Daily Devotion - Episode 17 - Not Ashamed of the Gospel
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” (Romans 1:16, ESV)Have you ever been in a situation when God has blessed you with the privilege to tell others about Him? As Christians we have been commanded to tell people about Jesus Christ and the message that we are telling is called the Gospel (literally “good news”). Quite literally, we were told to go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19). Does the thought of sharing this good news with strangers make you nervous? Do you get nervous to share about the faith that God has gifted to you?The Gospel Must Transform You Before You Have the Confidence to Share ItBefore the Gospel message can be shared without nervousness, anxiety, or shame, one must first be transformed by the Gospel. The Gospel is the power of God to everyone who believes. It may be difficult for you to share the message of the gospel if you have yet to believe the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation. In order to have confidence in evangelism, you must be born again. The Gospel Message Possesses Salvation Power for Those Who BelieveWe can have confidence in Evangelism because the Gospel message has power. The Gospel is power for all those who believe. Our calling is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, not save people. We can have confidence in our evangelism because the gospel message is powerful. We can have confidence in our evangelism because the gospel is the message that Christ has commissioned the church to share. May we make much of Jesus as he empowers us to share about him.
