Danish-raised singer and songwriter Emma Sand moved to London in 2018 to escape the triviality of her life back home. Influenced by the sounds of Nat King Cole and Danish artists Emma’s music reflects the old jazzy sounds while incorporating Danish folk-sound into her raw and honest songs. Having never had the chance to learn an instrument himself, her dad worked long hours to afford a piano for Emma after seeing her sing songs by Ella Fitzgerald and Nancy Wilson as a child. Being able to express her emotions on the piano opened a whole new world to Emma channeling a rollercoaster of emotions in her music. Her two-sided single Girl in Adelaide with the songs Girl in Adelaide and Savannah are a result of a strong feeling of rootlessness, love, loss and confusion.
