Tilde Mouw is a Minneapolis native, San Francisco-based singer/songwriter. Her acoustic indie-rock pairs dark humor with catchy vocal melodies to create thought-provoking songs.
With minimalist instrumentation, built around voice and guitar, she evokes the influence of Phoebe Bridgers, Kimya Dawson, and Neko Case. Her songs often tell a story, drawing on her own life experiences and making a painful or absurd experience somehow make sense by reimagining it as a fairytale, horror story, or hero’s journey within a song. Living in Silicon Valley, her lyrics and artistic work beyond songwriting increasingly critique tech, the growing wealth divide, and bro culture.
Trained in classical guitar, Tilde Mouw began performing in the Minneapolis music scene in the early 2000s at Twin Cities Underground, a youth concert venue in Uptown on Lake Street. During that time, she wrote and produced a romantic comedy opera, Love and a Lion, which premiered in the 2008 Minnesota Fringe Festival.
You can catch her performing in San Francisco. She is currently working on her third album.
