What a fascinating episode.   Dr. Mark Ryall explains his book, a fiction, Age-Decoded, which is about genetic engineering technology and takes place in the future.  Mark says it's not "fantasy" science fiction, rather it is speculative science fiction based in the period of 2053 to 2256.When asked what inspired him to write this book, Mark says "well, I'm getting older".  :)  Also, being an athlete, he says he realizes how you do slow down as you age.   He was reading an article about genetic engineering and this is what led him to write this book.We discussed the pluses and minuses of genetic engineering and choosing to be age de-coded and not get any older, or reverse aging, which is also in his book.Very intriguing and a must listen to.You can find Mark on LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook.  His book Age-Decoded is at most of the major retailers, Amazon, Apple, Kobo, and Indigo.More about Mark:Mark Ryall recently retired from teaching economics at Royal St. George's College (Toronto) and Hillfield Strathallan College (Hamilton) for a combined twenty-four years. His first love in high school coaching was always cross country running. Mark’s newly released speculative fiction Age-Decoded is his first novel. He wrote it to educate himself and the world about the imminent tsunami of CRISPR genetic engineering technology. The story peers 100-200 years into the future, allowing the reader to critically imagine and feel the effects of this incredible new scientific frontier. Mark represented Canada in the 2019 World Age-Group Triathlon Championships in Lausanne, Switzerland. He enjoys acrylic art and currently serves as a volunteer cross country coach for Westdale Secondary School in Hamilton. His education includes BSc, MBA, and Ph.D. (University of Toronto). We start by asking Dr. Tomi Mitchell what a Board Certified Family Physician is.   She explains she's done over and above the necessary to practice.  Dr. Tomi is certified in two provinces in Canada.  She also explains that you are required to continue with the education yearly, and she has done so for the past ten years.Dr. Tomi went through a near-death experience and shares this story with us.  After giving birth to her second child, her daughter stopped breathing, and Dr. Tomi required resuscitating her and taking her to the hospital.  They told her it was just reflux, however, Dr. Tomi did not take that as an answer.  Eventually, they did put her daughter in ICU.  After doing so, she was relieved, however, she went to the washroom and began hemorrhaging very badly. That was the first of five hemorrhages.  The last one was so painful, and at this point, Dr. Tomi was losing faith.   She said that it was a strange feeling to feel the pain for her toddler, and her feelings for her newborn were different because she hadn't had the chance to truly connect since birth.  Very compelling story. We also spoke to Dr. Tomi's Mental Health and Wellness Coaching business, and how this part of her life is fulfilling, knowing the changes she's making in other people's lives. You can learn more about Dr. Tomi by going to www.holisticwellnessstrategies.comMore about Dr. Tomi Mitchell:Dr. Tomi Mitchell is a Certified Mental Health & Wellness Coach who helps working professionals overcome mental health challenges & burnout.  After a decade of running a medical practice, she was left burnt out and frustrated with the limitations of the traditional health care system. Trina starts off by telling us what a "technologist" is.  She said having worked in technology for the past two decades, she branded herself as such.  She did computer forensics, and cyber-security, and cyber-intelligence prior to it becoming popular.  We chuckled about the old computer programming and coding systems, and the fun of watching the growth and changes in technology.Trina spoke to her books.  She wrote her own and also co-authored.  Her labour of love is called From A Mess to Amazing - Seven steps to create a life you deserve.  In her book, she speaks to her journey through life and how she overcame them.Trina was in technology, as noted earlier, and also is a retired naval officer after thirty years of service.  As the youngest of four children,  she said she grew up with a verbally abusive mother.    She said her words shook her.  On the good side, she became a type-A person, however, she explained that it led her to some abusive relationships.  Although in her business life she was thriving, her personal life was not.   Through her own personal development, she was inspired to write her book.Trina is also an advocate of encouraging women of colour to realize the potential they have to move into the profession of technology, that there is a great opportunity to do so.You can find Trina and her book at www.trinalmartin.com and she is also on LinkedIn.  Her book is also available on Amazon. Cassie explains the difference between being a registered dietician and a nutritionist.  It is someone who has education and credentials in the area of nutrition and is able to provide medical nutritional medicine. The difference is anyone can call themselves a nutritionist, but a registered dietician does have those credentials.Cassie focuses on women 45 and up to deal with emotional eating.Although traditional registered dieticians may start with a medical history, Cassie looks more to the emotional reasons for their issues with food, and with problems of using food to numb or avoid feeling your feelings. She talks about self-talk, choices we make every day, and the circle of feeling good and then afterwards feeling bad.  She says the positive to that circle, or that loop is that there is multiple places to intervene.  The first place to start is why are you eating, and how you can feel those instead. She said the prevailing bad advice is "just don't do it".   Cassie said she struggled herself, and even with all the education she had on the subject, she still had to come to terms with feeling the emotion, and that is not an easy thing to do.  She said you don't just numb the bad feelings, you also numb the good ones too.  She also shares that stress is the biggest emotion that people try to numb, and that "stress" is the "bottom layer of the cheesecake".You can find Cassie at www.cassiechristopher.net.  And if you go to www.cassiechristopher.net/free, you can get a free step by step what it's going to get towards healing, which doesn't have a lot to do with food. We Tell Your Story.  