The Color of Law

Richard Rothstein, the author of The Color of the Law, joins Carrie and Allison for this week’s episode. Richard shares his impressive background, what made him want to write The Color of Law, and how he stumbled upon segregation in housing and decided to research that. Rothstein discusses the government’s long history and role in regards to overt housing segregation, why it’s been forgotten, the Fair Housing Act of 1968, what the social justice movement during the summer of 2020 means, and the role REALTORS play in housing segregation. He also provides hope as to how we can change housing segregation and end discrimination for all.
