Dolcenera is the pseudonym of Emanuela Trane, an Italian pop singer, actress, and reality TV star. Born on May 16, 1977, Trane spent her childhood in southern Italy, where she learned piano and began writing songs as a 14-year-old.

Her debut single, "Only You," was released in September 2002, followed one year later by "Siamo Tutti là Fuori," which won an award at the 2003 Sanremo Festival. Dolcenera took home another award in 2005, finishing first in the televised singing competition Music Farm. Released that same year, Un Mondo Perfetto became her first platinum-selling album, sparking a string of equally successful albums like Il Popolo dei Sogni, Nel Paese delle Meraviglie, and Evoluzione della Specie. Dolcenera also found success as an actress, landing roles in the Italian films Il Nostro Messia, Scrivilo Sui Muri, and Amore 14. ~ Andrew Leahey, Rovi
