I also have a feeling that there are at least one or two pregnancy announcements in your Facebook feed currently (or maybe more these days). Finally, I can also assume that you or someone close to you has responded to one of these pregnancy announcements by saying something along the lines of “when can we expect a pregnancy announcement from you?” It’s never easy to find out they are pregnant when you’ve struggled with infertility. It comes with mixed emotions and thoughts.   “Diet, lifestyle, drugs, and supplements don’t guarantee anything.” Topics Discussed: 🦩Effects of an overactive immune system. 🦩High natural killer cells. 🦩How immune-suppressing drugs affected me. 🦩How steroids affect our bodies. Our immune systems are supposed to keep us safe right?  But what happens when our immune systems are so overactive that it keeps us from getting pregnant?  In this episode, I share my own story of my overactive immune system, how I discovered that’s what my issue was and what I had to do because of it.  I also dive into our lifestyle habits, eating habits, and mental habits and how they directly relate to getting pregnant.  “We are all connected.” It can be hard to see the big picture when we are trying to eat better and maintain a healthy mental state because the payoff is not immediate and can take years.  But it is important to remember that the positive changes we are making are benefitting us in a multitude of ways and not just in helping us to conceive.  Finally, I talk about steroid use in our bodies and why we have to be extremely cautious with these.   “What I do now before pregnancy could have a big impact when my kid grows up.”   Let's Do This Together 💚 Monica   🦩 Download your FREE PDF guide:: 3 Step Guide to Improving Your Chances of Getting & Staying Pregnant || https://www.findingfertility.co/free3stepguide   🌺 Get Steps Closer to Getting & Staying Pregnant with the Fertility Food Program || https://www.findingfertility.co/FerilityFood   Connect with Monica over on:  Instagram: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityIG  TikTok: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityTikTok    🎙 Subscribe on your favourite podcast platform:⁣⁣⁣⁣ Apple: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYAPPLE⁣⁣⁣⁣ Google Play: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYGOOGLEPLAY⁣⁣⁣⁣  Stitcher: http://bit.ly/FindingFertilitySTITCHER Spotify: https://spoti.fi/3eHuAKZ     🍍Support Finding Fertility & shop for your favourite fertility-friendly products over on: Seeking Health:https://bit.ly/FFSeekingHealth Amazon:http://bit.ly/FindingFertilityAmazon  🍍 Anything written or said about health and diet are my opinions, that I have formed over the years, through trial and error, study, reading, listening and observing.   “Don’t let anyone tell you there’s nothing you can do yourself.” Topics Discussed: 🦩Not taking no for an answer. 🦩Healing yourself. 🦩The immune link to infertility. 🦩Is Your Body Baby Friendly?   This is the book that changed my life: Is Your Body Baby Friendly? How are you miss carriage in idea failure can be explained and treated with immunotherapy by Alan E. Beer, M.D. When I was told that my infertility was just “one of those things” that did not sit well with me and started me on my own journey of researching and beginning to study why I couldn’t get pregnant and work through my own health as well as mental health.  Oftentimes doctors will not take you seriously until you have several miscarriages.  This can be extremely frustrating.  A doctor wouldn’t allow you to have multiple heart attacks before looking into what is going on, and we shouldn’t accept anything different for our infertility. "We need to stop believing that our bodies and lady bits are not connected” We have to ask questions, do our research, and be willing to find someone willing to work with us.  I had nurses and doctors tell me that what I wanted to do was impossible.  Clearly, it wasn’t since I ended up getting pregnant, but it just goes to show that we cannot just take what a doctor tells us as fact and we have to be responsible for our own bodies and our own health in order to bring our dreams to reality.   “The stress of waiting to get to week twelve is insane.” Topics Discussed: 🦩Deciding on IVF 🦩The difficulties of IVF 🦩Why changing your lifestyle has more benefits than getting pregnant. 🦩Common Misconceptions with IVF We sometimes think that IVF can be a quick fix to getting pregnant, and while there are circumstances where IVF can be beneficial and can be a route for someone, often it is not an easier path, because it has its own obstacles and difficult things to get through.  It can seem easier because initially, we think that we don’t have to change the way we eat and work on our mindset, but often IVF is still unsuccessful.  “IVF is not a quick fix.” On top of that, it’s important to realize that eating better, working on our mental health, and becoming a healthier version of ourselves is very important in order for us to deal with the stress of our fertility journey and can increase our chances of IVF being successful if that is the route that needs to be taken. “Infertility is super fickle.   “The mindset is the number one thing missing from your fertility diet.”   Topics Discussed: 🦩Asking the question ‘why me’. 🦩How living in a physical world causes physical problems. 🦩The power of investigating the emotional and spiritual side. 🦩Understanding that we do difficult things for the future.   When we are on the infertility journey it can be really to ask ourselves the question ‘why me’?  What did we do to deserve this and we can go to a very dark place.  But we have to realize that this isn’t necessarily any fault of our own.  It’s not the universe telling us we are a bad person.  Rather it has to do with the genes we have been given, and the lifestyle and diet choices we have made over our life.   “The diet and lifestyle you’ve been living have a huge impact on your fertility.” We live in a physical world and physical things are going to happen to us because of that, just know it is not anything against you.  I dive into the emotional and the spiritual elements of that and how we need to dive deep into our thought process.  While that alone is not enough, it is a vital part of the process as we change our lifestyle to support our overall health and the future health of our children. “You have the power to improve your situation.”   