Biquini Cavadão means a tiny cut-a-way bikini well known in Brazilian beaches during the eighties. It is also the name of one of the most famous bands in Brazil in the last thirty years, with more than 1,5 million albums sold, and more than two thousand shows presented nation wide, as well as abroad.
Bruno Gouveia (vocals), Miguel Flores da Cunha (keyboards), Alvaro Birita (drums) and Coelho (guitars) are together ever since their beginning, in 1985. They have a huge collection of nation wide hits: Tédio, Timidez, Vento Ventania, Zé Ninguém, Janaína, Quando Eu Te Encontrar, Quanto Tempo Demora Um Mês, Dani, Roda-Gigante are just some of them. Pioneer entrepreneurs, they were the first Brazilian band to have an e-mail address and an official website, in the nineties, to keep direct contact with their fans. They played outside Brazil in the US, Portugal and Denmark, as well as in important events like Hollywood Rock (1993) and Rock In Rio (2001). Their first DVD, a live show in Fortaleza, achieved Diamond in 2005 and in 2013, with their album Roda-Gigante, it’s title track was nominee for the best brazilian song in the Latin Grammy Awards. After 32 years and 16 records, Biquini Cavadão prove that, when the matters come to bikini, they are always fashionable.
