Micayl is a german Songwriter, composer and producer. Mirroring Europe’s multiculturalism, Micayl’s work crosses and fuses genres to create an idiosyncratic sound blending Avant-garde R&B, soul-infused hip hop, organic lo-fi and Nu-Jazz. His musical style is diverse, varied, a medley of influences from Miles Davis and John Coltrane to Tom Misch and Jordan Rakei, Chet Baker to FKJ and Kendrick Lamar. Never one to be constrained by rigid, restrictive boundaries, Micayl often moves between several musical projects and social circles at once: alongside the Pan-European Music Projects Association, he is a member of the Blue Blood Collective founded by Spilt Milk Society frontman Harry Handford, as well as a composer and arranger. His latest project, an eigtheen-minute collaborative piece informed by Walt Whitman’s ‘O Me! O Life!’, in which several artists have
‘contributed a verse’, typifies the coexistence and collective contribution underlying much of Micayl’s work.