Let's Do This Together 💚 Monica   🦩 Download your FREE PDF guide:: 3 Step Guide to Improving Your Chances of Getting & Staying Pregnant || https://www.findingfertility.co/free3stepguide   🌺 Get Steps Closer to Getting & Staying Pregnant with the Fertility Food Program || https://www.findingfertility.co/FerilityFood   Connect with Monica over on:  Instagram: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityIG  TikTok: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityTikTok    🎙 Subscribe on your favourite podcast platform:⁣⁣⁣⁣ Apple: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYAPPLE⁣⁣⁣⁣ Google Play: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYGOOGLEPLAY⁣⁣⁣⁣  Stitcher: http://bit.ly/FindingFertilitySTITCHER Spotify: https://spoti.fi/3eHuAKZ     🍍Support Finding Fertility & shop for your favourite fertility-friendly products over on: Seeking Health:https://bit.ly/FFSeekingHealth Amazon:http://bit.ly/FindingFertilityAmazon  🍍 Anything written or said about health and diet are my opinions, that I have formed over the years, through trial and error, study, reading, listening and observing. "Start with where you are at." Topics Discussed: 🦩Why you feel like crap when you start an autoimmune diet. 🦩How fast should you cut out unhealthy foods? 🦩Histamine foods, what they are, and if you should have them. 🦩Natural laxatives. 🦩Are juice cleanses necessary? When you start eating right it’s not uncommon to feel really bad at first.  Our bodies are going through a big change, and you can have withdrawals when you come off of certain foods like sugar or caffeine.  This is completely normal.  This is also why it is important to start where you are and not rush the process.  Depending on how addicted we are to certain unhealthy foods we may need to wean ourselves off it rather than going cold turkey. "Usually, the last thing to click into place is your fertility." In addition, as we change this process our bodies are cleaning themselves.  This may lead to either too many bowel movements or not enough so I am talking about how to naturally get things moving with that or how you may need to cut out certain items to slow it down.  I also tackle juice cleanses.  They have grown so much in popularity but are they really necessary and is juice cleansing really a thing? "You have to find your balance."   Let's Do This Together 💚 Monica   🦩 Download your FREE PDF guide:: 3 Step Guide to Improving Your Chances of Getting & Staying Pregnant || https://www.findingfertility.co/free3stepguide   🌺 Get Steps Closer to Getting & Staying Pregnant with the Fertility Food Program || https://www.findingfertility.co/FerilityFood   Connect with Monica over on:  Instagram: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityIG  TikTok: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityTikTok    🎙 Subscribe on your favourite podcast platform:⁣⁣⁣⁣ Apple: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYAPPLE⁣⁣⁣⁣ Google Play: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYGOOGLEPLAY⁣⁣⁣⁣  Stitcher: http://bit.ly/FindingFertilitySTITCHER Spotify: https://spoti.fi/3eHuAKZ     🍍Support Finding Fertility & shop for your favourite fertility-friendly products over on: Seeking Health:https://bit.ly/FFSeekingHealth Amazon:http://bit.ly/FindingFertilityAmazon  🍍 Anything written or said about health and diet are my opinions, that I have formed over the years, through trial and error, study, reading, listening and observing.   “Digging deeper is sometimes really necessary.” Topics Discussed: 🦩E numbers and oils, and are they hurting you? 🦩Why when you start eating clean you can feel like crap. 🦩How long do you need to be on your specific diet? 🦩Passing down dirty genes. In this episode, I am discussing a lot of common questions I get asked. We are starting with our overall health, along with generational health.  We have a tendency to look at our grandparents and their way of life and think they are healthy, but what we don’t realize is generational with the introduction of more unhealthy products, rancid oils, and more that our health is consistently growing worse with each generation.  This is why it’s important to focus on our health not only for ourselves but to improve the genes of our future children because we are the ones passing on to them the genes they will have forever. “Working with someone can get you on the right track. I also talk about foods that we are told are healthy by food industries and marketing companies, but actually are filled with products that are not good for us.  I fell into this with constantly going to whole foods thinking that everything in there must be healthy but upon further examination found many unhealthy products in “health” food.  This is why it’s so important to really examine everything we put in our bodies.  “The less boxed food you eat, the less you risk eating inflammatory foods.”   Let's Do This Together 💚 Monica   🦩 Download your FREE PDF guide:: 3 Step Guide to Improving Your Chances of Getting & Staying Pregnant || https://www.findingfertility.co/free3stepguide   🌺 Get Steps Closer to Getting & Staying Pregnant with the Fertility Food Program || https://www.findingfertility.co/FerilityFood   Connect with Monica over on:  Instagram: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityIG  TikTok: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityTikTok    🎙 Subscribe on your favourite podcast platform:⁣⁣⁣⁣ Apple: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYAPPLE⁣⁣⁣⁣ Google Play: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYGOOGLEPLAY⁣⁣⁣⁣  Stitcher: http://bit.ly/FindingFertilitySTITCHER Spotify: https://spoti.fi/3eHuAKZ     🍍Support Finding Fertility & shop for your favourite fertility-friendly products over on: Seeking Health:https://bit.ly/FFSeekingHealth Amazon:http://bit.ly/FindingFertilityAmazon  🍍 Anything written or said about health and diet are my opinions, that I have formed over the years, through trial and error, study, reading, listening and observing. In this episode, I am answering your questions and we dive into some really good ones.  We dive more into diets and the importance of finding the foods you are intolerant to.  In addition, we talk about timing.  It can be easy to want things to happen right away when we change up our diet and lifestyle habits and when we don’t see the immediate change we can throw our hands up and tell ourselves we tried.  But these changes do not happen overnight. “You don’t have to be perfect to get pregnant.” We have spent years adding to our inflammation problems, and unhealthy habits, and it can take time to restore our body’s health.  In addition, we talk about what secondary infertility is and how it is similar and different from unexplained infertility.  In addition, we dive a bit into endometriosis and what it is, and how to deal with it.   “If your cycle is irregular this is a big sign that your health is not where it should be.” Topics Discussed: 🦩Are irregular menstrual cycles normal? 🦩What is normal when you have your period? 🦩How we should approach and respond to tests. 🦩What is the best type of food intolerance tests and are they all similar? Growing up we are not often educated on what is normal and what is not when it comes to our menstrual cycles.  Our education or parental guidance can sometimes be next to none.  Even doctors can sometimes tell us that the severe symptoms we are experiencing are normal when in fact they are not.  “It’s not normal to have severe menstrual symptoms.” We have to be intentional with both learnings about our bodies and listening to our bodies. There is no one size fits and no cycle that will look exactly the same, but we have to learn what is regular for us.  We shouldn’t be experiencing severe mood swings or severe symptoms when we PMS, but take that as a sign that something is off with our overall health and learn how to correct that.  “Normal is having a healthy flow that is regular for you every month.” Like other symptoms that can flare up in our bodies, our cycle can be a tell-tale sign of how we are doing and we need to be aware of it and not necessarily take things at face value just because that’s what we were taught or we’ve been told “that’s just how it is.” “Your gut is like a different gut every 7-8 days.”   Let's Do This Together 💚 Monica   🦩 Download your FREE PDF guide:: 3 Step Guide to Improving Your Chances of Getting & Staying Pregnant || https://www.findingfertility.co/free3stepguide   🌺 Get Steps Closer to Getting & Staying Pregnant with the Fertility Food Program || https://www.findingfertility.co/FerilityFood   Connect with Monica over on:  Instagram: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityIG  TikTok: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityTikTok    🎙 Subscribe on your favourite podcast platform:⁣⁣⁣⁣ Apple: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYAPPLE⁣⁣⁣⁣ Google Play: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYGOOGLEPLAY⁣⁣⁣⁣  Stitcher: http://bit.ly/FindingFertilitySTITCHER Spotify: https://spoti.fi/3eHuAKZ     🍍Support Finding Fertility & shop for your favourite fertility-friendly products over on: Seeking Health:https://bit.ly/FFSeekingHealth Amazon:http://bit.ly/FindingFertilityAmazon  🍍 Anything written or said about health and diet are my opinions, that I have formed over the years, through trial and error, study, reading, listening and observing.   Infertility is all about finding that root cause. Topics Discussed: 🦩Diets for PCOS 🦩The Importance of your thyroid health. 🦩Getting your spouse on board. In today’s episode, I am answering questions I have received.  Everyone’s journey is unique and not the same exact thing will work for everyone, but there are many commonalities and we can learn from each other on this journey.  While diet is extremely important, there is no one size fits all to diets, and we have to be cautious of anyone who flat out tells us we need to be on a certain diet if we have had extensive food intolerance testing. We don’t want just ‘fine'. I also dive into thyroid health and how big of a role your thyroid plays in your journey to getting pregnant.  I also tackle the tough topic of getting your spouse on board if they are unwilling. I share my own story of dealing with my spouse in the beginning and how I came to a breaking point and had to have a conversation with him about supporting me and the importance of doing this together. You have to find your food intolerances. Remember this is a journey and we can’t expect to have all the answers at once, but to slowly make steps and build upon them as we make strides to our ultimate goal of getting pregnant and carrying to birth. You’ll need three months to improve both egg and sperm quality.   Let's Do This Together 💚 Monica   🦩 Download your FREE PDF guide:: 3 Step Guide to Improving Your Chances of Getting & Staying Pregnant || https://www.findingfertility.co/free3stepguide   🌺 Get Steps Closer to Getting & Staying Pregnant with the Fertility Food Program || https://www.findingfertility.co/FerilityFood   Connect with Monica over on:  Instagram: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityIG  TikTok: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityTikTok    🎙 Subscribe on your favourite podcast platform:⁣⁣⁣⁣ Apple: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYAPPLE⁣⁣⁣⁣ Google Play: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYGOOGLEPLAY⁣⁣⁣⁣  Stitcher: http://bit.ly/FindingFertilitySTITCHER Spotify: https://spoti.fi/3eHuAKZ     🍍Support Finding Fertility & shop for your favourite fertility-friendly products over on: Seeking Health:https://bit.ly/FFSeekingHealth Amazon:http://bit.ly/FindingFertilityAmazon  🍍 Anything written or said about health and diet are my opinions, that I have formed over the years, through trial and error, study, reading, listening and observing.   Functional medicine should not be a class or money thing. Topics Discussed: 🦩The top two things you need to commit to finding your right diet. 🦩The importance of accountability. 🦩Why you need self-love. 🦩How willpower is not enough. When it comes to following through with things we are much more likely to stick with something when someone else is counting on us.  This is why accountability is so important on our infertility journey.  Both accountability to ourselves and accountability to others is a vital key to our success. You need accountability. One thing I have found working with women on this journey and from my own personal journey is that we are really bad with self negativity sometimes.  We tell ourselves we are to blame for this, or it is punishment for past mistakes, or we aren’t fit enough. Whatever it is, we tend to talk down to ourselves.  But we have to switch this self-sabotage to a dialogue of self-love with ourselves.   I love to hold myself accountable for the things I believe are going to get me to my goal. Another thing I address in this episode is willpower.  We are told that we just need more willpower to exercise, more willpower to eat healthily, etc.  But in truth willpower alone is not enough.  We have ingrained habits that we have developed over years and there is emotion tied to many of our eating decisions, and stress plays a role and we can’t just expect to “will” those things away all of a sudden.  Instead, we have to explore and understand our patterns and make slow adjustments. We have ingrained patterns that we have to explore and understand.   Let's Do This Together 💚 Monica   🦩 Download your FREE PDF guide:: 3 Step Guide to Improving Your Chances of Getting & Staying Pregnant || https://www.findingfertility.co/free3stepguide   🌺 Get Steps Closer to Getting & Staying Pregnant with the Fertility Food Program || https://www.findingfertility.co/FerilityFood   Connect with Monica over on:  Instagram: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityIG  TikTok: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityTikTok    🎙 Subscribe on your favourite podcast platform:⁣⁣⁣⁣ Apple: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYAPPLE⁣⁣⁣⁣ Google Play: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYGOOGLEPLAY⁣⁣⁣⁣  Stitcher: http://bit.ly/FindingFertilitySTITCHER Spotify: https://spoti.fi/3eHuAKZ     🍍Support Finding Fertility & shop for your favourite fertility-friendly products over on: Seeking Health:https://bit.ly/FFSeekingHealth Amazon:http://bit.ly/FindingFertilityAmazon  🍍 Anything written or said about health and diet are my opinions, that I have formed over the years, through trial and error, study, reading, listening, and observing.   “The issue with fertility is that we need our whole body and it’s all connected.” Topics Discussed: 🦩Warning signs that we often think are normal. 🦩The cause of cysts and how to deal with them. 🦩How to lower your inflammation. 🦩Dealing with stress. In this episode, I dive into what I thought was normal when it came to inflammatory issues.  I had so many warning signs in my teens and twenties.  I thought it was normal for me to look bloated after having certain meals, or I thought it was normal to naturally be smelly. I also always had throat issues and thought it was just “normal” things different people went through. But these are all early warning signs that we need to look at more closely. “More women are having cysts because their bodies are so inflamed.” Sometimes when we have issues such as these we tend to look at the medical issues, and we go to the infertility doctors all while ignoring the whole-body perspective.  Eating right, and getting our health in order is not an easy thing, but in order to get to the root of the problem, we have to take a closer look at the whole body.   “After 8 years of infertility, I got pregnant naturally.” We also think that age plays such a role, and while it does, I am an example that age is not the end-all.  I could not get pregnant in my mid-twenties but did get pregnant at 37.  Health plays more of a role than age. “Infertility sucks.” Let's Do This Together 💚 Monica   🦩 Download your FREE PDF guide :: 3 Step Guide to Improving Your Chances of Getting & Staying Pregnant || https://www.findingfertility.co/free3stepguide   🌺 Get Steps Closer to Getting & Staying Pregnant with the Fertility Food Program || https://www.findingfertility.co/FerilityFood   Connect with Monica over on:  Instagram: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityIG  TikTok: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityTikTok    🎙 Subscribe on your favourite podcast platform:⁣⁣⁣⁣ Apple: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYAPPLE⁣⁣⁣⁣ Google Play: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYGOOGLEPLAY⁣⁣⁣⁣  Stitcher: http://bit.ly/FindingFertilitySTITCHER Spotify: https://spoti.fi/3eHuAKZ     🍍Support Finding Fertility & shop for your favourite fertility-friendly products over on: Seeking Health:https://bit.ly/FFSeekingHealth Amazon:http://bit.ly/FindingFertilityAmazon  🍍 Anything written or said about health and diet are my opinions, that I have formed over the years, through trial and error, study, reading, listening and observing. That’s why I highly encourage you, even if you are going for IVF to really hone in on changing your diet and getting yourself to the healthiest state possible.  This can take some time, and while I know we are usually extremely anxious to get started on IVF, it’s better sometimes to give ourselves some time to get healthy before jumping into it.  I recommend at least three months of lifestyle and diet changes before going in for IVF.   “Your health plays an important part in IVF working.”   In addition, I am taking your questions and dive into endometriosis, supplements, and much more.  There are so many questions and sometimes unknowns in the fertility world which is why I love to sit down and help you with a lot of the common questions that can arise when you are on this journey.  From egg health to maintaining your ovulation levels after ovulation we are diving into so much rich content today.  Let’s do this together!   “Our whole body is connected.”   Let's Do This Together 💚 Monica   🦩 Download your FREE PDF guide :: 3 Step Guide to Improving Your Chances of Getting & Staying Pregnant || https://www.findingfertility.co/free3stepguide   🌺 Get Steps Closer to Getting & Staying Pregnant with the Fertility Food Program || https://www.findingfertility.co/FerilityFood   Connect with Monica over on:  Instagram: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityIG  TikTok: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityTikTok    🎙 Subscribe on your favourite podcast platform:⁣⁣⁣⁣ Apple: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYAPPLE⁣⁣⁣⁣ Google Play: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYGOOGLEPLAY⁣⁣⁣⁣  Stitcher: http://bit.ly/FindingFertilitySTITCHER Spotify: https://spoti.fi/3eHuAKZ     🍍Support Finding Fertility & shop for your favourite fertility-friendly products over on: Seeking Health:https://bit.ly/FFSeekingHealth Amazon:http://bit.ly/FindingFertilityAmazon  🍍 Anything written or said about health and diet are my opinions, that I have formed over the years, through trial and error, study, reading, listening and observing. “Fertility is fickle, there is nothing written in stone.”   Topics Discussed: 🦩Will cysts go away on their own? 🦩How birth control changes our hormones and fertility health.  🦩How your body needs to reset once getting off birth control. 🦩Dealing with stress and anxiety.   In today’s episode, I took your questions online and answered them so we cover a vast array of topics from ovarian cysts, to supplements, to eating healthy.  I know how overwhelming this journey can be but it is truly a matter of three main things, your diet, your lifestyle, and your mindset and I am here to provide you with simple steps you can take to improve each of those things. “Focus on the things you can control.” We are told so often that our one answer is just on the medical side, and while sometimes that can greatly help us, it’s often not enough.  We have to be making steps in our own lifestyles, we have to take steps to a healthier version of ourselves.  I also dive into the effects of birth control, and how we need to detox from it, once we come off it and are ready to try to conceive.  It can affect our hormones greatly and no two of us are the same when it comes to how exactly it affects us.  “Focus on your diet and lifestyle.” Let's Do This Together 💚 Monica   🦩 Download your FREE PDF guide :: 3 Step Guide to Improving Your Chances of Getting & Staying Pregnant || https://www.findingfertility.co/free3stepguide   🌺 Get Steps Closer to Getting & Staying Pregnant with the Fertility Food Program || https://www.findingfertility.co/FerilityFood   Connect with Monica over on:  Instagram: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityIG  TikTok: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityTikTok    🎙 Subscribe on your favourite podcast platform:⁣⁣⁣⁣ Apple: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYAPPLE⁣⁣⁣⁣ Google Play: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYGOOGLEPLAY⁣⁣⁣⁣  Stitcher: http://bit.ly/FindingFertilitySTITCHER Spotify: https://spoti.fi/3eHuAKZ     🍍Support Finding Fertility & shop for your favourite fertility-friendly products over on: Seeking Health:https://bit.ly/FFSeekingHealth Amazon:http://bit.ly/FindingFertilityAmazon  🍍 Anything written or said about health and diet are my opinions, that I have formed over the years, through trial and error, study, reading, listening and observing. In today’s episode, I am answering your questions on food intolerances and more.  