Lydia Maddix (born 6 June 1993) is a singer-songwriter and guitarist from London/Bedfordshire, hailed as ‘original' by BBC Radio 1.
Lydia’s debut EP '93 has been well-received since its release with backing from BBC Music Introducing who featured her as their Valentine’s week artist. BBC3CR presenter Edward Adoo championed her single, Too Cliché adding ‘look out for Lydia Maddix, she’s doing great things embracing pop music in a magical and dynamic way’.
'93 offers food for thought on being a 20-something trying to find a place in the world of dating and personal dreams. Based on the soundtrack to her childhood, '93 is a nostalgic pop recipe infused with today's revival synth/electro sound, which she describes as 'Years & Years mixed with Lily Allen, La-Roux and a bit of Carly Rae Jepsen'.
Since '93's release Lydia has gained fans both on and off the screen including comedian Sally Phillips, Actor Donald Waugh (Bugsy Malone, Grange Hill) Model/TV personality Katie Price and reality stars Sam & Billie Faiers.
Lydia is now gigging across the UK and gearing up for her first headline show in March 2019. As well as this, Lydia is writing lots of new material and will soon return to the studio to record her follow-up EP.
