Find your zen. We are in the lead-up to Christmas. We're out of lockdown and it feels a bit like turning 18 years old or 21 in the US and being able to get out and party legally. We feel like we can make plans again without them being pulled out from under us at the last minute, and on the work front, there is always a race to get things done before the Christmas deadline. Which turns on the busy buttons and pushes us toward burnout. It’s for all of these reasons that I want to explore in this week's podcast what investing in your zen could look like, to inspire you to get after it in a way that might help reset your wellbeing foundations for 2022.Subscribe & Review The Hacking Happy PodcastThanks for listening to this week's episode! Intentional Adaptability as a science. This past week I have realised a major milestone in my business and equally in my life. I’ve achieved something that I never dreamt of, and it’s come off the back of experimentation and intentionally adapting. Off the back of being true to who I am and practicing what I preach and teach.Allow me the indulgence of sharing in the hope that it might inspire you to experiment your way to flourishing. You are capable of so much more than you realise, and the courage to experiment is foundational to unlocking your potential and amplifying your wellbeing.Subscribe & Review The Hacking Happy PodcastThanks for listening to this week's episode! Off the back of the literature review I recently undertook for my psychology studies on how COVID-19 restrictions have accelerated mental health and wellbeing issues in women, I decided to create an interview series with Mums in lockdown. I wanted to share firsthand their challenges, how they are navigating life, and any hacks they have discovered that enables them to inject more of what matters into each day.Today we kick off with Patty Di Parisa a Clinical Psychologist who has over 20 year’s experience in the treatment of anxiety, panic, stress, trauma, grief, and depression, in older adolescents (>16 years) and adults. Patty is also the mother of three and has been living, homeschooling, and working through the longest pandemic in the world in Melbourne. In this episode of the Hacking Happy podcast, we explore what pandemic flux is, how to process feelings of anger using radical acceptance, why moving your body is critical to your mental health and why we don't teach processing feeling as a subject at schools.Strap yourselves in this is a must-listen.Subscribe & Review The Hacking Happy PodcastThanks for listening to this week's episode! Women struggle to keep up. Over the past 18 months, I have watched a shift, a visible shift in mental health, in wellbeing, and a particular shift in women. I’ve felt the shift in myself.I couldn't ignore what I was seeing. It's the reason I have gone back to university to study psychology and why I chose to do my first assignment on how social isolation, the increased workload in the home, and escalating uncertainty driven by COVID-19 restrictions are accelerating the level of mental health and wellbeing issues in Australian women. In this episode of the Hacking Happy podcast, I want to share with you that piece of work. The insights are profound and it paints a disturbing picture of the psychological distress the number one caregivers in our society, both up and down the generational chain are under.Subscribe & Review The Hacking Happy PodcastThanks for listening to this week's episode! Thinkology is your advantage. If I asked you "What would be most helpful to you right now in making the change you seek?" what would your response be?One of the number one responses to this question, when it's posed at the end of the Hacking Happiness Assessment, is "the time to think, the time to reflect."Creating the space to be alone with one's thoughts in a way that is constructive rather than destructive in the current environment provides the basis for us to step forward with intention and greater clarity. That's why in this week's podcast I'm sharing a couple of really simple practices like Thinkology to help you kick start creating the space to think and reflect on the things that matter to you.Subscribe & Review The Hacking Happy PodcastThanks for listening to this week's episode! What scares you shapes you. What would be possible if you could unlock your most courageous self? How would that make you feel? This is the exact question I asked myself at the beginning of my hacking happiness journey and it provided the catalyst for cultivating a courage practice that transformed my life, and now enables me to support others in doing the same.In this week's podcast, I share the story behind why I delivered a keynote in my bathing suit in the hope that it might inspire you to look at fear through a different lens and demonstrate the magic that resides on the other side of the things we fear most. The reality is that you are capable of so much more than you realise. If you'd like to dial up your self-belief, unlock your potential, and amplify your mental wealth, join me on the upcoming Courage Challenge kicking off September 27, 2021 register here.Subscribe & Review The Hacking Happy PodcastThanks for listening to this week's episode! Unlock possibility through rejection: How often do you let fear of rejection of the answer being NO, stop you from asking for what you want? What if rejection actually held the key to possibility?Have you ever considered that you can’t get a YESs unless you get NOs? Building the skills to thrive. What are you seeing or not seeing that has you raging inside at the moment? For me, it's that the government has media conferences every day about COVID and restrictions yet there seems to be no nationwide pro-active education on how to help people navigate the uncertainty and build skills that will enable them to create mental wealth. We are around 18 months into this pandemic, with no end in sight and there is a clear opportunity to prioritise skill-building in wellbeing at scale and do it