Self described as a "mixed-race misfit" & a "supergeek" aka "too broke to smoke" aka "the 6th man on the moon" aka "Louis Oblongata" aka 1/2 of group OthaSoul, Louis VI was born & raised in London by his single mum after a brief interlude of living outside Paris before his parents split as a baby (his Father being from Dominica & France).
His mum introduced him to hip hop through De La Soul & A Tribe Called Quest at an early age, making him listen to Gil Scott-Heron. Writing lyrics was an escape, and he was soon stealing blank school books to store all his bars, and learnt to produce after faking an ID at the young age of 14 to get into a free 18+ summer course.
He taught himself to play a range of instruments which influenced his rapping technique and production style. After going through depression, he purposefully changed his approach to be brutally honest with his music and not shying away from pain or vulnerability he'd been through. He released is first EP outside OthaSoul in 2016 called Lonely Road of The Dreamer which featured Denai Moore, and enjoyed large organic success, &amp; praise for its "primal introspective glory" - <b>Saint Heron, </b> masterful lyricism, musicality &amp; his ability to speak freely.
Quickly becoming known for his renowned presence as a live performer, 2017 saw him travel to the US to meet &amp; record with many of the artists he was inspired by and that appear on his debut album '<i style="font-weight: bold;">Sugar Like Salt' </i>due for release on the 15th June 2018.