This is what Bill Hobson has helped organizations do.  Particularly ones that are in some degree of distress.Bill says there are "a few decisions in a wrong way".Bill has a firm belief to "not enter into a Ministry knowing better than you".  A beautiful story Bill shares is about his football coach at Carriage Town Ministries.  Walking through the main entranceway his name was called.  Having spent the last 10 years on television he assumed that was why.  When the gentleman told him his name Bill said he was a "shriveled version" of his coach.   He said it was a moment that he realized at that moment that the people in the most need could be family, neighbors, and friends. The way Bill shares about a shelter gives us shivers, in a most inspiring way.  "You Matter" is sometimes all they need to hear to move forward "just because somebody cared".We did a quip about "Little Billy Hobson" and his story about starting off in commercials and how bad they were.   Fun story.  Bill said that "sparked" his path on being a communicator.  And the story of his father offering him his dealership and how his father responded when Bill said no is another great one.  Bill said, "he could have crushed me".  His father didn't.You can find Bill at https://www.hobsonmedia.com and he encourages listeners to go to https://www.bigempactradio.com and https://www.marriagetalk.com, and for sports fans, you can go to https://www.churchpewsports.com.Free Book with any $20+ Podcast Support Make Up Not Required - How to Brand the TRUE You by LaurieAnn & Contribution by Roy MillerBE A GUEST/FIND A GUEST Start for Free! This was a fun Podcast getting to know Annette Smith and why she started her podcast Music Junkies.  LaurieAnn was a guest and also had the opportunity to listen to many of Annette's Podcasts, and they are so entertaining because she asks very interesting questions.  And Annette did say she can make Roy's dream come true to be a guest on a podcast.  Hers. Annette has her own business in the Financial Industry, and her desire was to have a Podcast that was upbeat.  At the onset, when she was searching for people who loved music and asked them to share, she said their stories were quite intense, and already dealing with clients during the day who struggled, she knew this was not the direction she was looking for.So Music Junkies brings many different people with different backgrounds on her show where she says she takes time to pick from the playlist they provide to her, knowing the direction she wants to take her guest.  And Annette is good at that. You feel so comfortable with her you might end up saying something you never knew you wanted to share before.  LOL.A must listen to for great fun and entertainment, and connecting to the guests whose songs, quite often, will also take you back to that one experience that is connected to music.Annette's Podcast can be found by searching Music Junkies Podcast or Music Junkies with Annette Smith.  The direct link on Buzzsprout  is https://musicjunkies.buzzsprout.comMore about Annette:I have been a financial planner for 15 years and own my own business during Covid I started a Music podcast. Dmitria helps people reconnect with their spirit. She says she came from being caught up in all the normal things and having a great transformation.   She was suffering from bad anxiety and realized to solve the problem, she needed to work on herself and rediscover who she was and reconnect to her being and her soul.  She is now helping people do that. From "Corporate America" she had an epiphany that to continue with that, it may cause issues with her husband and children and their relationship. She left her corporate job and then tried to be a "perfect mom".    Very cute story.  This was when her children were in high school!  She then realized she had to stop flipping into another title or role before learning who she truly is "internally".  It is about taking care of yourself to be able to take care of others. We chat about analytical minds versus emotional minds and that you can balance them out.Dmitria speaks about "seeing it all" and making you "feel whole".  Dmitria also said she is a "channel" and truthfully that is for our listeners, many believe this is true, although Dmitria seemed a bit shy about bringing this up.  She should be proud of this.  She is a sweet and wonderful person.  And a beautiful quote is this that she said: "You have been unconsciously knowing you have been building this inside of you."  She said, "detours are essential".   Enlightening conversation. You can find Dmitria at www.luminancehealing.com and on Instagram @luminancehealingHer book is available on Amazon by searching Return To The Light WithinMore about Dmitria:Dmitria is an author and healer that helps people reconnect with their spirit. How do you deal with one day you wake up and you find out your child has left you?  Going out in your backyard to have an evening with your husband and there lies your child.  And forward, they announce what no parent wants to hear.Karen went back to work, immersed herself in it, and she says, drank too much,  then realized it was not the right way.Karen states " Dan is with me.  I actually spend more time with Dan than I do with his two brothers and his sister.   He's guided me the whole way, he's guided me to write my books. Everything that I wasn't doing before, where I was playing small, he's really got me to 'come on Mom, you can do it" and he's constantly around me".Karen says although what she does is Grief Counselling, it's more and different.  There are 40 different types of grief.  Death, divorce, job loss, alienation, COVID separation.  We may not always define some of these as "grief" but they are.  And how do we bounce forward? She speaks to gifting losses. This is a very profound episode and amazing information that Karen shares.Karen also speaks to her child that she adopted out at the age of 16 during the "lockdown".   What an amazing story from start to end.So many more interesting conversations about Freedom of Speech and such.  And the connection with those who have "left" yet are still here with us.Thank you, Karen.  