Bringing Yoga & Mindfulness to a Community Near You: A conversation with Good Elephant Founder, Allie Reitz-Ep 33
By Justin Hertz
Today, we welcome to the show Allison Reitz. Allie was born in the mid-west (Illinois) where she later studied Sound Design and Fine Arts at the Institute of Savanah College of Art Design before moving to the biggest little city back in 2016. Upon arriving in Reno, Allie was quick to make her mark and build a network of strong, like-minded woman entrepreneurs as she immediately got involved in our community by joining the board for The Midtown District where she acts as an advisor to business and the community of Midtown Reno. Since then, and perhaps more impressively, Allies’ incredible drive and passion led her to start a business in Reno Called The Good Elephant Company which fosters a community of yoga instructors, local businesses, spaces and studios who believe in making yoga and meditation classes affordable and accessible for everyone. In our show today, you will hear how Allie has navigated between the challenges of running a startup in Reno as well as her goals to help people by making yoga and mindfulness cheap and ubiquitous. The Good Elephant Company is just starting to make it mark in Reno and Allie cant wait to share some of the amazing things that are happening with her company and in the community. Although this is just the beginning for Allie and The Good Elephant Company, Allie has high aspiration and hopes to one day make the world a better place by making mindfulness and healthy practices like Yoga available in awesome and unique locations for everyone—no matter what your skill level might be. Allie is a passionate and vibrate person who loves to help and inspire others and I can promise you, you will see that after listening to this episode.