There are many different food intolerance tests and not all are created equal.  I dive into what tests I recommend and think work the best.  Then once we get our test results where do we go from there?  It can be overwhelming when you receive your results especially if there are a lot of intolerances that come back from your tests.  But everything doesn’t have to be all at once.  We can make small steps towards changing our diet.  Baby steps are okay.  Sometimes if we are intolerant to food it will flare right up and we will see external signs, but sometimes our intolerances are more hidden so we have to really take a deep look.  Usually, we see the common inflammatory foods pop up on most tests, but we also see a lot of random foods pop up so it is always good to get thorough testing done. “IVF is not a long-term solution to health.” I also dive into questions about water fasting, getting the nutrients you need, folic acid, cycles, and much more.  There is no one quick fix, but when we slowly begin to implement the different diet, lifestyle, and mental attributes we can make great strides.    Let's Do This Together 💚 Monica   🦩 Download your FREE PDF guide :: 3 Step Guide to Improving Your Chances of Getting & Staying Pregnant || https://www.findingfertility.co/free3stepguide   🌺 Get Steps Closer to Getting & Staying Pregnant with the Fertility Food Program || https://www.findingfertility.co/FerilityFood   Connect with Monica over on:  Instagram: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityIG  TikTok: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityTikTok    🎙 Subscribe on your favourite podcast platform:⁣⁣⁣⁣ Apple: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYAPPLE⁣⁣⁣⁣ Google Play: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYGOOGLEPLAY⁣⁣⁣⁣  Stitcher: http://bit.ly/FindingFertilitySTITCHER Spotify: https://spoti.fi/3eHuAKZ     🍍Support Finding Fertility & shop for your favourite fertility-friendly products over on: Seeking Health:https://bit.ly/FFSeekingHealth Amazon:http://bit.ly/FindingFertilityAmazon  🍍 Anything written or said about health and diet are my opinions, that I have formed over the years, through trial and error, study, reading, listening and observing. “Motherhood doesn’t define us.” Topics Discussed: 🦩Focusing inward on our journey. 🦩The importance of focusing on your mindset. 🦩Finding your value. 🦩Maintaining sanity during this pandemic.  On today's episode of the  Finding Fertility Podcast :: How to Deal With the Lows of Infertility We know that this journey of infertility can be extremely difficult.  It can cause us to question our very worth.  It causes us to question if we have a purpose if we are unable to get pregnant and brings our womanhood into question.  But I am here to tell you in this episode that motherhood does not define you as a whole.  You are worth so much, and you have so much to give outside of children.  We can wrap our identities up so much into getting pregnant that we forget our value aside from that. “The number one thing missing from your diet is your mindset.” In this episode, I dive into the importance of recognizing our worth.  In addition, I talk about our mindset. When it comes to issues that we find as we begin to take tests on why we are infertile, the root of it almost always comes back around to an unhealthy diet, mindset, and lifestyle.  When we begin to focus on those three key areas, often the underlying problems relating to our infertility disappear.   “You don’t have to be perfect to get pregnant.” It can be overwhelming when we think of taking on all those three main things, diet,  mindset, and lifestyle, especially when put on top of the pandemic we are in, and our infertility.  But it doesn’t have to be all at once.  Focus on one small step you can take to move towards a healthier diet or lifestyle.  Get comfortable with that one thing, then add one other thing in, and begin to slow step your way towards a healthier you. “There are simple ways you can start moving your body.’    Let's Do This Together 💚 Monica   🦩 Download your FREE PDF guide :: 3 Step Guide to Improving Your Chances of Getting & Staying Pregnant || https://www.findingfertility.co/free3stepguide   🌺 Get Steps Closer to Getting & Staying Pregnant with the Fertility Food Program || https://www.findingfertility.co/FerilityFood   Connect with Monica over on:  Instagram: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityIG  TikTok: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityTikTok    🎙 Subscribe on your favourite podcast platform:⁣⁣⁣⁣ Apple: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYAPPLE⁣⁣⁣⁣ Google Play: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYGOOGLEPLAY⁣⁣⁣⁣  Stitcher: http://bit.ly/FindingFertilitySTITCHER Spotify: https://spoti.fi/3eHuAKZ    🍍Support Finding Fertility & shop for your favourite fertility-friendly products over on: Seeking Health:https://bit.ly/FFSeekingHealth Amazon:http://bit.ly/FindingFertilityAmazon  🍍 Anything written or said about health and diet are my opinions, that I have formed over the years, through trial and error, study, reading, listening and observing. On today's episode of the  Finding Fertility Podcast :: How to Get Your Partner to Take a Sperm Test  “There’s no past life putting this on you.” When it comes to lifestyle changes we all can do things to improve it and improve our chances of fertility.  Today I answer your questions and help deep dive into some common issues.  In this episode, I cover your partner’s low sex drive and how to approach your spouse so that they recognize their need to make lifestyle changes.  There is no one size fits all to this but I walk you through some options.  “There’s nothing wrong with you.” In addition, we talk about the importance of managing your stress levels and why this plays such a big role in your journey.  Stress can often undo so much of our hard work, which is why we have to be sure and focus on it. We also discuss supplements.  We can often think that supplements are the end-all solution, but in truth, if our stress levels are high, if we are not changing the way we eat or our lifestyle and we are not figuring out what foods we are insensitive to, then we are ultimately spending a lot of money for nothing.  We will dive into the importance of starting small, and making simple lifestyle and eating changes to make lasting long term effects on your health. “We have to take control of the emotions.”    