For sharing all your stories. You can reach out to Karen by going to www.karenchaston.comMore about Karen Chaston:Karen ran on the corporate treadmill until the day the world came tumbling down on her head. The constant effort of juggling work, family, the big house and cars, and the stress created by all that was taking its toll on her even before tragedy struck when her son Dan (27), suddenly and very unexpectedly died at her back door in July 2011.Straight after Dan’s funeral, Karen went straight back to her Chief Financial Officer’s role at a Publicly Listed Company, working more, drinking more, and eating more. Using all her coping mechanisms to just carry on and succeed at that level.Karen now knows that Dan’s passing was meant to be her wake-up call. So the Universe decided to show her that death comes in many ways ~ death of a loved one, a marriage, a job, a partnership, a pet, your health, and/or your wealth. Her second death came 15 months later in the form of redundancy when her company merged with another. This was the greatest GIFT.That is when she started on the Journey to Becoming Her Own Best Friend. From there they created the Gift of Loss programs which demonstrate the correlations between loss and people and profits for both individuals and companies. Her motto: “Life is too short to be suffering from any kind of loss, unwrap the gift this has brought and then design a life that you live and love.”Free Book with any $20+ Podcast Support Make Up Not Required - How to Brand the TRUE You by LaurieAnn & Contribution by Roy MillerBE A GUEST/FIND A GUEST Start for Free! Stephen traveled many places, and his favorite place today is Las Vegas, Nevada.  He said although it is known as the "Sin City" he said it's also the "Marriage City".For 39 years Stephen has owned a Computer Software Business and decided he wanted to start writing.  He wanted to write about his travels however he was told that those biographies don't sell and that he had to write women's fiction, which he knew nothing about. He found the joy of writing so he took a stab at it and wrote his first one The Chapel of Eternal Love.  He said it was a challenge that was not meant to be published.  It was however and spawned a sequel.Stephen goes to speak to people in Senior's homes, which he explains that he spoke to the activities director and asked if she would like an author to speak to the residents.  From there he continued to speak to many of them and they now have "meet the local authors"  series, whereby Stephen finds local authors and schedules them to speak.Stephen also shared about different marketing techniques, which are very interesting.Thank you, Stephen, for this interesting and fun podcast! You can reach Stephen at the websites below: www.authorstephenmurray.comwww.thechapelofeternallove.comwww.murderaboardtheqe2.comwww.discreetlyyours.netwww.authorsden.com/stephenmurrayMore about Stephen:Stephen Murray was born in England and raised in different countries throughout Southern Africa.  Upon completion of his education, he returned to England before moving to California in 1976.  Paul starts off our interview by saying "I am very excited to share a positive story."Paul grew up in poverty, and with 20 siblings.  He says that the community helped to support the incredible family.  He says his mom birthed 21 natural children with his father.  One Dad, one Mom.  And he said his mother won more championships than the Chicago Bulls or Los Angeles Lakers. The age range is from 47 to 70.   That's 23 years apart!  When his mother was pregnant with the 14th child they were being evicted from their two-bedroom house because there were too many children.  The next day they were offered an 18 bedroom house for one dollar.  Amazing story. He says his book No Love, No Charity has miracle after miracle after miracle in it.Paul continues to knock on doors to share his positive story, to give them hope, and that their purpose is bigger than their circumstances.Paul says "I don't magnify my circumstances, I magnify my purpose."To learn more about Paul, please visit his website at http://www.paullamarhunter.com.More about Paul:Paul Lamar Hunter was born in Racine, Wisconsin in 1970, the 19th of 21 natural children born to James and Louise Hunter. Though the shelter was meant to be a stabilizing influence for her family and respite for the downtrodden, it was a breeding ground of dysfunction. A determined spirit and unshakeable faith lifted Paul to earn a degree in business administration from Upper Iowa University. Father to four adult children, Paul wrote his autobiography, titled No Love, No Charity: The Success of the 19th Child. The book earned attention by Ebony magazine, and he has appeared on several television shows, including Travis Smiley, Tom Joyner, and “Fox and Friends.” No Love No Charity The Success of The 19th Child by Paul Lamar HunterFree Book with any $20+ Podcast Support Make Up Not Required - How to Brand the TRUE You by LaurieAnn & Contribution by Roy MillerBE A GUEST/FIND A GUEST Start for Free! The first question asked to Stephen was "what is a Pop Up Retail"?Stephen explains they have been around since the beginning of time and were previously known as markets and bazaars.  So they are short-term activities in parks and common areas.  Flea markets would also be considered as Pop-Up Retailing.Stephen explains they have become more sophisticated.Traditionally a Pop-Up Retailer was three to six months.    Now there are companies like Sook that create micro pop-ups, such as three to four hours. The success of modern-day retailing is about integrating technology with the core foundation of retailing which is customer service.  Not just good or okay customer service, you have to wow them.  Stephen also said that 78% of people still want to touch feel and engage with a product before they buy it and 64% will come back and seek out that sales associate for their authenticity and genuineness.Stephen also touches on pop-ups for fundraisers, and also for coaches! You can learn more about this through Stephen by reaching him at www.thepopupexpert.comMore about Stephen:For over 35 years Stephen Brooks has been immersed in all things retail. His career has taken him to 57 different countries, working with retailers, landlords, e-commerce, and retail affiliated businesses big and small. Great conversation with Paul.  He explains there were few voices of Dads.  In a complementary way to Moms.  His podcast led him to learn more.  The dads he interviews on his GreatDad.com are experts on specific issues.  He supported the roles of involved parenting.  Paul grew up in a single mom parenting and was inspired to be involved.  He explains that Pregnancy Parenting involves the "involved parenting" aspect. This subject is so all-encompassing.  