Leah Hinton, singer/songwriter, musician, entertainer, teacher and Berklee College of Music graduate. She is also New England Music Award's 2018 Jazz Act of the Year Nominee. She provides sounds and smooth tones of Jazz and Soul. Her latest EP entitled SonKissed is Jazz influenced music with Neo-Soul vibes and a positive message about love and life. She has been performing along the East Coast and writing new music. She is currently writing and recording her new album set to be released in early 2020. She has great things in store for her in the near future and much music and passion to share with the world.
Originating from Henderson, North Carolina, she grew up singing in school, church and choirs. Taking singing and piano lessons grew her love for music. She always had a fondness of jazz music starting at a young age. Leah also enjoys being involved in and performing in community events and giving back. It is very important to her to help others as many have helped her.
She gets much of her inspiration from influences such as Jesus Christ, her parents, Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Minnie Riperton, Dianne Reeves, Lisa Fischer, Ledisi, Sammy Davis Jr., Sade, Anita O’day, India Arie, Erykah Badu, Adele, Diana Ross, Alicia Keys, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Mary Mary, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Esperanza Spalding, Miles Davis, Al Jarreau, Nancy Wilson, Sounds of Blackness, Take 6, Gretchen Parlato, and Quincy Jones just to name a few.
