Ideally, so well written an argument that one could do without even listening to the music it refers to.
A poetic to exotic vocabulary, a deceiving syntax, and a ludicrous list of obscure references would be the necessary means.
One simpler way would be to say it's pop music. Indie Pop ? The 60's british kind ? Modern American psyche revival ? Snooty French pop ?
Name dropping : Brian Wilson ? John Lennon ? Big Star ? Or maybe The Flaming Lips ? Tame Impala ? Air ? ...no ?
Bored already ? Maybe. A story ? Mr Thibauld Labey writes songs and has been, for a long time now, aloof but still spot on according to many. In between pure joy and despair, childish naiveté and sour cynicism, the man lugs a melancholy that lightens to the colors of his encounters since A*Song (and their three albums)...up to Trumpets of Consciousness, today, with Thomas Chignier, Quentin Martinod, Sly Apollinaire, Noé Macary and Mathieu Larue.
Since releasing their first and eponymous LP in 2016 (Le Pop Club Records / Echo Orange) the band has been up on stage, toured in Quebec and Canada and sold all their vinyl. So here it is, another LP. It's called Approximate. It will be out in april 2019 with, again, a cover design by painter David Sala.
