Young indie acoustic-folk songstress with a flair for lyrical tenderness; London ON based CAMIE is a female-identifying folk artist whose small town roots have intimately kindled the original music that she has been performing on festival stages and at bars, coffee shops, and theatres for the last five years.
CAMIE’s powerful and poignant lyrics are indicative of her talent for storytelling and passion for language, which is primarily at the centre of her work. She draws inspiration from the great female vocal and songwriting talents of Joni Mitchell, Stevie Nicks, and Laura Marling, her songs often grappling with romance, social isolation, the human body, the environment and its natural phenomena, and intimacy of all sorts. Before moving to London, CAMIE won the 2016 Rising Star Hamilton Music Award and was nominated internationally for Best Female Artist and Best Original Song by the FabChart. She is now in the process of recording her first EP due for release in early 2019.