now!So, my vision for how I direct my energy has shifted. My goal is not to create a business, it’s to create a systemic shift in how we approach and enable sustainable mental wellbeing in uncertainty. In this week's podcast, I want to explore with you this concept of mental wealth and invite you to share your thoughts and ideas on how we might put a firecracker up the powers that be to get some serious traction around this.If this sounds like a plan, take a listen and feel free to reach out with any ideas you may have on supporting the elevation of mental wealth via hello@hackinghappy.coSubscribe & Review The Hacking Happy PodcastThanks for listening to this week's episode! Gratitude for good and bad: We cannot control what life throws at us, but we can control how we choose to show up.My Mum is my Hacking Happiness mentor and I could not be more proud of where I’ve come from. She was a farmer who raised three children on her own and then retrained as a yoga teacher at age 60. She went on to start her own yoga business teaching the elderly and youths with disabilities.2020 was a tough year for many of us, but for mum, it was exceptionally challenging with her best friend of 50 years found murdered and another close friend suiciding amidst 6 months of lockdowns. In this conversation (that we recorded during lockdown in September 2020) we talk about processing grief, intentionally adapting and finding joy no matter what life throws at you. We also share one of my favourite little gratitude hacks.I hope you enjoy! For more simple ways to inject more of what makes you feel good into each day, why not take a look at our new online program Start Simple, Be Happy. and why it doesn't matter: Ever asked yourself what is the cost of never being ready, the cost of never realising the life that I know could make me happier?I asked myself this question six years ago and in my view, it was too much. I came to the realisation that ready and all that goes with it was holding me back.Is it holding you back?If you’ve longed to make a change in your life (for I’m guessing around 2 or 3 years) and you haven’t taken action because you’re ‘not ready’, then this podcast is for you.Across this two-part series we will explore:what ready really means and why it could be holding you backwhy it's the action that breeds the clarity, not waiting for the perfect planhow I trained myself to surrender to uncertainty, embrace the fact that we are never fully ready, and stop using it as an excuse not to take actionEarly Bird RegistrationsAs I mention in the podcast, next week we will officially open the doors to register for my FREE LIVE webinarDitch Distraction and Ignite Your Focus Around More of What Matters. If you want to truly test doing something you don’t feel ready to do, I want to provide you with the opportunity to act now.So, I’m going to give you an early bird link here to register now for my LIVE WEBINAR.Registrations close on 10th March and places are limited. Turning dreams into reality: In 2014 I turned my life upside down in pursuit of happiness and started my own business. At the time I had no idea what I was doing or where it was going to take me. All I knew to be true was that I wanted to positively impact the lives of others, be more humanly connected and live more in each moment. At the time I also had a dream that one day my work and its impact would be validated.I would write an article for the esteemed Harvard Business Review on how I was helping make people’s lives happier in my business.Again, I had no idea what it looked like, how it would happen, but I wrote that dream down and popped it away in a drawer. In this podcast, I share with you how this small act of writing down a crazy dream with no clear plan on how to make it happen made it happen. This is not one of those bullshit overnight success stories of how I made millions and how I can teach you to do the same.Instead, it's a story of persistence and experimentation that evolved into the creation of my dream business and life. This story is designed to inspire you to put your own dream in a drawer now and to take one small action that moves you closer towards it today!Take the free Hacking Happy Assessment I mention in this episode via hackinghhappyassessment.com to shine a spotlight on where your opportunities for simple intentional action lie!If anything I shared in today’s episode struck a chord with you, slide into my DMs on Instagram (@hackinghappy.co) to let me know all the details!Subscribe & Review The Hacking Happy PodcastThanks for listening to this week's episode! Awkward, uncomfortable and cathartic. In today’s episode of The Hacking Happy Podcast I’m trying something different. I’m taking you inside my inner thoughts and opening up my journal to demonstrate the power of leaning into vulnerability and small acts of courage. This felt awkward, uncomfortable and cathartic all at once. The tribe has spoken and asked me for hacks on being more courageous and I felt doing this was a great way to show you what it looks and feels like.I share a recent event that triggered feelings of failure, low self-worth and shame (yes I have these moments!) and how I use journaling to process these feelings in a way that is constructive rather than destructive. If this episode resonates, let me know via hello@hackinghappy.co as I’m keen to have a regular episode where I share an extract from my journal with the intent of helping others in a way that is raw and meaningful.ResourcesIf this resonates why not grab a copy of Hacking Happiness the book here, read it and then share your experience on socials, or if you have a mailing list, share with your subscribers what you've learntIf you’re interested in digging deeper into your own happiness and realising more of it, take a look at our growing suite online programs hereA single private coaching spot is opening up with me in the coming month if you're interested click here to get the details and apply.Where To Find PennyEmailInstagramLinkedInFacebook
