Shruthi Rajasekar is an Indian-American composer and vocalist. A Carnatic (South Indian classical) and Western classical musician, she uses her unique background to create music that explores identity. Shruthi's music has been honored globally, including by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. Her current projects are commissions from acclaimed American ensembles VocalEssence and the Seraphim Singers, schemes with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and UK chamber ensemble Psappha, publications with VocalEssence Music Press & Graphite Publishing, the digital release of her compositions by the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain and NMC Recordings, and performances of her choral, orchestral, and chamber works across North America, Europe, and Asia. A nationally-recognized singer, Shruthi regularly performs across genres. Along with concert music, Shruthi composes for film, theatre, and as a songwriter.