And truly one that we could talk about for hours! As Paul says the younger generation seems more implicated in the pregnancy.  They are not as likely to be less empathetic and are more involved than the older generation.Paul started later in life.  He has two children and he was 38 when he had his first.  We spoke about how being older and having children does change perspective, and how, to Paul, it was important that he was present, and he even left his job to make that happen.  Paul said that he has been thinking a lot lately about the fact there is nobody else that will love your children in that same way that anybody else will.  (We agree).  Not their spouse, not their friends, and the responsibility to "not tell them lies" but to keep loving them and have patience with them and advise them in the most loving way.You can find Paul at www.greatdad.com and www.pregnancymagazine.comMore about Paul Banas:Paul Banas is the publisher of GreatDad.com and Pregnancy Magazine and its website PregnancyMagazine.com. After a career in advertising and international marketing at companies including Ogilvy & Mather, Unilever, Visa, and Yahoo, he quit his corporate job to stay at home with his small daughter and infant son. This experience led him to develop GreatDad.com, at the time one of the very few parenting resources specifically for fathers. After training at the Co-Active Training Institute (CTI) and Positive Intelligence, he also coaches dads and entrepreneurs. Paul firmly believes in the importance of involved parenting to create a new generation of happier and more empathetic children. Paul has lived in France at three different stages of his life as a student and as an executive. He and his family spend one month per year in Paris.Free Book with any $20+ Podcast Support Make Up Not Required - How to Brand the TRUE You by LaurieAnn & Contribution by Roy MillerBE A GUEST/FIND A GUEST Start for Free! We always love having Comedians on our show because we love to laugh. We ask about what kind of comedy Anthony does.   You have to listen to learn about that.  He does love all kinds of comedy!  We spoke about making fun of people and they enjoy it, and others take offence, and he does love George Carlin.   He called him a philosopher that dabbled in comedy.Anthony feels that comedy is being watered down and that there is nothing really new.So we asked - are you going to get all your friends that are funny and going out on the road as a group?  And he's thinking about it!  So be ready! :)What would be your theme?  Asked that, Anthony said it was a great question he didn't know how to answer.   He said they were all Republican Attention Whores.  LOL  So to soften the group name Roy comes up with "The Male Bonding Tour".    Sounds perfect.  Even if Roy thought LaurieAnn wouldn't be in approval? Sure.  Just don't diss the "ladies". :)And can a comedian be "sued" because of defamation of character?  LaurieAnn was told not to bring that up.   In case lawyers listen to this.  LOL.  However, apparently in Comedy, free speech still exists.  Or you are just censored. :)Is freedom of speech really still there?  Even Social Media stops it sometimes.  What are your thoughts? And Anthony is chasing Roy's wisdom. :)  What a wonderful guest. This was fun.  You can find Anthony by Googling him at Anthony Rogers or The Anthony Rogers Show. And here is his Podcast link.  The Anthony Rogers ShowFree Book with any $20+ Podcast Support Make Up Not Required - How to Brand the TRUE You by LaurieAnn & Contribution by Roy MillerBE A GUEST/FIND A GUEST Start for Free! Sam has a tagline, "Everyone's life is an autobiography.  Make your's worth the reading."  Sam says we are all living stories, and the tagline captures the essence of the chapters of our lives.Sam says there are five things that guide and direct him in life.    "Service leadership, story sharing, activator ignitor, champion enabler, and community do-gooder."  He says that those five things have enabled him to "capture the essence of who this person is, as opposed to what he does."He explains "community activator" is about helping non-profits to become entrepreneurs so they are not relying on grants and donations.Sam worked on helping non-profits think differently, in a way to increase their ROI.He said obstacles are the necessary bricks on a road to success.  He said they have really helped make him who he is today and he embraces them.He makes sure he interacts with his audience, not being that person up on stage looking down to the audience.  Instead, he goes into the audience and connects.Sam touched on COVID and he said we all need to CARE, which he says are Care, Adaptability, Resilience, and Empathy.Sam is an author and wrote a book on how to build stories, and his second book is about finding himself called "Lost and Found, Seeking the past and finding myself."  He went back to India with a faded picture to find the history of his family. You can find the books on his website, and link below, or to the right of this website page.Lost & Found Seeking the past, and finding myself - by Sam ThiaraFree Book with any $20+ Podcast Support Make Up Not Required - How to Brand the TRUE You by LaurieAnn & Contribution by Roy MillerBE A GUEST/FIND A GUEST Start for Free! What is Centered Prayer? We had a great conversation with Rich Lewis who explained this.Rich wrote a book called Sitting with God.  He says the book focuses on centering prayer and how it transformed him.Having never heard of Centering Prayer, we asked if Rich could describe this to us.  He speaks to this, and it is interesting how he states that before a "sit" you have a sacred word.  And this brings you back to focus in the present moment to let go of all the other "clatter" in your life.Rich shares about vulnerability, of crying through a sit, or letting go.  In a world where crying is still not fully acceptable, primarily in men, it was a nice sharing moment.Rich said his main clients are brand new to Centered Prayer and need someone to keep them accountable. and then someone who has already been doing something, but wants to connect further, and then the third is Pastors and Ministers.  To this, we did discuss the heavy weight Pastors and Ministers hold and about suffering from "burnout".You can find Rich's book at www.SilenceTeaches.com. More about Rich:Rich Lewis is an author, speaker and coach who focuses on centering prayer as a means of inner transformation. He teaches centering prayer in both his local and virtual community and offers one-on-one coaching. Something not many people know.  