Slated for a June 2018 release, BLOOD BROTHERS, the much-anticipated follow-up to Jeffrey Foucault’s critically acclaimed 2015 album SALT AS WOLVES (“Immaculately tailored… close to perfection”” - NEW YORK TIMES; “Pure Songwriter” -MORNING EDITION NPR) reconvenes that album’s all-star ensemble - Foucault’s longtime tour partner Billy Conway (Morphine) on drums, Bo Ramsey (Lucinda Williams) on electric guitars, and Jeremy Moses Curtis (Jones">Booker T. Jones) on bass, joined this time out by Eric Heywood (Pretenders, Ray LaMontagne) on pedal steel - and features a series of duets with artists Tift Merritt, Pieta Brown, Kris Delmhorst, Laurie Sargent, and Kenneth Pattengale (The Milk Carton Kids), in a deeply patient collection of songs exploring the indelible connections of love across time and space.
One of the finest songwriters of his generation, Jeffrey Foucault has built a brick and mortar independent international touring career of 12 studio albums, countless miles, and critical accolades. He’s been lauded for ‘Stark, literate songs that are as wide open as the landscape of his native Midwest’ (The New Yorker) and described as ‘Quietly brilliant’ (The Irish Times), while catching the ear of everyone from Greil Marcus, to Don Henley, to Van Dyke Parks. With BLOOD BROTHERS, Foucault stakes out and enlarges the ground he’s been working diligently all the new century: quietly building a deep, resonant catalog of songs about about love, memory, God, desire, wilderness and loss.
