Rich Diviney is the author of "The Attributes- 25 Hidden Drivers of Optimal Performance." As a US Navy SEAL, he observed that success was determined by a combination of skills plus attributes. Skills could be taught. Attributes are more hard-wired, but can be developed. In business hiring, there is much focus on skills assessment, but recognizing attributes can be a better predictor of success. Coach Bill and Rich go deep on some of the 25 attributes, but you will want to learn all of them after you hear this episode! In this episode of All In with Coach Bill Hart, we meet the LEGENDARY Dave Savage of MortgageCoach. As a 20-something loan officer, Dave developed a mantra of "my advice makes a difference." And with an Excel spreadsheet, offered a more sophisticated mortgage conversation than prospective clients had ever heard. With partner Greg Wexler, the two enhanced this spreadsheet into a world class tool, and distributed it to help other loan officers achieve this same goal. The MortgageCoach YouTube channel videos have over 1.4 million views. With quickly changing times, mortgage professionals are in a position to help families with financial literacy. Top professionals have an exceptional way in which they show up for a consumer, and they do it consistently. And the MortgageCoach tools and philosophy help loan officers, from new LO's to the C-Suite, to do just that. There are some fantastic take aways here, so be sure and take notes! Mike Hayes was Navy SEAL for 20 years, with tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He then became a White House fellow in Bush and Obama administrations as Director of Defense Policy and Strategies, followed by a career in the private sector. In his book "Never Enough: A Navy SEAL Commander on Living a Life of Excellence, Agility, and Meaning" he describes the lessons learned during his career about the importance of meaning and impact. Profits from the book go to a 501c3 charity that pays off the mortgages of Gold Star families. Some takeaways from today's conversation: Doing the hard thing in corporate America. Owning our opinions and being honest with each other. Dynamic subordination- maintaining the agility to be where we need to be under the circumstances. Three phases of a career: 1-getting good at something. 2-having to show the world how good you are. 3-knowing you no longer need to show how good you are. Leaders gain authority by giving it away. Learning HOW to think, not WHAT to think. 1-Data, 2-logic, and then 3- forming an opinion.   Bill Hart is a coach in the mortgage industry, and  the author of the book "White Collar Warrior: Lessons for Sales Professionals from America's Military Elite". Sean Herrero's mantra is "I wonder..." He feels very comfortable trying new things to see what works, and letting go of what doesn't. He operates his business as a digital nomad, and loves the van life movement, and the outdoors, especially spear fishing, which offers the ultimate in "being present". Sean came into mortgage origination to achieve self-determination, after a career in marketing departments which tended to derail projects and disrupt his life. His approach to business is one of complete authenticity and building relationships. He would rather problem solve and provide value than sell. Calling on 30 prospects every Monday morning is not an option. Running a YouTube channel offering solutions to first-time home buyers is much more his style. As Coach Bill observed: "Stimulate activity by opening up conversations about people's options." In this episode, we talk with Chad Dietz of the Bunker Golf Center. From a young age, Chad has been driven to pursue his passions. As a rising baseball player in school, he changed his trajectory and turned his attention toward golf. Working at a golf resort allowed him access to play, as well as exposure to successful people.  In Coach Bill Hart's book, "White Collar Warrior: Lessons for Sales Professionals from America's Military Elite," we are introduced to another kind of warrior. Like the military warrior, he rises before dawn, finds creative ways to overcome adversity, and is committed to protecting his people. Today's guest is one such warrior who, in fact, was anonymously featured in the book. Josh Mettle is that warrior. Josh Mettle is a mortgage professional with Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation, and has developed a unique niche helping doctors overcome the home buying hurdles specific to their industry. He learned from a young age to see opportunities, as you will hear! He is author of the book, "Why Physician Home Loans Fail: How to Avoid the Landmines for a Flawless Home Purchase." True joy is sometimes found in surprising places. For Ken Perry, it was in Dorie's Promise orphanage in Guatemala. Those lucky enough to have parents look forward to lives as scavengers at the local dump. Those in the state orphanages are at the mercy of a corrupt system. Nevertheless, Ken takes frequent trips to build homes and schools, and brings family members, friends, and business associates. He works with Dorie's Promise orphanage and the nonprofit Forever Changed International to change the future of young lives. Sometimes life is directed by our talents and plans, and other times life gives us totally unplanned challenges. In this episode, we’ll hear examples of both, and how our guest used her all-in mindset to drive her company to success. Broker Nicole Solari has been obsessed with real estate ever since she can remember, and in 2013, she left a successful career in tech to pursue her passion full-time. Technical savvy, insatiable drive, and devotion to exceptional client service quickly put her among the top-producing agents in Solano and Napa Counties. But when it became clear that her unique brand of client-centered service required a different business model than the production-driven, big brand agencies, she launched The Solari Group. Clients say that Nicole is a dedicated, attentive, highly-skilled negotiator that has their best interests at heart and the knowledge and connections to make their housing dreams come true. As a member of the Napa Chamber of Commerce, Nicole is always learning more about her community. Her time outside of work is devoted to her family-including her rescue dog Aubie. She also enjoys running and good food. https://www.levelupbrokerage.com/ Bill is a coach at Building Champions in Lake Oswego Oregon.
