In April and May of 2017, he was in New Orleans for the third time, where he played in traditional venues such as the Frenchy's Gallery, the Professor Longhair Museum, and the classic Jimmi's Music Club. He participated as a special guest in a tribute to Professor Longhair, Allen Toussaint and Earl King. He also took the stage at the Jazz & Heritage Festival, one of the most important contemporary festivals, alongside Tom Worrel and J. Monque’ D. In Argentina, he performed together with El Club del Jump, one of the main bands of the new generation of Argentine blues.
In Brazil, he participated in some of the major blues and jazz festivals. Together with the Big Chiefs, who accompanied him on the album The Power of Love, Leães took his music to the Bourbon Folk & Blues Fest in Ilhabela, Londrina Blues Festival and Midnight Hour Jazz & Blues Festival in Maringá. In just 2017 the pianist performed more than 50 times with his projects Luciano Leães & The Big Chiefs and Piano Night.
