His first album "Já Carregou" won the award for best independent album of 2014 by Editora / Livraria Saraiva Brasil.
In the year 2015 he released the album "Pode Ser".
In 2016 he released his acoustic record "Espelho" produced and recorded by him in his living room.
His new work "Além Mar" has participations of fado singer Marco Oliveira, the rapper Alexandre Francisco Diaphra and Brazilian composer Wado. It was recorded in Rio de Janeiro and Lisbon, in the studios of the Argentine producer Martin Scian and the artist Marcelo Camelo.
Zé is one of the founders of the Abayomy Afrobeat Orchestra, the first afrobeat band in Brazil. Abayomy has 2 discs released and has already played touched throughout the country.
He played with Tony Allen and produced with him the single "Meus Filhos", also with the participation of BNegão, lead singer of Planet Hemp, one of the most important rock bands in Brazil.
He played in the band of singer Céu and also in the band of Jards Macalé for 5 years. The artist is one of the icons of Tropicália, produced the album Transa by Caetano Veloso and directed Gal Costa, among others.
He also played with Luiz Melodia, Otto, Marku Ribas, Fafá de Belém, Thaís Gulin and André Abujamra.
He was guitarist of Oghene Kologbo, guitarist of the first band of Fela Kuti, during his stay in Brazil.
