electric.kitchen grew out of series of weekly electronic improvisation sessions in Mtn. View, started in 2016 by Mark Lentczner.
The focus is on live performance of a music exploring electronic timbre and rhythm. Most of the works on these tracks are mixed from live recordings of performances and studio sessions.
Mark studied electronic music composition with Ivan Tcherepnin, and conga drumming with Arthur Hull. His best known composition is the arpeggiated chord boot sound for the Mac II.
Paul Buser and Dylan Phan previously played extensively with Mark in the project. As a trio, their first album of improvised works was released under a different name: PTH Improv.
Josh Bailey and his musical, MIDI controlled Tesla coil synthesizer sometimes join the project, and can be heard on the Metal Biped album.
