The group came to fruition after brothers Ronny and Nico came to the States in search of like-minded and strong-spirited individuals who shared the same passion for 60’s, 70’s and 80’s classic rock. After months of dead-end auditions with various aspiring frontmen the brothers crossed paths with Jani Jaakko after the latter responded to an old audition flyer waving raggedly like the hand of fate on a signpost on West Hollywood’s Sunset Strip. From then on the stars seemed to align when bassist Joe Galate absconded from the dusty plains of Austin, TX to join the trio after hearing through the grapevine The Darbies were seeking out the last piece to their musical mosaic: a fitting bass player, someone with parallel aspirations, passions and lust for music and performance. Alas! Late in the summer of 2018, The Darbies was fully realized, formed and ready to rock!
