Obsessing over synthesizers and drum machines, it makes sense that Christopher Ian Brooker was often found rummaging through the electronics in his grandfather’s workshop.
This combined with a deep study in multi-instrumentalism, led him to an incessant push towards the outer reaches of audio capabilities and a slurry of releases under the moniker Where Are We. His experimental EP Engineer’s Handbook Vol.1 showcased an alternative take on being an audio engineer and used samples of his studio’s clients and transformed them into an amorphous fusing of psychedelia and electronica, eventually winning him Creative Loafing’s Best of 2012. This was followed by an honorable mention by LA Times for his synth heavy film score for the gnarly, creature-feature Bad Blood: The Movie. Now with the reveal of his A/V live show entitled In Continuum, he continues to push into the outer reaches of what electronics can do.