Let's Do This Together 💚 Monica   🦩 Download your FREE PDF guide :: 3 Step Guide to Improving Your Chances of Getting & Staying Pregnant || https://www.findingfertility.co/free3stepguide   🌺 Get Steps Closer to Getting & Staying Pregnant with the Fertility Food Program || https://www.findingfertility.co/FerilityFood   Connect with Monica over on:  Instagram: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityIG  TikTok: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityTikTok    🎙 Subscribe on your favourite podcast platform:⁣⁣⁣⁣ Apple: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYAPPLE⁣⁣⁣⁣ Google Play: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYGOOGLEPLAY⁣⁣⁣⁣  Stitcher: http://bit.ly/FindingFertilitySTITCHER Spotify: https://spoti.fi/3eHuAKZ    🍍Support Finding Fertility & shop for your favourite fertility-friendly products over on: Seeking Health:https://bit.ly/FFSeekingHealth Amazon:http://bit.ly/FindingFertilityAmazon    🍍   Anything written or said about health and diet are my opinions, that I have formed over the years, through trial and error, study, reading, listening and observing. “Don’t feel overwhelmed that you have to fix all these issues.” Topics Discussed: 🦩What tipping points look like. 🦩How past trauma affects your physical body. 🦩How other issues trickle down to infertility. 🦩How to tackle root causes.    On today's episode of the  Finding Fertility Podcast :: Is Secondary Infertility the Same as Unexplained Infertility? You can only mistreat your body for so long before it stops working like it used to.  Our bodies handle inflammatory foods and deal with them the best they can but eventually, we begin to have symptoms that start popping up.  It’s not that all of a sudden something different happened, but that our bodies have reached that tipping point and can no longer handle the diet and lifestyle we are subjecting it to. “Your body has a tipping point.” In addition to the diet and lifestyle habits that can wreak havoc on our bodies, we also have the trauma and stress side of things.  Trauma can greatly impact our bodies and not just extreme cases of trauma, but even what is considered “minor” by society can have a great impact on our bodies.  We have to deep dive and take into consideration what things we may have never dealt with. “Food intolerance is linked to what’s going on in your body.” As we begin to have reactions or our bodies respond negatively towards foods and stressors, we can begin to address these different causes, both with the diet side and the mindset and lifestyle side. Rather than being overwhelmed with all the issues we need to correct, we can rest assured that as we begin to restore our bodies, find our inflammatory foods, and stressors, all the issues begin to slowly resolve. “The cool thing is, if you are addressing the root causes of your body’s issues, all your issues will slowly reverse."  Let's Do This Together 💚 Monica   🦩  Download your FREE PDF guide :: 3 Step Guide to Improving Your Chances of Getting & Staying Pregnant || https://www.findingfertility.co/free3stepguide    🌺 Get Steps Closer to Getting & Staying Pregnant with the Fertility Food Program || https://www.findingfertility.co/FerilityFood   Connect with Monica over on:  Instagram: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityIG  TikTok: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityTikTok    🎙 Subscribe on your favourite podcast platform:⁣⁣⁣⁣ Apple: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYAPPLE⁣⁣⁣⁣ Google Play: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYGOOGLEPLAY⁣⁣⁣⁣  Stitcher: http://bit.ly/FindingFertilitySTITCHER Spotify: https://spoti.fi/3eHuAKZ    🍍Support Finding Fertility & shop for your favourite fertility-friendly products over on: Seeking Health:https://bit.ly/FFSeekingHealth Amazon:http://bit.ly/FindingFertilityAmazon    🍍   Anything written or said about health and diet are my opinions, that I have formed over the years, through trial and error, study, reading, listening and observing.  “Take a stance for your body.” Topics Discussed: 🦩Miscarriages and the misconceptions of doctors. 🦩 Improving your egg quality. 🦩How failure can push us forward. 🦩Fighting for your body with your doctor. On today's episode of the  Finding Fertility Podcast :: How to Deal with Recurrent Miscarriages For us to be considered candidates for insurance for IVF,  doctors tell us that we have to experience three miscarriages.  But this type of thought process is ludicrous.  We have to understand that it is traumatic going through that and have to take a strong stance for our bodies. Doctors are often not educated on autoimmune disorders. Sometimes they simply don’t know the information, and other times they choose to have closed minds and not listen.  “The gut is the driver for things going on in your body.” This is why it is so important for us to be educated and to know that we ultimately have the final say. I wish I had more confidence in my journey to speak up to my doctors, ask questions, and let them know what I wanted, as it would have saved me a lot of frustration on the journey.  In this episode, we dive into taking ownership of your health even in the doctor’s office.   “Trust your gut.”  Let's Do This Together 💚 Monica   🦩Download your FREE PDF guide :: 3 Step Guide to Improving Your Chances of Getting & Staying Pregnant || https://www.findingfertility.co/free3stepguide     🌺 Get Steps Closer to Getting & Staying Pregnant with the Fertility Food Program || https://www.findingfertility.co/FerilityFood   Connect with Monica over on:  Instagram: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityIG  TikTok: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityTikTok    🎙 Subscribe on your favourite podcast platform:⁣⁣⁣⁣ Apple: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYAPPLE⁣⁣⁣⁣ Google Play: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYGOOGLEPLAY⁣⁣⁣⁣  Stitcher: http://bit.ly/FindingFertilitySTITCHER Spotify: https://spoti.fi/3eHuAKZ    🍍Support Finding Fertility & shop for your favourite fertility-friendly products over on: Seeking Health:https://bit.ly/FFSeekingHealth Amazon:http://bit.ly/FindingFertilityAmazon    🍍   Anything written or said about health and diet are my opinions, that I have formed over the years, through trial and error, study, reading, listening and observing. “You can be eating the perfect diet but if you are not addressing your stress it can wreak havoc.” Topics Discussed: 🦩 Finding your inflammatory foods. 🦩 Changing your autoimmune disorder through food. 🦩 How to improve your gut health. On today's episode of the  Finding Fertility Podcast :: What is the Best Fertility Diet? When it comes to our autoimmune disorders and getting pregnant naturally we often turn to some of the mainstream diets in order to solve those problems.  But often these diets fail to address the specific foods that cause inflammation problems in us.   That is why it is so crucial that we discover what foods give us as individuals problems.  