That Chris is going to be on the cover of People Magazine as the Sexiest Man in 2022.  :)  Okay, maybe not confirmed yet, however, when you write something down, it's more likely to happen, people say.  Chris joked about it during our pre-ramble and I, LaurieAnn, while introducing him just had to say it.  Why not?  He just may be!Chris is fun, and he shares information about his book Beacons of Leadership.  I, LaurieAnn, have been a fan of Chris Voss for over 10 years.  I used to take stocks in him.  Literally, on a fun website called Empire.  He helped my stocks in that game go up, staying in the top 2 for months. With this insight, he was asked about the Stock Market, which was why he enjoyed that site. That is just one of the stories we found out about him.  He went on to share that with failures come successes.   A bit about growing up and how we learn from our parents and hard work and his first job at McDonald's.A great and fun episode. You can find out more about Chris and his book at  BeaconsOfLeadership.comMore about Chris:CEO/Host of The Chris Voss Show & CV Podcast Network, Consultant, Speaker, Youtuber, Numerous Awards: Forbes Top 50, etc, Audience 300,000 on Social Media. 30+ Year Serial Entrepreneur. Gloria is smiling.   However, there was a time when she lived a life of thinking that love was everything and no matter what you should keep going.  And then she realized that, although it took a few years, even after seeing red flags. that this was not the life she wanted to live.Gloria lived with a narcissist.  Like many, as she speaks about, she felt that love could conquer all.   She became more aware, however, of the "gaslighting" and then experiencing anxiety, and becoming overwhelmed with her OCD.  Gloria does explain what "gaslighting" means in this Podcast for those who may not be familiar with the term. It's easy to blame everything else in your life, and not want to see what is the truth.  The feeling of being dismissed, of being verbally abused, and some are even physically abused, and remain in these relationships because they are questioning themselves.  They are stuck thinking that it is "my fault" because you "genuinely love the other person".Gloria wants to focus on the "victim" (in order for them to become victorious), rather than the narcissist, and that makes sense!Gloria explains that this "relationship" is not always just with your "partner".  It exists in a relationship with parents, with siblings.Gloria can be reached on Instagram @gloriabattini and at www.gloriabattini.com.  She says to please reach out and she runs a small membership for survivors of narcissistic abuse.  They meet once a month and also Gloria has an uploaded module for this membership.More about Gloria:"I am a Self-Love & Emotional Wellness Coach. My purpose is to help women who are coming out of unhealthy and manipulative relationships get back on their feet and let go of those relationships for good. I help them regain confidence, learn to put themselves first and become free of their chains and limitations so that they can live a happy and fulfilled life, be of example to our future leaders and be the catalyst for a better humanity. It was a cold Thursday in January a few years ago and I had just packed my bags and walked out of a 14-year-old manipulative relationship.I had accomplished so much in the previous 18 months of self-development and inner work, I felt strong, empowered and free.I noticed that the way I was putting myself out there had changed, my relationships with my friends, family, coworkers and even strangers was different as a result of my transformation.I couldn't help but thinking "What if all women could experience this? What would be the knock-on effect of this collective transformation?"Today I see the women I work with make life-changing decisions that they wouldn't have dreamed of at the start of their journey. I see them show up for themselves and transform the way they face the world. I see their relationships getting better, I see their kids being inspired by their mums, I see women coming out of their shell and creating a different world for themselves and others. You might not notice the magnitude of this, but from my seat looking at all of you together, man, we're shaping a different world.Support the show (https://paypal.me/iamthatgal)

Reading.  You can love it, or hate it.  Or learn to love it.Danny Brassell quips about being "Jim Carey with a Ph.D." and too that he didn't like to read as a child and today he is a Reading Ambassador.  He said his Dad was a librarian, and you need to listen to hear his great definition of what he thought a library was to him.In time he realized how blessed he was having the tools around him to be able to help others to find a passion to read.He shares that reading doesn't have to be what education "tells" you to read, that there are a lot of definitions of reading.  He says he believes there is no illiteracy, there are just different degrees of literacy.  "The bigger problem out there is what I call a-literacy, which means you choose not to read," he says.  Those are times when as a child you label yourself as perhaps, not being able to read, and hence choose not to.  Danny explains that it's not what you read, what matters is how much you read.  He says he has never met an effective leader that is not an avid reader and shares that audiobooks count too.So much information that is inspiring about the value of reading, and broadening the choices of what to read such as; read about what you love, what you can connect with.A truly wonderful "story" about how to learn to love to read.  Danny is fun, informative, and inspiring.  A great teacher and author to inspire reading.Ebooks or physical books?  Another fun story about that choice. You can connect with Danny at www.freereadingtraining.com  where you can get a complimentary copy of  "Lead, Read, and Succeed" and there are resources for parents to share with their children, to make sure they don't feel intimidated by reading, even if they are struggling.  