After taking a break for a few years from actively playing out with her own music, Gerhardt returned under her own name exploring depth, vulnerability, and intentionality in relationships with the release of her 5-song EP "Be My Hands" (June 2019). Her other singles include a cover of Joan Armatrading's "The Weakness In Me" (Apr 2019), "Morning Moon" (Nov 2019), "Keep It Simple" (Mar 2020), "Gillian" (May 2020), and most recently "All Will Be Well" (Nov 2020).
Gerhardt was raised by a Catholic mother and Jewish father and remembers celebrating both Christmas and Hanukkah as a kid. In college, Catholic Christianity became a significant part of her faith identity, and her spirituality finds its way into much of her songwriting, without hitting anyone over the head with it. She seeks to serve as a bridge to theists and atheists alike, pointing to hope and the Transcendent by using music to convey her experiences of truth, goodness, and beauty.