This can be done through tests that show us what our food intolerances are. I get it, jumping on an already set diet plan is an easier option, but you can follow diets and still live an unhealthy lifestyle.  So where do we start with determining what foods disagree with us? The easiest way to start is by looking at the top five inflammatory foods, which are: gluten, corn, soy, dairy, and sugar.  While these items are not all-inclusive, just by examining these items we can usually determine the cause of many of our gut health issues. “We’ve had two or three generations not know how damaging our diet and lifestyles have been to our body.” We also are going to dive into supplementation. Remember, supplements are to come alongside a great diet, they can’t fix a poor diet.  But even with supplements, we have to be careful.  Just because we are purchasing high quality and well-known supplements does not mean they are the right fit for you.  Just as with food, supplements can cause adverse reactions in different people so it’s important to find which ones are right for you. “Sometimes we think things aren’t issues, when they actually are.”    Let's Do This Together 💚 Monica   🦩Download your FREE PDF guide :: 3 Step Guide to Improving Your Chances of Getting & Staying Pregnant || https://www.findingfertility.co/free3stepguide     🌺 Get Steps Closer to Getting & Staying Pregnant with the Fertility Food Program || https://www.findingfertility.co/FerilityFood   Connect with Monica over on:  Instagram: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityIG  TikTok: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityTikTok    🎙 Subscribe on your favourite podcast platform:⁣⁣⁣⁣ Apple: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYAPPLE⁣⁣⁣⁣ Google Play: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYGOOGLEPLAY⁣⁣⁣⁣  Stitcher: http://bit.ly/FindingFertilitySTITCHER Spotify: https://spoti.fi/3eHuAKZ    🍍Support Finding Fertility & shop for your favourite fertility-friendly products over on: Seeking Health:https://bit.ly/FFSeekingHealth Amazon:http://bit.ly/FindingFertilityAmazon    🍍   Anything written or said about health and diet are my opinions, that I have formed over the years, through trial and error, study, reading, listening and observing. That doesn’t mean it was easy, but it wasn’t until she decided to make her own decisions rather than relying on what the doctors were telling her. Topics Discussed: 🦩What causes high natural killer cells. 🦩Finding your food intolerances. 🦩What it looks like to confirm three months in a row that you are ovulating around the same time for you, and confirm with Proov:: https://bit.ly/PROOV5OFF 🦩How much should you exercise?   "You influence how your genes react."   In this episode, I wanted to address some questions that have been asked of me and get to the root of some common problems that we face with infertility.    "You need a healthy endocrine system to have healthy hormones."   Gut health is one of the most important places to start, and when we have infertility issues, we need to look there first. Often when we have high natural killer cells, it is a direct result of poor gut health. While it needs to be addressed, we have to realize that it's not a direct fault of our own, but we are not raised to understand gut health and most typical diets don't do much to promote a healthy gut.   "Diet is one of the top ways we are damaging our gut."   The good news is we can begin to make changes to turn our gut health around. The first step to reversing your gut health in a positive direction is being tested for food intolerances.    It is tough to get your gut health on track without first taking this step because we can't pinpoint what foods are causing inflammation in your body until a food intolerance test takes place.   Finally, in this Q&A, I wrap up with a question on exercise, and how much if any should we be doing?    I know this may seem like a no-brainer question, but in reality, some types of exercises place much stress on the adrenals, which are counter-intuitive to what we are trying to accomplish.   "You need a little kumbaya in your life."    Let's Do This Together 💚 Monica 🦩 Download your FREE PDF guide :: 3 Steps You Need To Get Right to Improve Your Chances of Getting & Staying Pregnant || https://www.findingfertility.co/free3stepguide   🌺 Get Steps Closer to Getting & Staying Pregnant with the Fertility Food Program || https://www.findingfertility.co/FerilityFood   Connect with Monica over on:  Instagram: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityIG  TikTok: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityTikTok    🎙 Subscribe on your favourite podcast platform:⁣⁣⁣⁣ Apple: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYAPPLE⁣⁣⁣⁣ Google Play: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYGOOGLEPLAY⁣⁣⁣⁣  Stitcher: http://bit.ly/FindingFertilitySTITCHER Spotify: https://spoti.fi/3eHuAKZ    🍍Support Finding Fertility & shop for your favourite fertility-friendly products over on: Seeking Health:https://bit.ly/FFSeekingHealth Amazon:http://bit.ly/FindingFertilityAmazon    🍍   Anything written or said about health and diet are my opinions, that I have formed over the years, through trial and error, study, reading, listening and observing. Q&A || How to Improve your Chances of Getting Pregnant When You’re Dealing With Perimenopause, Low Ovarian Reserve & Unexplained Infertility Our genetic health for fertility starts with our grandmothers. Our environment and things that may not seem sinister at the time can be signs that we are dealing with issues even from an early age.  “If something is wrong in one area of the body it can impact another area.” I had terrible allergies as a teenager along with stomach problems, and I believe I was infertile even as a young woman.  My mom had hormonal problems so I started with “less cards”... so to speak. Finding the right diet, learning how to deal with life stressors, and developing better-coping strategies can all have a big impact on your fertility because you are supporting your gut health. “You can improve your infertility no matter what issue you are dealing with.” While there are some “hard no” going back points (depending on the seriousness of your issue) for the most part, you CAN improve almost any circumstance. “Life in general has a huge impact on your gut health.”   