Although they mostly play acoustic, you can hear Faelwa has got roots in metal music. This can be heard in the song structures and in some arrangements. The members also share a big sympathy for folk music, which is often audible in the melodies.
Jasper Strik and Mark Kwint wrote music together at the time they played in the same band. After a while, they realized they were thinking in a different direction, so they decided to go their own way.
When parting with this band they also put aside the electric guitars and keyboards. As they share much love for nature, they choose for a nature-romantic approach when writing new music.
Except for the drums, Faelwa is doing everything by themselves. Arjan Hoekstra (Mirna's Fling, The Good Hand, Riders of the Universe) helped them out with the drums on ‘Farewell Sun’. Jasper also takes responsibility for the recording and producing.
