Praised by Rick Rubin for her live ability and recently named a BBC Music Introducing artist and listed one of BBC Asian Network's Sound of 2020 artists, Amrit's notable performances include Glastonbury Festival, MTV, TEDx, Somerset House Summer Series, Jaipur Literature Festival (India) and the UN General Assembly with Skip Marley for World Children's Day 2019. She recently featured on the new version of 'One Love' by Bob Marley alongside the Marley family and musicians from around the world in support of UNICEF.
Her last three releases have been produced by Mercury Prize winning producer Jonathan Quarmby and recorded at the historic RAK Studios in London.
Born into a Sikh family in Tottenham, Amrit Kaur is a singer-songwriter, Sarangi player and vocalist in genres of Punjabi folk, R&B and soul. Based in London, she tours internationally as a performer, educator and social entrepreneur. Amrit has composed music for BBC television series and theatre productions. She studied BA and MA History at SOAS, University of London. She is also a Global Youth Ambassador for 'TheirWorld'.
