Originally from Atlanta and currently living in Nashville, Larkin Poe is comprised of sisters Rebecca (lead vocals, electric guitar) and sister Megan (harmony vocals, lap steel guitar) who named the band after their great-great-great-grandfather, a distant cousin of writer Edgar.
Larkin Poe's electric and slide guitar riffs earned them the title of "little sisters of the Allman Brothers" among fans and followers. The band’s full-length debut Kin was released in 2014, followed by an acclaimed U.K. performance at the Glastonbury Festival, as well as participation in producer T. Bone Burnett's project Lost on the River: The New Basement Tapes. A revamped edition of Kin -- Reskinned -- was released in the summer of 2016. In between releasing albums, the duo has hit the road as opening and backing bands for Kristian Bush (Sugarland), Conor Oberst, and Elvis Costello on his ‘Detour’ tours. They have also opened for Bob Seger, Queen, and Gary Clark Jr. Larkin Poe's newest album Peach is comprised of half blues covers and half original material written by Megan and Rebecca, that harkens towards their rootsy musical heritage. Peach was produced and performed by Megan and Rebecca, and engineered by Roger Alan Nichols who has previously worked with the likes of Steven Tyler, Tyler Bryant and Paramore.
