#4 - Craig Cannon: Director of Marketing at Y Combinator

By David Freiburger

Airbnb, Twitch, Reddit, Coinbase, Dropbox……..and a ton of other companies all went through Y Combinator. Y Combinator is the most or one the most well-known accelerators in the world.    Accelerator programs usually have a set timeframe in which individual companies spend anywhere from a few weeks to a few months working with a group of mentors to build out their business and avoid problems along the way. Tons of companies apply to get into Y Combinator and if you get selected you go through an interview process before you’re officially selected to join the program. Once your company is selected then you receive seed money, advice, and connections in exchange for 7% equity of your company. After the program is up, you present your company to over 450 investors on this thing called Demo Day. It’s pretty awesome and if you want to learn more you can check out Y Combinators website @    Craig Cannon is the Director of Marketing at Y Combinator. He’s a super cool dude and he hosts the Y combinator podcast that you should definitely check out as well.