Let's Do This Together 💚 Monica 🦩 Download your FREE PDF guide :: 3 Steps You Need To Get Right to Improve Your Chances of Getting & Staying Pregnant || https://www.findingfertility.co/free3stepguide   🌺 Get Steps Closer to Getting & Staying Pregnant with the Fertility Food Program || https://www.findingfertility.co/FerilityFood   Connect with Monica over on:  Instagram: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityIG  TikTok: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityTikTok    🎙 Subscribe on your favourite podcast platform:⁣⁣⁣⁣ Apple: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYAPPLE⁣⁣⁣⁣ Google Play: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYGOOGLEPLAY⁣⁣⁣⁣  Stitcher: http://bit.ly/FindingFertilitySTITCHER Spotify: https://spoti.fi/3eHuAKZ   🍍Support Finding Fertility & shop for your favourite fertility-friendly products over on: Seeking Health:https://bit.ly/FFSeekingHealth Amazon:http://bit.ly/FindingFertilityAmazon    🍍   Anything written or said about health and diet are my opinions, that I have formed over the years, through trial and error, study, reading, listening and observing. When it comes to PMS, we have come to a point where we accept whatever it throws at us.  We deal with pain, aches, cramping even when it is extreme because we have begun to believe that is normal.  But PMS pain especially when it is intense is not normal.  So how do we evaluate whether or not our PMS is normal or if we need to re-evaluate it.  In this episode I sit down with Lisa Hendrickson-Jack as we discuss what a normal healthy cycle looks like and what we should begin to evaluate if our cycle looks different.   We also dive into how health, exercise, sleep and what we eat play so much of a role not only in our infertility journey but in how our body’s respond to and make hormones. We have to learn how to listen to our bodies and recognize when something is off based on us, rather than what someone else, or even society tells us.       Topics Discussed: Pain during PMS. Acknowledging the cyclical nature of the menstrual cycle. The effects of stress on our hormones. The importance of sleep.   --   Quotes: “Pain during your period is not normal.” “There is a time when we need to step back and take care of ourselves.” “We think of situational stresses, but there are also chronic stresses.” “Excess of sugar causes stress.”   --   Connect with Lisa Hendrickson-Jack: Website: http://thefifthvitalsignbook.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/fertilityfriday/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FertilityFridays/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/fertilefriday Podcast on iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/ca/podcast/fertility-friday-radio-fertility/id953371091?mt=2 -- Connect with us!   🦩Download your FREE Your 3 Step Guide to Improving Your Chances of Getting and Staying Pregnant: https://www.findingfertility.co/perfectfertilitydiet   🌺 Get Steps Closer to Getting & Staying Pregnant with a Personalized Health Coaching:https://www.findingfertility.co/FertilityHealthCoaching   Website: https://www.findingfertility.co/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/findingfertility/ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@findingfertility?source=h5_m   🍍HELP SUPPORT THE SHOW 🍍  You can shop for your favourite fertility support products over on: Seeking Health:https://bit.ly/FFSeekingHealth  Amazon:http://bit.ly/FindingFertilityAmazon      🎙 Subscribe on your favourite podcast platform:⁣⁣⁣⁣ Apple: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYAPPLE⁣⁣⁣⁣ Google Play: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYGOOGLEPLAY⁣⁣⁣⁣  Stitcher: http://bit.ly/FindingFertilitySTITCHER Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/0BMtwCvdyR4aJyfSfcKh6i   🍍 Anything written or said about health and diet are my opinions, that I have formed over the years, through trial and error, study, reading, listening and observing. When you start off on our journey to change the way you eat to better gut health it can be overwhelming.  You want to make sure you get everything right.  As a result you can oftentimes be very hard on yourself to the point where you believe you have to be perfect & when you fail you load blame and guilt onto yourself. In this episode I sit down and candidly talk about the very real struggles with food and the temptations that come on a regular basis.  How to deal with them, and how to come to terms with the fact that we won’t always eat perfectly and that is okay.  I also talk about how to prepare for the holiday seasons that are approaching and how to stay on track with your nutrition despite the holidays just around the corner.    Topics Discussed: How we are not incorporating a diet but a lifestyle. Not letting fear of food cripple us. Why we can’t expect ourselves to be perfect. Sticking to your eating plan though the holidays.   Quotes: “We are creating a new lifestyle.” “It is okay to not be perfect.” “What matters is how many times you try again.” “Not perfect is completely normal.”   Connect with us! In this episode, I sit down with Melissa from Confetti and Vodka and we talk about her own infertility journey.  Her husband had battles and overcame cancer, and they battled infertility together.  From having to move out of the country to transferring sperm that was taken 10 years ago, she shares the trials that she went through. Amidst it all Melissa shares how she was completely open about the journey she and her husband were going through and she expresses how that helped them so much in an otherwise lonely time of moving out of the country and going through all the things associated with infertility. We also talk about having a life outside of your infertility journey and how that can be stressful in and of itself when we have to give up some of the things we love to focus on our infertility journey, but we also discuss how important it is to hold onto the things that bring us joy in life.     Topics Discussed: Why you should not keep your journey a secret. The measures you will take on your infertility journey. The reality of having to move because of infertility. -- Quotes: “You’re going to make mistakes and you have to forgive yourself.” “You put your life on hold for infertility.” “Your joys heal you.”   Connect with Melissa from @confettiandvodka: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/confettiandvodka   Connect with us! 🍍🦩Download your FREE 3 Things that can make all the difference in helping you get & stay pregnant here: https://www.findingfertility.co/perfectfertilitydiet   🌺 Get Steps Closer to Getting & Staying Pregnant with a Personalized Health Coaching:https://www.findingfertility.co/FertilityHealthCoaching Instagram: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityIG  TikTok: https://bit.ly/FindingFertilityTikTok      🍍HELP SUPPORT THE SHOW 🍍  You can shop for your favourite fertility support products over on: Seeking Health:https://bit.ly/FFSeekingHealth & Amazon:http://bit.ly/FindingFertilityAmazon      🎙 Subscribe on your favourite podcast platform:⁣⁣⁣⁣ Apple: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYAPPLE⁣⁣⁣⁣ Google Play: http://bit.ly/FINDINGFERTILITYGOOGLEPLAY⁣⁣⁣⁣  Stitcher: http://bit.ly/FindingFertilitySTITCHER   🍍 Anything written or said about health and diet are my opinions, that I have formed over the years, through trial and error, study, reading, listening, and observing.
