Lorne is an English singer, songwriter and pianist who released his debut EP Maze on 24th November 2017.
Introduced to Peter Gabriel in his teens, Lorne was taken by Gabriel's sound and notes the musician as the main influence behind his music. Also drawn to artists such as Bon Iver, Brandon Flowers and Damien Rice, his attraction to melodic pop and rock is evident in his ideas. Lorne has performed at notable singer songwriter venues such as The Troubadour, Ronnie Scott's and Notting Hill Arts Club.
Lorne's debut single Bread Alone was released in February 2017. Premiered on Clash Music, Bread Alone was song of the week on BBC Introducing Berkshire and has a playlist spot on Chill Radio.
"Devoid of manufactured hooks and percussion, Bread Alone is an almost signature opus for the new artist, showing the depth of his voice and sincerity whilst building him some revere in his early stages. Haunting and personal, the song discusses the thought that ‘man cannot live on bread alone’; a biblical phrase that still holds so much poignancy in today’s world."
"Oil and Water is an intimate glimpse into Lorne's universe and the accompanying video illustrates the song's melancholy. The desolation in Lorne’s voice gives way to resignation, with lyrics depicting religious imagery highlighting the deep atmospheric mood of the track."
