Self described as Uplifting angst, British/Colombian Latina,
MeMe Detroit was raised on the outskirts of Stratford - Upon - Avon UK and developed an ironic strong aversion to Shakespeare from a young age. As she grew, heavily influenced by a family generational
box of vinyl, she inevitably developed into a poet/songwriter of her own form.
Sitting somewhere between sleazy grit rock grunge and power indie, The band consists of MeMe on vocals, guitars & Synth, Kallum McEwen on drums and new addition Steve Hildebrand on bass. With over 200 gigs under MeMe's belt, they have become known for their high octane, fully immersive live shows.
Championed by BBC Introducing as well as landing regular airtime on Kerrang! Radio and Janice Long's show on BBC Radio Wales, MeMe Detroit
“A stirring, visceral return...” Clash
"MeMe Detroit bridges the gaps between grunge, indie and blues rock..." Louder than war

“MeMe has a gripping energy that grabs your gaze and holds it." Leigh Sanders - Express & Star

"A fast and furious sonic tour de force, Life In The Now is the riotous antidote we need right now" - GigSoup

"This is the kind of person you get jealous of because they're an incredibly talented singer, multi-instrumentalist and composer..." Janice Long - BBC Radio Wales
E.P 'Life in the now' out now on SoulRock Central Records.
Forthcoming single 'Can't get you out of my mind' released Friday 29th November 2019
