Unsung Heroes: Bezalel and Oholiab

By New Hope UMC

This Sunday, July 15, we will begin a new sermon series on "Unsung Heroes of God's Word." The Bible is filled with people called by God to use their gifts to serve Him and make a profound difference for God's people, but not all of them are names we hear about all that much. Over the next four weeks, we will look at people in the background of the Bible- people who never get much attention and very few headlines. Some you will never have heard of before at all. Bezalel and Oholiab, for example, are incredibly important men, who were called, empowered, and equipped to lead the construction of the Tabernacle- the place of worship for the ancient Israelites as they made their way to the Promised land- and everything associated with it. Read some of their story in Exodus 31:1-11 ( In "Unsung Heroes: Bezalel and Oholiab" we'll discover some important things about God's unique call in our lives. Pray for those who may not be loud and up front, but also have incredible skills and gifts to share with the Body of Christ. Pray for people to better discern the ways the Holy Spirit makes a home in us and calls us to serve others in gift-based ministry. Pray for our guests to see Jesus, the crucified and resurrected Lord, at work in their lives.
