While learning how to produce I found that I didn’t like the sharp equalization used by many of the producers in the music industry. I wanted to be able to blast my music really loud without hurting my ears, suitable for clubs and concerts. So I began to lower the frequencies between 1,2kHz and 8kHz, subtly on vocals and more intensively on sharp instruments. The result was a soft and smooth sound even on loud volume. This method defies the industry standard, but trusting my ears I couldn’t think of doing it any other way.
Many of my songs have a love theme. It’s what I’ve naturally found myself writing about and thinking about when it comes to music. But I wanted to say at least something truly meaningful with this album. So I wrote ”Make Your Mark”, a song about being human in a world full of inhuman people. I hope it might give a little comfort to those who have suffered in life, those who shouldn’t have.
