‘It has been an amazing experience diving into other artists’ projects and stories,’ explains Dom Youdan. ‘It’s liberating to take on someone else’s persona and help shape their journey. I think in turn it has given me the confidence to draw on my personal experiences for my own artist project.’
His new single Daydream speaks to that newfound artistry. The song produced by Andrew Hopkins (Hauskey) is a very honest look at the feeling of failure, and of wanting to hide from the truth. The sense of escape is punctuated by ethereal production and steadfast percussion.
‘Daydream is one of the most personal songs I’ve ever written,’ continues Dom Youdan. ‘It tackles the fear of failing at a time when I just needed to escape from myself, to hide in someone else’s thoughts and not look at tomorrow.’
Fresh from a Japan tour in early 2020, Daydream is the first single in another exciting year for the UK born Sydney-sider, as he continues to work on an array of music and writing projects.
