Campus Culture 101

By Teresa Rodriguez

This year, 4 university fraternity pledges have died after initiation events and parties. Are the days of college fraternities and sororities over? Following the November death of Florida State University student and fraternity pledge, Andrew Coffey, University President John Thrasher declared an interim suspension of all Greek Life activities on campus. “I want to send a strong message that we have a problem and we have to deal with it,” said President Thrasher. But, fraternities and sororities can also play a positive role in campus social life. On this episode of Stories Beyond the Headlines, Teresa welcomes Laurence Bolotin, Executive Director of Zeta Beta Tau, or ZBT, the world’s first Jewish fraternity. And a Chi Omega Sorority sister who wishes to remain anonymous, while taking you inside the sorority life. Links:www.zbt.org Podcasts would like to thank our guests Laurence Bolotin, Executive Director, ZBT and the Chi Omega Sorority sister who remained anonymous.Host: Teresa RodríguezShowrunner: Carmen LucasEditor: Cesar HaliwaClick below to Subscribe on:Apple Podcasts: Play Music: Radio App:
