Composer and clarinetist Rebecca Trescher is certainly one of the most active visionaries on the German jazz scene.
With the release of WHERE WE GO, already her third album for large ensemble, she presents her work of the last two years. All compositions were written for her large ensemble concert series at the Tafelhalle Nuremberg. During that intense period of time that encompassed 13 concerts, she explored a variety of possibilities as a bandleader. Working with various guest artists – musicians, dancers, writers and filmmakers – provided opportunities for her to further develop her very own musical language. Following her passion for interdisciplinary work, Rebecca teamed up with filmmaker Moritz Müller-Preißer to produce several music videos that also accompany the album release. The video for its title track marks the core and climax of this cooperation, featuring contemporary dance artist Kirill Berezovski. In correspondence with his alter ego, he is allegorically in search of the “Where We Go” – the perpetual quest of the artist. The video is published on YouTube. www.rebeccatrescher.com
