Much has changed since Magpie Jay first emerged with their first LP Monte Claro. After the band’s album debut, the creative process of making music together continued to flourish between vast music genres that were being listened to and somehow influenced new musical territories to explore. Magpie Jay returned to Guanacaste to work out the songs but this time stayed at a beach house, located in Punta Islita.
Islita is Magpie Jay’s second album title. For second time it resembles a place from Costa Rica where the band felt inspired and comfortable working together. The process of Islita finally made 17-recorded songs, but the band’s second LP consists of 14 songs.
