she says – from the moment she could think. Nicole Ansari is an award-winning actor, director, writer and producer who has been living her purpose since before she even knew it was an active decision to do so. When you live in alignment, the opportunities come – and Nicole is the living example of that happening. In this episode, Nicole and I talk about: Nicole’s incredible journey of discovering her calling, answering the damn phone, and living it every day. How to learn to understand the signals you are getting – both internal and external - so you can find and live in your own calling and purpose. Positive evidence of someone who has found success – even in a potentially challenging industry! – living in her purpose, so you know you can also live in yours. Juicy details about Nicole’s newest project:   About Nicole Ansari: Nicole Ansari’s professional life began in her teens as an actor in Tatort, an iconic German Cop TV series. Ansari studied with the late legendary Uta Hagen, of HB Studios, with Susan Batson at the Actors Studio in NYC and at the Stage School of Dance and Drama in Hamburg. After two feature films for German TV, her first professional engagement was with the Repertory company Neumarkt Theater in Zurich. Following this, she joined the famed Théâtre du Soleil under the direction of Ariane Mnouchkine, in Paris and on a European tour. Her next steps led to being a guest star at the Public Theatre in Vienna in leading roles, multiple arthouse movies and TV shows, including HBO’s Deadwood. She continued on to London’s West End and Broadway, performing with her husband Brian Cox, and eventually creating a home base in New York. Ansari co-produced two feature Films; “Blumenthal”, a comedy in the New York Theatre world, starring her husband Brian Cox and the thriller “As Good As Dead” with Andy McDowell. Adding to her CV as Co-producer + director, is the short documentary “Padim at PS3” about the Arts program in a NYC public school and the web series “Messy”. Messy has garnered numerous awards on the festival circuit including Best Director and Best Dramedy at the British Web Awards; Best Web Series at the NY International Film Awards, and best Web Series at the Chicago Independent Film Awards. As a director, Nicole also worked with the Rubin Museum of Art and NY Women in Film. Ansari’s lifelong interest in the healing arts brought her to study and train with some of the great teachers of our time. She is a certified Yoga Therapist, Kundalini Yoga, Pre and Postnatal Yoga Instructor, a Life Coach, Theta healing practitioner and a feminine movement teacher. She also has an online Hemp business. Storytelling, for her, is a healing art and she has been merging her interests in helping others to live a passionate life fueled by their wild, authentic self. Nicole has created ACTORS RISING, a program for actors and speakers merging the spiritual path with the Arts. 2020 has been an incredible year of transformation for so many of us. It forced us to feel pain and loss and grief and loneliness and fear. It also has challenged us to adapt and be resilient – to find hope and joy in small places and to make active connection with people all over the globe. 2020 will be a year to remember. One that historians and scientists and activists will write about and study for generations. One our children will tell their children about. So, for all the bad 2020 has provided, there was – I would argue – just as much good if you were committed to finding it. And in today’s very special episode, I guide you through a meditation on the year 2020. There are also many journal prompts that you can utilize as you listen, and also to reuse all the time to help you find the joy in your day to day life.   I hope that this meditation proves helpful for you, and that it gives you some peace. Listeners often ask me how to empower their teens. This episode will get you on track. Because how do we make massive change in the world? We start with our young people. By empowering girls and teens with the ability to make change now, they can make a massive difference. In this incredible episode of the PurposeGirl podcast we talk all things girl power – why empowering young people as leaders matters, why girls and women are the leaders the world needs now, and how girls and women can rise up to make a difference right now. This generation is far more involved in issues related to politics, gender equality and racial justice than we were years so they allow us to believe that a better and brighter future is possible. My incredible and inspirational guest is Melissa Kilby, the Executive Director of Girl Up (https://girlup.org/), the global leadership development organization transforming a generation of girls to be a force for gender equality and social change. In this episode, we talk about:   The different barriers women and girls are facing all over the world – and we’re not just talking about being mansplained. How this work is intersectional – and why it is so important to us. The core issues within “gender and civic equality” that Girl Up aims to take on, and how they do so. How to allow other women and girls to be our inspiration The definition of Leadership How to get your teens active and engaged A piece of advice that Melissa shares that, if you listen to it each day, you will uncover and live in your purpose – guaranteed! Ever feel like you have no time? No time to pursue a dream, no time to meditate, no time to even clean your house or shower? Me too. I am a busy mama and entrepreneur. Now don’t get me wrong, it’s a good busy. It’s a busy I wouldn’t trade for anything in the world. But damn, finding the time to do anything – like this podcast episode, for example – is really hard. But I did it – I brag.   