Instead, it will excite people to read.More about Dr. Danny Brassell - and we love how sweet and short he made his bio, yet there is so much more to him :):A highly-sought-after speaker, trainer, and coach known as “Jim Carrey with a Ph.D.,”Dr. Danny Brassell has spoken to over 3,500 audiences worldwide and authored 16books, including his latest, Leadership Begins with Motivation. Emma-Jane brings awareness to a very important subject:  Child Sex Abuse AwarenessAlthough a touchy subject, Emma-Jane, having been a victim of child sex abuse, at 44 she realized it was something she needed to share and now is actively working to bring more awareness.Emma-Jane said in the seventies, it was silenced.  She shares that it took years to heal.  It is not something that is not healed with "just a pill".   Along with sharing her story, and writing her second book, she is launching a charity for Child Sex Abuse called 90/10, to help children to live their lives as children. In Emma-Jane's research, she is also interviewing child sex offenders to learn more.  She is also doing 12 challenges over the next 12 months.  She shares with us what those are.She said, "I decided to go all-in" to make a difference. We discussed that victims can often "feel alone", and there can be a feeling of shame that goes along with the experience, which then keeps them from reaching out for help. What a wonderful initiative.  As Emma-Jane explains, it's not a subject we want to hear about.  From the two year old that was trafficked out by her mother, to why her mother was a junky, what upbringing causes this?  And the upbringing of the offender?   She is really reaching deep into finding out more about learned behavior and how can we educate, help and direct them to stop this.  Educating early about relationships, and helping them to open up in having "the difficult conversations".This is a very compelling Podcast.   Thank you Emma-Jane.You can find out more about Emma-Jane, and reach out to her at www.emmajanetaylor.lifeMore about Emma-Jane:Emma-Jane is an activist focused on reducing child sex abuse. She is the voice for many hearts across the world.  What is Public Relations?  We had a great conversation with Kimberley, who answered that question.Kimberley and I (LaurieAnn) met on Instagram.  I was interested in what she was doing, because being a writer, and having a passion for it, I was intrigued by someone who was working towards building her business in Public Relations and also from my Town.Kimberley shares that she was laid off from her job as  Public Relations Specialist for an Agricultural company.  As COVID hit, she decided to start out on her own.  It was an impressive tactic, not because of taking advantage of the time allotted due to COVID, as many out there have done; it is because she knew her niche going into her new venture.  This is something most new entrepreneurs struggle with or are not even aware of the importance of.  Starting the business was not about offering her business expertise to just anyone.  She is focussing on the agricultural community because that is what she knows best.  And she knows it well.Kimberley does emphasize that she is absolutely capable of providing her service in any industry, knowing her talent for writing, and relationship building, and learning about her clients to tell "their story", however, her passion is in agriculture.  She also states that having lived in several countries brings even more credibility to her knowledge in this field. We had a bit of fun speaking to the pride of having the longest Mayor in office in Canada in Milton, Ontario, and the value of being involved with the Milton Chamber of Commerce and other networking organizations to help build the connections. You can reach Kimberley by visiting her site https://www.kimcoylecontent.comMore about Kimberley:"For as long as I can remember, I have been passionate about communications and storytelling. It was evident that my future should focus on spreading awareness of people’s stories and their positive messages.Since receiving my Public Relations diploma from Conestoga College, I have worked in public relations/communications departments, primarily in the agricultural sector. It was there that I was fortunate to hone my skills and tell the stories of the hardworking individuals throughout the supply chain who ensure our food safely reaches our plates.  After accumulating 10+ years of experience in this sector (8 of those being at Ontario Pork), I branched out in 2019 to begin a freelance communications career. It was rewarding to diversify my skills to write for food production companies and the audio-visual industry, as well as present in schools. In July 2020, I decided to take the leap and launch my own business Kim Coyle Content Creation.I believe it is important to never stop learning and I continue to expand my knowledge through workshops, webinars, and courses. I was a member of the Eastern Canadian Farm Writers Federation for 11 years and was on their Board of Directors from 2015-2017." Sammi shares how her journey in founding the Intuition Alchemy came from deep deep heartbreak and a deep understanding of what it means to not listen to your intuition.  She said the program helps to recognize intuition as our innate superpower.   She worked with an Indigenous Native American Elder Ron Interpreter, and they created a four-week program of the intuitive process.Sammi says she is now launching a three-month program to help people come to a sense of depletion to come to recognize their own truth, to integrate everything, and take action.Sammi shared that her heartbreak came from ignoring her intuition and dating a guy, and realizing that her intuition had been correct.  She used to work in music festivals and events and wanted to move to Nevada City.  In the midst of that is when she met the guy, and said it was one of the hardest relationships she had ever been in.  She did say that the relationship taught her what it was like to step over her intuition.  She said she had to lose herself to find herself. She is now committed to helping others. You can find Sammi on Instagram @light.eyes and on Facebook at Sammi Kate or by email at weavingwriters@gmail.com.More about Sammi:"I am currently hosting + offering a program called Intuition Alchemy alongside a Native American Navajo elder, Ron Interpreter. Elzie said his background in music helped with learning about podcasting.  He had the skills for technology and marketing which were transferrable.  He did say what he didn't anticipate was the speed of growth of podcasting.Elzie has two podcasts.  Enterprise Now was the show that started as a radio show, then became a podcast.  He said he retired it for a while and now has revived it.  It is for business owners and entrepreneurs.  