"Long Haul" Paul Marhoefer was discovered in the back of an Alabama garage at the age of 55 by Muscle Shoals session legend and producer ,Travis Wammack, who would come to dub the grizzled trucker " a modern day Bob Dylan." A recording collaboration ensued between Wammack and Marhoefer, resulting in the album "Old Black Epiphone",which gained acclaim from long time Muscle Shoals music writer Bill Jarningan as "One of the best folk albums I have heard in a long time".
A record deal followed with long time truck stop label Laughing Hyena Records, yielding a synopsis of the singer's best work up to that point, entitled "Bessemer to Birmingham ", a blend of polished studio tracks, as well as gritty , confessional ballads depicting a hard life on the road, with characters who make bad choices , and find themselves in various stages of remorse , redemption , decrepitude.
Long Haul Paul , still a full time trucker, resides in rural Indiana with his wife of of 38 years, Denise.