Truth be told, I’ve had a lot of anxiety recently around getting it all done without compromising on anything. It feels like when I’m spending time with my son, Shay I should be writing newsletter copy and when I’m making a social media post I should be snuggling with Josh and when I’m finally making time for myself I should be literally anywhere else.   Of course, these shoulds don’t help, so I’m throwing them out. Ever since becoming a mom, I’ve had to learn how to spend my time – and my energy. I’m so not perfect at it, but in this episode, I share the tools I’m learning to make my precious time work for me.   Your time is precious, too. In this mini - episode, I talk all about: The 4 Keys to Managing Time Well. How to prioritize and make peace with what doesn’t get done. How to take imperfect action Time Suckers and how to avoid them. How you can find grace for yourself and a big, virtual hug from me, to me, and to you.   Today, instead of beating myself up for all the things I haven’t done, I’m clear on priorities and taking imperfect action, and it feels so good. I’m also finding some extra space and love for myself because if I push myself too far, there will be no business, baby, hubby, friends, amazing life, or ME to love.   Enjoy this short-time-supporting episode!   XO, Carin   If you aren’t already, join the Free PurposeGirls Facebook Group! Do you self-depricate or self-celebrate? Have a hard time taking compliments? Do you beat yourself up or have an inner mean girl? Then listen up. Oh my Goddess this episode is so JUICY! I am so fired up, so excited, to bring you this episode because it’s all about one of my very favorite things – bragging! Yes, you read that right – I LOVE to celebrate myself, I love hearing other women celebrate themselves, so, I share why you should be bragging, too. Women are taught from an incredibly young age – far before we have the processing skills to even realize it’s happening – that we need to swallow our opinions, hide our success, hate ourselves, and constantly compare what we have and do to everyone around us. Talk about a recipe for disaster and depression! This is where bragging or self-celebrating comes in – it is the practice of shamelessly sharing the remarkable successes you are experiencing, no matter how big or small they are! In this episode, I talk all about: All the reasons why you need to practice self-celebration and own your greatness – hint: there’s physiology and psychology science to it. The self-fulfilling prophecy you get stuck in, and how you can get out of the cycle. What is a Circle of Love, how to get one, and why you need one. What I’m celebrating about myself right now! The Hedonic Treadmill and how it is holding us back from enjoying our lives! Doors for my last EVER round of my signature program – EMPOWERED – are officially OPEN. We are all constantly searching for more meaning in our lives, we want to leave a legacy. The legacy we create is how you live every day, moment by moment, in the many communities and Sisterhoods your heart calls home. Sharing who you are with people you love is the best way to leave a lasting, beautiful legacy that people will talk about for generations. Our guest today is so special because she is the embodiment of this concept. An immigrant from Jamaica who came to the States to grow her opportunity and make her many communities back home proud, she has a legacy anyone would be incredibly proud of. In this episode of The PurposeGirl Podcast, I’m fortunate to be joined by Janet Autherine, the Founder of The Island Mindful Path to Transformation, and CEO of Autherine Publishing. She is the author of 4 books that are focused on empowering women and children, and her insights have been featured in national media, such as Forbes, Medium, and many highly-rated podcasts. Janet shares with us how combining her hopeful and optimistic Jamaican roots with all she’s learnt along her mindfulness journey was key to find her very own way of shaping her legacy. In this episode, Janet and I discuss the following: The incredible power of community and Sisterhood. How important and powerful it is to say the names of the women in our lineage when we speak of them. That there is so much power in valuing the things we are good at – and how that helps others around us. How we can use mindfulness to connect with who you really are. How to discover our Legacy and why our story and voice always matter.