Podcast Town Throwdown is about growth in podcasting.  He said that he pokes fun at his guests and his guests poke fun at him in the latter one. When asked about his entrepreneurial background, we found out that Elzie is quite diverse!  He said he was a janitor, cleaned the bottom of barges, pulled carpets out of hotels, worked in fast food, worked in engineering before he started and then he owned a music label, a minor league basketball team, a podcasting agency.  He says his bio says "Don't put me in a box."  He jokes about how he can clean your bathroom and design you a control system.  :)Asked about his success he attributes it to being crazy enough to believe he can do it.You can find Elzie at https://www.elzieflenard.com and https://www.podcasttown.netMore about Elzie:Podcast Town founder, Elzie Flenard (The MAYOR ) started Podcast Town to help folks find their “voice” among the noise. Bryan Clayton started his landscaping experience at a young age when in High School as a way of making extra cash.  This was propelled by his father who told him to get off his butt, that he had a gig for him.  From there, Bryan started his own landscaping business, passed out flyers, and over 15 years grew it into one of the largest landscaping companies in Tennessee.    He ended up selling it in 2013 to one of the biggest landscaping companies in the United States. That business helped him apply much of his knowledge of building a company to his new venture. He says Greenpal is like the "Uber" for lawn mowing.  You just have to use the app to connect to someone who can mow your lawn.  They started off really small and now have thousands of people using the app.  This company, however, was more of a tech-venture.  It is very interesting to hear how he went through the learning curves to succeed, particularly since he said he was not a techy kind of guy.Intriguing idea and interesting stats in regards to the landscaping industry.   What is really interesting about Bryan's app is that for those who want to start a company, this is a way to do so through his app and not have to advertise.  How amazing!  All it takes is dedication and great customer service, and the Greenpal app helps small landscaping entrepreneurs build.  Great story about a young lady with one lawnmower who just started with them. And how do they get paid?  Listen to find out!!We know you will enjoy this Podcast. You can find Bryan at @bryanmclayton on Instagram, and if in the United States you can sign up for GreenPal at www.yourgreenpal.comMore about Bryan and what is nice about this extension of "more about", unlike other guests, we are sharing what he wrote to us reaching out to us.  We appreciate your kind words, Bryan!!"You've got a new fan of the LIFT Your Story Podcast. Sarah has created a very interesting "brand" with her books and Podcast.  The "preneur series" came about from her first book entitled the "Frugalpreneur".  From there she started her Podcast by same name, and wrote two more books entitled "authorpreneur" and another "podcastpreneur".As Sarah learns something she writes about it.  Which is amazing because the people who read her books know that Sarah has walked the walk. From photographer, she moved into online businesses.  She has an amazing background on how many she has started.  Her latest success was in the Travel Industry which, as we know, had a hit with COVID.  However, she didn't give up and now she is thriving in her business which she has a passion for. This is a must listen to for anyone who is working towards a career online.  Sarah shares many gold nuggets!  And Sarah, although she did try many online businesses in her past, she was FRUGAL, unlike many of us who spent thousands hoping for that return on investment and never got it.Sarah is kind enough to give her pdf versions of her books for free at https://thesarahstjohn.com/free or you can get a hardcopy on Amazon. You can reach Sarah at  https://thesarahstjohn.com More about Sarah:I am an entrepreneur, podcaster, author, animal lover, and world traveler. This is not the De Vincze code.  This is about online gambling.  :)What an interesting time we had chatting with Šimon.  (Note enunciation is "Shee-mo-ne")We were intrigued by the gambling industry, however before our notes move forward, even more intrigued that "Simon" let people speak his name in the North American style, and now is going back to his roots of how it should be enunciated, which is opposite of many of our guests!Moving forward, Šimon opened our eyes to information we did not have much knowledge of as non-gamblers, however interesting sharing of regulations regarding online gambling. We are sure you will find this fascinating. You can find out more about Šimon's business at https://casino.guru/More about Šimon:We at Casino Guru approach gambling from global perspective. Our responsible gambling projects are unique in essence as they are looking at online casinos from bigger picture. This applies for self-exclusion in particular. Most people are familiar with the notion, but very few realize how tricky player’s journey can be when trying to exclude from accessible online gambling sites. Being able to connect to casinos from around the world sets significant challenges to be overcome for single jurisdiction self-exclusion possibilities. Global Self-exclusion initiative project is addressing these issues and trying to solve them. The initial part of the project is about opening discussions on the subject which can enrich podcast listeners and make them think. Casino Guru Academy is another project with global perspective with goal to increase standards for supporting online casino players. Project aims to also bring fairness to casino’s customer approach. Most people are not aware about predatory rules and other unfair treatment that unreliable casinos are trying to “justifiably” rob their players. Academy project is trying to fight this from global position as well. Joey shares a beautiful story of going from victim to victorious, in an interactive and even implementing humor! His childhood changed him, and he made a promise to break a chain.  And he did.Inspiring story of someone who "grew up" in one sense, and learned about the beauty of being "present" for his children and finding a child-like fascination when he took the time to not only be present for his children, but for his love of his life and himself too.You can learn more about Joey and get his book "Joey Somebody:  The Life And Times of A Recovery Douche Bag" at https://www.joeydumont.com/joeysomebodyMore about Joey:My name is Joey, and I am a recovering douchebag.  