Forged from the lifeless flatlands of East Northamptonshire, Joel Bailey now sings
words he has written down. He sometimes does this in public places (including The
Roundhouse, Rough Trade East, The Underage Festival, Servant Jazz Quarters and
The Natural History Museum) but usually just in the spare bedroom of his flat in
South East London. To sound cool he will often cite his influences as Bill Withers,
Chet Baker and Jeff Buckley but in truth it’s more like Curtis Stigers, R Kelly and Mike
+ The Mechanics. He wrote this bio in the third person.