I've lived an amazing life. I've traveled the world on someone else's dime, enjoyed a college-degree-level career without a degree, and became one of many peacocking urban males populating major coastal cities, fancy office buildings, convention centers, hotel lobbies, bars, and restaurants. Oh, yes. I was as pathetic as you're probably imagining.I was deploying fashion, discourse, athletics, and other personas to manage a public appearance of physicality, status, expertise, and productivity.  After all, when a man looks good and speaks well, little else matters, right?  I became adept at avoiding accountability and hard labor and was quickly seated at society's table by acting as a light source of optimism, a form of entertainment, a visual, an acoustic, a conversation piece...a storyteller.  I was living the life everyone coveted, and I knew it. I was even jealous of me at times. However, within every insecure and arrogant male resides a scared little boy demanding attention. And If I was ever going to experience the true fullness of life, a shift was needed. My pretentious parade would have to end. You see, I managed to marry a woman who saw beyond my façade and was the catalyst to my recovery. When we started a family, she had no intention of raising our two boys alongside another little boy. I had no choice but to retool. It was time to grow up, sit on a therapist's couch for eight years, and evolve for my family. I finally dared to deal with my chronic anxiety, episodic depression, and other neuroses I was too ashamed to admit. And then...I wrote about it. Introducing Trav, or Travis, Bell.  At the time of our podcast he did state that he was from the future.  Yes, that is right.  Because his time zone put him into our tomorrow.Truly a please to chat with Travis about his book and about the bucket list.  One take away is that you don't have to travel to have one.Funny, engaging, and full of information about more than just one bucket list.  You will truly enjoy what he shares. For more information and to purchase his book, go to https://www.thebucketlistguy.com.More about Travis:Someone first called me The Bucket List Guy about eight years ago. It was because of all the crazy and interesting things I’d done in my life up until then.See, from the age of eighteen – well before Bucket Lists were a ‘thing’ – I’ve written a ‘To Do Before I Die List’. Today, as a forty (something) year-old guy, thanks to The Bucket List movie and the popularity of the concept, they certainly are now. It’s a heavily hashtagged and tweeted global phenomenon. My Bucket List is my reason why I attack life. It’s always been my compass, my motivation. It continues to give me purpose and bring meaning into my life. Ignorantly, I thought everyone had a written list like me… apparently not.But it’s more than just being about me and my list. I’ve dedicated my life to helping others wake up and live theirs before it’s too late.It stretches beyond a simple list. It’s a philosophy for life founded on current positive psychology principles. I’m proud to say that our global tribe of Bucket Listers live with more purpose, meaning and fulfilment.I continue to spread this idea via my Keynote Speaking, my Podcast, my Blog, and I’ve ticked ‘Do A TEDx Talk’ off my Bucket List too!My vision? To create a purposely fulfilled world. My mission? To help 10 million people lead purposely fulfilled lives. Big call, I know! But with the help of my global network of Certified Bucket List Coaches we are focused and on track.Knowing that there are many more lives to positively impact gets us out of bed in the morning. What a fun time with had with Mss Francois.  Stomach hurting laughter. Patrice explains that her Mss stands for Multi-Talented and Super Sexy. :)Mss Francois shared her humor and spoke about her show that is about relationships.  Mss Francois says every relationship is dysfunctional in some way.  She also explained that people are too quick to break the vows. What would you do if you had an option to exit every 7 years?  Yes, that was brought up too, which was interesting.  Roy, being married 50 years, explains marriage is like a job.  You have to work at it, to which Mss Francois did explain about the Disney Syndrome.  Disney never spoke to what "happily ever after" was.Mss Francois spoke to infidelity, and that if you can't forgive it and get past it it's not worth staying.  However, if you can, it's worth it as well.  It's all about the person.Roy brought up trust, communication, and being open with a respect for the spouse's belongings (like his wife's purse) :), which is why his marriage lasted.  Mss Francois then asked if he had available sons. LOLIf you want to laugh hearing about relationships, this is a must listen to!!Mss Francois' book  Let That @#$%&! When nothing else works, go to Dr. Roseann. Many parents are often at a loss when their children have emotional or learning issues. They do not know how to find the best solution for their problems. Many parents think their child has ADD or ADHD. Quite often, this is not the issue. If your child has a mental health condition, and you think they are possessed, or crazy, and don’t know if you should call a priest or an ambulance, you should question it.Most children with learning disabilities, tend to be leaders, creative thinkers, and out of the box thinkers. Unfortunately, the parents of today, are “bubble wrap parents.” Their children have no frustration tolerance and poor coping skills.PANS / PANDA causes toxic triggers that causes the body to attack itself, and cause children to have trouble learning. Dr. Roseann uses the “QEG Brain Map” to get to the root of the problem.Roseann provides so much information that is not out there readily. It was truly interesting to learn about the difference between ADHD and ADD, however even more so PANS and PANDAS.You can reach out to Roseann at:YouTubehttps://www.youtube.com/DrRoseannFacebook:https://www.facebook.com/DrRoseannCapannaHodge/ Instagram https://www.instagram.com/drroseann/More about Roseann:Dr. Roseann is a mental health trailblazer, founder of The Global Institute of Children’s Mental Health and Dr. Roseann, LLC who is, “Changing the way we view and treat children’s mental health”.  FORBES magazine called her, “A thought leader in children’s mental health”.
